   We like Kona and their food but this time we were seated by the kitchen and it was horribly loud. Ridiculous! Won’t ever sit there again. But we will return.

   One of the great restaurants in the Treasure Valley. Our server was the bartender today and she is our favorite. Very attentive and an expert on all of the menu items. We highly recommend Kona Grill.

   Kona used to be one of my favorite restaurants but the service and value has gone downhill in the last year. We were there for 1.5 hours and saw our server 2 times. We waited 25 minutes after our food was delivered to get utensils. There was no one around to even ask for help. The food took a long time and the drinks took forever. This used to be one of our go to restaurants but this last time out the mail in the coffin. We will not be back

   Our server was amazing. Very kind & professional. Food was not. The medium rare Rib Eye Surf & turf was well done with well done shrimp. The Macadamia Nut Chicken was over cooked, dry, & hard to chew. The Miso Mashed potatoes were dry & instant potato like. The Cilantro Lime Chicken was over cooked, dry, & hard to chew. The Turmeric Rice was very dry & over cooked as well. Our expectations were not met for the price paid.

   I've been to Kona Grill several times and this most recent experience was sub par and we'll below the experience I'm accustomed to at Kona Grill. The service was fair (waiter barely checked in on us), we waited for an hour just to get our food (there were other tables that waited 2 hours their food), the food was okay but it was definitely not worth the price of what they charge for it. My fiancé had lemon garlic penne pasta and I had the kona stir fry, both were delicious but not $75 delicious. The music was so loud that I could barely hear my fiancé sitting across the table (on the verge of yelling). Definitely a frustrating experience and didn't leave a great impression on my fiancé who was there trying it for the first time. I was embarrassed for her because it wasn't as good compared to other times I had been there. Not sure we will be back right away after this experience.

    The avocado rolls were delicious. I also enjoyed the macadamia nut chicken. The miso soup has a lot of seaweed and tofu and came warm, not hot. I did ask for another bowl that was hot and it was not.

    I made a reservation for mothers day and when we should up right on time we had to wait another 15 minutes to be seated. We were then seated a table that hadn't been wiped down. We then waited another 15-20 minutes to even be greeted by our server only to be told that there was almost an hour wait for food which we should have been told at the front before we were seated. When got up and left and went to the yard house who had a 0 minute wait time and the food came out at quickly.

    Took an hour and a half to get our food after we ordered. We were told multiple times it’d be out in ten minutes that went on for an hour. It was on Mother’s Day but it would be nice to have been told ahead of time that orders were backed up. Also loved the DJ but the music was very loud we couldn’t hear eachother talk.

    DJ was extremely to loud. Food took an hour to receive which would have been okay if it came out hot and fresh. But it was cold and old. Very disappointed about my special mother's day dinner. Nobody in my family likes this restaurant and only went because I wanted it and then it was horrible. Won't be able to convince them to go again.

    The worst Mother’s day dining experience ever. The hostess said our table wasn’t ready inside and they could put us outside on the patio. When we said we requested inside, they then changed it to, well it’s much quieter outside. Meanwhile a DJ (not a classy look) is blasting music so the hostesses and us were yelling to hear each other. We proceeded to a table that was shoved in the back corner that had both the inside music and the outside waterfall music going on. The table was lopsided and unsteady. We went to order from the menu and noticed the menu has changed. All of our favorites that we were expecting were not available. Then we wanted to order the angry edamame‘s. The waitress came back and said they’re not available. No plates or silverware or chopsticks were given unless asked for. The food was late and mediocre at best. We were also told that other moms that came in for Mother’s Day were disappointed in the menu, kids menu wasn’t even available. Manager skills missed the target big time. Major train wreck, and heard the same from multiple diners.

    We dine at your establishment a few times a year as well as had our company party there a few times and love the place. We dined there on Mother's Day and it was a very different story. Long story short all of our food came out cold, my wife ordered the Asian salad that came out with a massive amount of salad and four pieces of chicken. The ribeye came out cold and unseasoned as well as it was grilled then tasted like someone reheated it in a pan as it tasted like old prime rib. Mind you I have worked in food and beverage for 20 years. I was left feeling taken advantage of $234 later.

    Waited 60 minutes to receive our food, which wasn’t even served hot or warm. Another 30 minutes to get the bill. We didn’t order cocktails so perhaps we were a low priority?

    I will not go back. We had a large group (7) for Mother’s Day. The music was louder than a night club. They had a DJ? The management should be embarrassed with the ambiance and unprofessional dress of their hostesses. this was the worst Mother’s Day experience I’ve ever had. Food was over cooked and we spent $300…if not for the fact I was with my mother, wife and daughter in law I would’ve left.

    Crazy busy on Mothers day so we decided to try and sit in the bar area since reservations were running 45min - 1 hour behind. Hope said we could sit at one of the high tops and would take care of us. I believe she was one of the bartenders at the time so it was really nice of her to do that for us. She was swamped but still made the time to give us great service and really saved the visit for us. The food and drinks came out in good time and our friends and really enjoyed our time there. We will be back and will be sure to request Hope if she is on staff at the time.

