Kotta Sushi Lounge - Frisco
The good: service was kind and clean.
The bad: sushi rice was meh, and the rolls are loose.
The ugly: the fish was not fresh, flavors were uninspired and the wasabi was brownish and squeezed out of a tube.
Bottom line if you know good sushi you will be highly disappointed. Honestly Kroger has better. Keep driving to Sushi Sake or Fujiyama if your looking for the real deal.
I love the Kotta Tower. Tonight I tried the Guns and Roses and it was excellent. Always a great meal here.
We love kotta and the food is good and our waitress was lovely on Friday - but c’mon KOTTA its time for a renovation and update!!
We love Kotta!
We had a great server Mel and the food was AMAZING!!
Mel was in top of everything and had great suggestions for our table of four. We will certainly be back!
Our go too place for sushi and other dinner items!! Great service and family or date atmosphere!
The female owner is always so difficult to deal with when we walk in. She never wants to seat us and always says they’re too full even if we have a reservation. This past weekend she did it again and said we could sit at the sushi bar when we had a reservation for a table. She made us feel like the other reservations were more important than ours and she was saving them special tables. We wouldn’t keep coming back if the food wasn’t great! Everyone else is perfect and always so kind and accommodating.
Great food and great service! Best sushi place in Frisco!
Fabulous place. I cannot wait to enjoy the new Kotta, downtown! We enjoyed two of our traditional favorites, the J Bombs and TDF Roll. I believe the TDF Roll is one of the best rolls anywhere. J-Bombs are as close to being Keto Friendly as one can possibly find. We have loved Kotta for years and continue to visit when we are in Frisco,
One of the few restaurants we go to eat. Always good.
Always love Kotta! One of our weekly go-to restaurants.
Favorite sushi in the Frisco area. Highly recommend.
Our favorite sushi in the area (Frisco, Prosper). Love their atmosphere and service, Tullip is the best! She always makes our dining experience special. Thanks y'all at Kotta Sushi. We'll be back, always.
One of the best sushi restaurants you can go to! The Nacho roll is the best roll!
Always a great night out. Was pleasantly surprised with live music on this Thursday night!
My favorite ❤️
The food (Tempura) was best described as soggy and not crispy. The food was average but not great. Good service.
Food was very good but is pricey for the market.
Service was great service
Food is always great
Food is always excellent here. It's my go to place for Sushi in Frisco.
Best sushi around. Creative menu.
Showed up for reservation with a party of 7 two minutes early. Even though they said they were expecting us and half the tables were empty, they didn’t have space for 7 anywhere. After hostess conferred with server for 5 minutes, they added 3 chairs to a table for 4. I told them this didn’t work and they eventually pushed some other tables together, which was still very tight. Server was apologetic but still not great. Took over 20 minutes to get a beer and they forgot my son’s order so I ended up canceling it and sharing my food with him. 20% gratuity automatically added, even though experience was poor. More than $300 for a party of 7, 4 of whom were kids. Save your money and go elsewhere. I guess there’s a reason the restaurant was half-empty on a Saturday night.
Food is great! Service could be better, prices are a little high.
Outstanding as always. Food is great and service is always top quality.
2nd time in a few weeks the sushi came out 20 minutes after the entrees
Not that great to eat separately from others in group!
Sea Scallops were excellent.
Pretty disappointed in this restaurant - the food was below mediocre.
The squid salad was so not fresh , it tasted like it came from a deli box from Asian market and was a month past the expiration date. The Dragon Roll hardly had any eel on it and was the saddest little Dragon Roll I’ve ever had. The yellowtail roll my husband ordered didn’t look / taste fresh whatsoever with wilted slices of jalapeño, which seemed to have been sliced at least a few days ago.
The dinner was so not good, that we actually interrupted our dinner and went to a different sushi place right down the street which we enjoyed so much more than this overpriced restaurant. I should have known better - it was empty when we walked in...
Great experience. It was not a busy night and it was great all the way around. Frequent customers as the food is always fantastic.
We loved our waiter Mel, he was very attentive. We ordered the shrimp tempura appetizer and they have changed the batter and it isn’t nearly as good as it used to be and we would not order it again. We also ordered the Marti Gras roll and the fried crawfish were cold. The red dragon roll was awesome!
Best sushi in town! Alan is awesome!
Great neighborhood find. A little more expensive than I’d like for everyday dinner but the sushi was fresh and delicious and service was warm and welcoming.
I loved it! I definitely will return to try more dishes.
The food exceeded our expectations. Excellent! It is price on par with other good sushi restaurants. We really enjoyed our meal.
Calamari is Outstanding,,,sushi was outstanding... one of my favorite places!!!!
We always have a great time. The food is delicious, the service is great and we are greeted with a smile.
Our waiter was awful but as always, the food was amazing.
My wife and I had a very nice Valentine’s day lunch there. Food was very good and service was excellent. The only complaint is the adjoining tables were uncomfortably close. No way to tune out the conversations next to us.
My wife and I have been going to Kotta's for over 10 years. It is our favorite sushi restaurant and we have watched many people there grow. It has been a nice experience. The food is always very good. We were there a couple of weeks ago and recently for my wife's birthday. Unfortunately, it seems the place is slipping. A couple of weeks ago I ordered New Amsterdam gin. I was told they were out and could substitute and I chose Hendricks (of course!). No problem; though this is the first time I have ordered something that they were out of. Recently on my wife's birthday they were out of Simi chardonnay and this is the first time this has ever happened. It seems that inventory control is a new issue. Service was also not up to par this time. I hate it when I have to grab my own fork (after asking for one that never arrived), our edamame and J-Bombs were room temperature (probably sat on counter for too long), waited exorbitantly long for sushi rolls to arrive, ordered drinks that were very slow arriving, and the worst is sitting there when you are done with empty water, empty drinks, and no check insight. I hope Kotta's management will read this and take some action as there are new sushi restaurants opening up in the area all the time. I will have to take my business elsewhere if this should happen again. One more thing: all this happened on a Wednesday night and they were not that busy.
