   Appetizers, cocktails, entrees and desserts were fantastic! Our server, Mike, gave us great recommendations that did not disappoint! We will be back! Avocado egg rolls, meatballs, Asian salad, Macadamia Nut Chicken, Filet, Carrot Cake and Butter Cake, were all fabulous! The New Old Fashioned and Espresso Martini’s were perfection!

   First, let me say that I do like Kona Grill. Cannot beat thier sushi and late night happy hour. This review is regarding Easter. We made our reservations (albeit last minute), but we thought “what could go wrong?”. Great menu. Great variety. Not on Easter. Someone invented a very bad “brunch” menu and it was all you could order until 3PM. The kicker? $49/person. Three of the six of us did not want to participate in so much as we could not possibly eat that much food. The other three couldn’t eat that much either, but there was literally no other choice. Now, allow me to say that the manager did come over and explain what the program was for the day. He did offer to make us some sushi rolls off the regular menu. We politely declined but the solid effort is noted. I didn’t think to take a photo of the menu, but the food was NOT good quality at all. Pastries were cold and bland. One of them did look familiar: the cinnamon rolls from Pilsbury that have a VERY distinct look. However, no icing. Coffee cold and when we asked the server to bring us another coffee, a different person appeared to ask what the problem was. We just wanted mom’s coffee to be hot. Pace of service was slow, and they were not crowded. Main course finally arrived with an assortment of eats. Eggs were cold. Biscuits appeared to be the GFS kind that you warm up in the oven and serve. Just not a good brunch. There was no notice of this special menu ANYWHERE in the website, or Open Table. Nothing on the door when you walked in, and it wasn’t until we sat down that we were told “this is your only choice”. Yes, we could have got up and left, but we chose not to do so. Over $200 for three, plus a slice of carrot cake, coffee and a mimosa. I know Easter is tough on restaurants, but this idea was bad. I’ll be back to Kona (see the opening paragraph). This was probably an idea gone very wrong.

   Easter brunch was poor. Overcooked eggs, paper thin sausage, small muffins that could have been bought at Kroger, ice cold (literally) small pancakes. I heard great things about their $18 cinnamon roll. Today they were out. They substituted what was not as good as a Pillsbury cinnamon roll that came from the tube at the store. The bacon was good, the Asian vegetable cakes were good, chicken fried chicken had been sitting a while. This was not the usual high quality Kona Grill I’ve experienced. For $49 pp, it was sad. The service was very good.

   Stopped in for lunch after church on Easter only to realize we didn’t have the option to order from the menu AFTER they had already brought the first part of the “bottomless” brunch. By far the worst brunch I’ve had, everytime tasted/looked like hotel breakfast (eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes) highly disappointed but service was fine and everyone was nice so plus there.

   We dine at Kona Grill fairly regularly. Overall we’ve been very pleased lately. Today was an exception. 6 of us were there for Easter lunch. There was only one menu - a brunch served family style that was $49 for adults and $29 for children. It was high for the food that was served - but there was certainly lots of it! I wish I’d been aware when I made the reservation that this was the only menu.

    Superior service, great food, and a fun drink menu. Sea bass sliders and the flaming… uh, forgot the name, but a sushi roll w. unagi was ono! (Delicious)