    Everything was excellent except the music. It was so loud we couldn’t hear each other across the table. It was Mothers Day so my daughter and I couldn’t even have a conversation with each other. My daughter is 24 and I’m 54 and neither of us is hard of hearing. The prime rib and prawns were excellent. The best I’ve ever had! I highly recommend.

    We experienced the same as many of the other reviewers for Mother's Day. * We called on Friday to confirm the full brunch menu would be available -- bringing kids as others did and wanting the normal brunch menu which has pancakes and other kid-friendly fare. They said the full brunch menu would be available. It was not. * Waiting for a table for a bit, even with reservations, is not unexpected. We were seated about 10 minutes after our reservation time, so not bad. * DJ and hosts - for some reason Kona thought Sunday brunch would be a good time to have a night club vibe. Wicked loud music (which thankfully did get turned down so we could at least talk) and hosts that were dressed for a night out. Made me think of Ralphie in Christmas Story: "Only one thing in the world could've dragged me away from the soft glow of electric sex gleaming in the window." For a Mother's Day brunch, where young kids are to be expected, the DJ and the hosts were a bit out of place. * After being seated, we ordered after a time. A bit slow, but when busy things drag out a bit. Again, not unexpected here. But what was completely unexpected was waiting over 1.5 hours to get served. Our server and the manager indicated "we're busy as it is Mother's Day" -- to which I say, how is this different from any time at Kona? It's always busy. A full restaurant shouldn't bring them to their knees. * The manager was very professional and polite and listened to my complaints. And gave us a discount. Very nice but the damage was done. We all agreed it was the worst experience any of us has had. It will take time for us to forget this experience, which will very likely deter us from dining there again any time soon.

    Unfortunately Kona was overwhelmed and our dining experience resulted in us leaving before we ordered. Upon arriving, we were told we’d have to wait 40 minutes past our reservation time and then after finally being seated with blaring music in the back of the restaurant (we asked for patio), our poor waitress explained that food would be close to an hour coming out. We left and walked down the street to another restaurant and had a pleasant experience.

    It was just remarkably busy on Mother's day, so it took a while to get our food. (it was expected) However what wasn't expected was the food being lukewarm/cold when it arrived. We were faced with a tough choice of sending the food back and waiting another hour to get something hot and fresh, or just sucking it up and eating what we received. We chose the latter, as we didn't want to wait any longer, and it was ok at best. The server did a great job considering how many tables he had. We've been to Kona Grill several times, and overall it was the worst experience we had there, but because we expected crowds, our temperament wasn't bad. I hope this was an anomaly, and it goes back to being enjoyable again.

    I’m prefacing this review by saying that we are huge Kona Grill fans (except on days where they over-promise reservations and don’t have enough room, food, or staff)! The food was excellent, and our service was fantastic. However, the music was way too loud inside and out, and after trying to stick it out, we asked if we could move tables or if it could be turned down. They turned the music down for 20 minutes, and then cranked it back up. We were seated 15-20 minutes after our reservation time (normalish for a busy day), and didn’t get our food (even though we ordered it right away) for 2 hours and 28 minutes after our reservation time! This restaurant could not keep up with the order demands. Also, if you’re changing your menu for the event, just stick to a smaller menu. They took out the kids’ menu, (in the hopes that more adults would come and order drinks) and left rolls and other entrees that take way too long to cook, so my kids’ split $20 meals. The manager tried to make it right, but fell short with a $20 gift card for future use, and didn’t compensate a thing. Our waiters, Dylan and Kiki were on top of everything in their control. The hostess was super friendly and helpful. Kona Grill is great, when it’s not busy and chaotic!

    We had reservations for 3 people at noon on Mother's Day. We arrived, were seated and then ordered. We waited over two hours and our food still had not arrived. Finally, we told our server that we were going to pay for our drinks and leave. He said he would get the Manager over to talk to us. We waited for quite a while, the server checked back to see if the Manager had come, and we informed him he had not been there yet. Finally, the Manager came and said our food (2 salads and 2 sushi rolls - no hot food) were ready and we would not be charged for the food. Unfortunately, the other tables around us were not being served their food either (we heard one say it was an hour and a half and the other said it had been more than an hour). We even heard people say they had been waiting and hour and 1/2 to be seated for their reservation. Our server was fantastic and was doing the best he could. We tipped him very well. On top of that, the DJ was so loud you could hardly talk to one another. Not really an appropriate sound for Mother's Day.

    The prices were a little ridiculous and no kids menu due to being Mother’s Day… you would think they would have kids options especially on Mother’s Day. My children had two sides instead- Mac and cheese (which was average) and fries… each one was $9 or $18 total per child. A cup of fries is $9?!? Prices are steep for sure. The rest was ok- chicken skewers were overdone/dry, sushi was yummy though. I’ll reconsider going again just because of the prices/value. Not good enough to cost that much.

