Everyone is short staffed so I don’t expect anything more from our waiter. The problem was the gnats, all over the place like we were in a barn or 3rd world country. Unacceptable to not have the pests under control
Food is amazing as always.
First of all, my daughter loved the birthday “butter cake” with ice cream and raspberries! Our server was very kind and her effort to provide good service did not go unnoticed. My biggest disappointment was the restaurant felt very “mall-like” and corporate. For those prices, i expect a higher level. I paid 16$ for two extremely undersized veggie sides. The Brussel sprouts weren’t terrible just not enough in the bowl. The broccoli was not only tiny but saturated in maybe “veg-all” or some cheap margarine. Aside from the very decent server, i wouldn’t spend another $200 here ever~
The food was really good. The service was really slow
Had to wait too long even with a reservation. Waiter completely forgot my sushi order so I didn't even get to eat. Thank goodness we ordered an appetizer. Won't be back ever
Extremely overpriced for the quality that was presented.
Had a reservation, ended up getting sat at the bar. Food was mediocre and very over priced for what you got. Definitely not a great spot for a date.
Marshall is the best bartender in the entire world
Wonderful to be back to fine dining! Everything about the meal was delicious. Just enough attention to meet our needs but not feel like the service was interrupting our conversation.
The food was delicious and the service was great !
Fast service, good food, great value for the money. What else do you need? We will be back
our order came out wrong and raw. Manager came by and apologized. She comped our meal. Had stomach issues from the calamari later that day. This was our first visit to Kona Grill :(.
Poor service waiter was profiling myself and date. As more than once to get clean glasses, and instead of getting new he takes his smock to wipe around the rim. Very unprofessional it’s not a training issue. This more of common sense this establishment needs to hire customer service individual ,but someone who has to do this job. Find another that better suits them or your reviews will go down.
Had an outside table in the shade. Server was attentive, but not intrusive - perfect.
It was good service a bit slow
As always Atavia is a Rockstar server. She truly goes above and beyond. We look forward to seeing her again.
Great food. Staff was a little pushy but overall great place/ambiance and would recommend!
Loved our food! Portions of salad and rolls were large enough to share. Steaks were delicious. We will be back
Great place. Made me feel like I wanted to go shopping since it’s in the mall.
Our waiter was very attentive through the our time there
The happy hiur appetizers were not only delicious but good portions
Always a little loud but we made it work
Was very pleased with the food and service. Our server was outstanding. I wish I could remember her name. She was extremely friendly, attentive, and all around great at her job. We were sat near the kitchen, so I suspect the noise level was a little higher than other areas of the restaurant, but no complaints.
Evan was an amazing waiter! My friend and I had a few questions about certain foods we were into trying and Evan answered all our questions with no problem. His attitude was great and the food was great as well.
The food was good and the waiter was great. However, our reservation time was not honored and one of the hostess’ was very rude. The manager was nice but should have done more about the Mother’s Day backup.
Horrible. Had a 12:15 reservation and finally left around 1:45 when we hadn’t received our food. Service was extremely slow. First cup of coffee was cold. Place was empty by the time we finally got our drinks. The waiter, manager and two hosts stopped by table to apologize. One host mentioned another table got comped their whole $150 meal but we had to pay less than $10 for 3 coffees and a soft drink. Ruined Mother’s Day.
They were not prepared for the day. We watched two salads sit under a heat lamp for 50 minutes and then was brought out to two separate tables. I got my food 35 minutes after my wife and mom as was the case across the restaurant. The staff was apologizing but that did not make up for a 3 hour lunch with a reservation. We go to the one is Plano all the time. I would recommend the Plano location over the one at North Park mall as the experience is night and day
Kona Grill is an excellent place to dine.

I enjoyed the music DJ Pete played. The Lobster dumplings were very greasy, but had good flavor. Mashed potatoes were dry and flavorless. Filet mignon was cooked perfectly. Brussel Sprouts were seasoned well but were slightly undercooked. The strawberry rum cake and carrot cake were both crazy delicious 😋. Mark the bartender provided great service even though he was very busy!
This was the worst restaurant experience for me in a very long time. Our reservation was for 12:00 on Mother's day. It was understandably busy, but that was okay. Myself and our kids wanted to treat my wife (their mother) to a nice brunch. We sat down, and the manager came to take our drink orders. Again, this made sense as they were relatively busy. My wife ordered a Mimosa and we ordered waters for the table. The waters arrived, and that was yet. Literally, we sat for 30 minutes and no one came to take our order or deliver my wife's Mimosa. There were 2 tables adjacent to us. Both tables order and received multiple Mimosas well before us. We gathered our things and walked out. I spoke with the manager, and his only comment to me was..."I'm sorry...but I don't normally wait on tables." He gave me his card and said dinner was on him the next time. I took the card and threw it in the trash right in front of him.
Bad service was expected for a busy day like Mother's Day. No service is completely unacceptable.
I really wanted to like this place but will never visit again.
Horrible experience. Waited an hour and 45 minutes for food after ordering and they still didn’t know when it would be ready. Left after a 2 hour experience with no food. Just terrible.
Despite making Mother’s Day reservations weeks in advance, we waited over an hour and a half for our meal. When my mother’s meal was finished it was so over cooked the manager said it was inedible so they had to start cooking it over again - which caused further delay. We all had our meals way before my mother - and it was her celebration! You would think they would offer a complimentary dessert or wine to make up for the awful service - but no. Full charge. Will never be back.
Took over 20 minutes to get water and drinks ordered and an hour twenty to get breakfast served. Waiter was good but they were severely understaffed for Mother’s Day. Ordered 3 pancakes but only got two. Eggs were okay.
Mother’s Day lunch. 11:45 reservation, seated at 12:15. Our meals arrived at 1:30. All tables were asking where their food was. Horrible experience.
Kona Grill is a good catch-all chain restaurant with multiple DFW locations. Prices are reasonable to the extent that there are multiple options under $20. We booked a Mother's Day brunch reservation for a party of 7 weeks in advance. Reservations were required. When we arrived the restaurant did not appear busy but we had trouble getting water at our table. Our first thought was that we needed to get our orders in right away just in case they were slow. An hour after we got our water we had not received our food. While the waiter kept our water refreshed it was not a distraction. From our table, we could see that there were quite a few people waiting to be seated. Others were leaving the restaurant before getting their food. When I inquired with the manager he mentioned that they were understaffed. Unfortunately, that was pretty obvious.
When our food finally arrived two items were forgotten. So, how was the food? Hubby says the burger was pretty good. The lobster and shrimp roll was also tasty. The mint in the French toast was an interesting touch. The omelet with asparagus was the biggest disappointment. They fried the eggs and wrapped them around full stalks of asparagus. It was not an omelet at all. There was no combination of flavors. Do not order this item. In the end, we spent over $200 on okay food that arrived late. Good thing we had great company and no other plans.
Went for Mother’s Day dinner on Saturday night. Our waitress was amazing. She was polite, energetic, and so friendly. My husband and I had the surf and turf with the fillet mingnon and it was DELICIOUS!
Nice to try, food is good. Wouldn’t go back because food is overpriced
Great food as always
Brought a friend visiting/relocating to Dallas. Great service at this location!!
This is a great option for a last minute get-together. The late night happy hour has plenty of options to choose from at discounted prices. The only drawback is that this particular location can be difficult to locate if you aren’t used to this mall. Outside of that it was perfect
Good food. Supports military. Disabled friendly