    I don't like writing this review for my wife and I really like Kona Grill. On this day, though, they did not live up to expectations. It was Mother's Day, a special day for all Mom's, and I took my wife there. We sat down at 11 a.m. and looked forward to a great experience. At noon, we still had no food. I turned on the "Call Server" button wanting to talk to our waiter. Ten minutes went by, so I was forced to get the attention of someone else walking by to ask them to please check on our food. After that, our waiter did come by to tell us that our order was "in line" but did not tell us how long it would be. Both my wife and I used to work at restaurants and we worked many Mother's Days. I know how busy they are. But I also know that waiting an hour to get a meal is not normal, or "in line". Had the waiter said, "I messed up and didn't get your order in", or "another waiter or waitress mistakenly picked up your order and gave it to someone else--the chefs are working on your order right now and I'll get it out to you as soon as I can", or "The chefs forgot your order", I would have been understanding--mistakes happen. But by not being honest and giving a valid explanation for the delay and a reasonable expectation of when it would arrive, I feel that the waiter was being disingenuous. Honesty is always the best always. If there was a screwup, say so. At about 12:20, an hour and 20 minutes after we sat down, our order was finally brought to our table. It was delicious, but the inability of the waiter to tell the truth left a very bad taste in our mouths.

    Was there for Mother’s Day. Got there at 10:45 (had reservations) didn’t get our food until an hour and half later. I understand that holidays like this are busy and crazy, but it was not a good experience. A DJ came and started playing 90’s hip hop including “I wanna sex you up” in a family establishment for brunch. Once the food did get to the table there were egg shells in my benidict, my mothers eggs weren’t cooked long enough (whites were wet and runny), she got a new dish and egg shells were in that replacement. I’ve never had a problem at Kona for Mother’s Day in the past which is why we went again, but we won’t do it again. Finally left at 1:15pm our whole day was spent in a booth. I’m not sure how Kona management can fix this issue, but I was disappointed.

    We have eaten at Kona Grill before and had great food. Not so on Mother’s Day. All three of us ordered the crab eggs benedict and two of the orders were missing items… one was the crab! And those two orders were ordered exactly as shown on the menu with no changes, The other order with one change was correct. We waited almost an hour for our food despite having a reservation.     Do not recommend this venue for holiday celebrations. Our Mother's Day brunch was very disappointing. We waited over an hour for our meal and it was cold and/or undercooked once it arrived. Our wait server was overwhelmed and exasperated as she continued to apologize to our table. Easy to observe many other tables were in the identical predicament. I can only surmise the restaurant was understaffed. Leaves me wondering what is up with the management of this establishment as reservations were required well in advance. One would think the Kona Grill would have been better prepared.

    We waited over 1.5 hours for our food to come out, when it did almost all of it was cold. We took back one dish to get a new one (also the right order, what was delivered was not correct). There was apology for the wait, but nothing else. Nothing was offered or another reason of which why we had to wait for so long. We spent a lot of money, for not much.

    Kona used to be a favorite for my family. My parents had a pretty bad experience a while back on their anniversary, and I figured it was a one off experience. After eating here for Mother's Day, I'm convinced it was not. Firstly, our server was on top of things, but she seemed to either have a bad personality, or just be having a bad day. Regardless, it was apparent to all of us, and soured the experience. While she was on top of things like refills, she was rather short, and a bit rude. When asked if a particular dish could be made without an ingredient, she said "No," and only clarified after all three of us had a bit of a shocked/confused look on our faces. Could have been handled with much more tact, as it was simply that the sauce was made in advance so the ingredient was already added. Though for their prices, making some sauce without it shouldn't have been an issue, in my opinion. And to clarify, this didn't seem to be an issue with the other servers in our area, as they seemed upbeat and professional. Second, other staff in the restaurant seemed pretty miserable. One of the managers looked grumpy, unapproachable, and under-dressed. While he was wearing a button up shirt and blazer, he was wearing jeans with embroidery on them, and his whole outfit seemed rather lazy. We were sat near the sushi bar, and both of the chefs looked very fed up and pretty miserable. And third, the food was okay, but I've had better here in the past. While my dish was good, there was no warning on my dish that it would be spicy at all, not even in the ingredients on the menu. While it was fine for me, it wasn't what I expected, and would have been to spicy for anyone else. Furthermore, it wasn't timed well with the other dishes, as it was warm, but not hot. We also ordered a drink we've had a few times before, and it was okay, but far from what we were used to it tasting like. A side note, it was loud. Not just because it was packed, but the music was cranked, unlike normal.

    Everything was great except the food unfortunately. Service was great, atmosphere was great, food was disappointing. There were seven of us we tried to like it but when it was time to be honest, we ended up eating later somewhere else. Food is overpriced, pad Thai was salty, small portions, prime rib was cold.

    Not recommended if you want to chat leisurely during meal. Loud music plus loud fountain not a good thing. Pleasant server, but a Chopped salad should have chopped ingredients (not big floppy leaves) and all ingredients listed on menu should be present.

    I invited guest to attend. Our friends order was over an hour to get one appetizer each. Very slow service and I was embarrassed and felt bad that their food had not arrived. The waitress seemed overwhelmed and was more attentive to another table. Their food and drinks arrived earlier than ours even though we were there prior to them.     Food was bland little to no seasoning! Music was loud then quiet then loud again. It was a cute restaurant I love the ambience. The food was over priced for the flavor. I heard the sushi is great there though
