Established in 2003, King’s Fish House is Carlsbad’s choice for seafood. Located just across from the Carlsbad Premium outlets and LEGOLAND, King’s Fish House features a large selection of fresh oysters, seasonal catches, sushi and live shellfish, including lobster and crab, on a menu that changes daily.

We’ve been in restaurants a little while – three generations, to be precise. A long time ago, we embarked on a road trip in search of the ultimate seafood experience. We traveled down highways and byways, pulled up a seat, put on bibs and soaked up the seafood experience: the no-name dishes with unforgettable flavor, the fresh-caught oysters and clams piled high, the hand-lettered specials on ancient chalkboards and the savory simmer of every combination of spices imaginable.

this is usually one of our favorite spots but it was a Sat night. Had reservations, thankfully, but very crowded and extremely noisy. had to wait a bit for food after ordering. I get the same thing every single time.. this time there was less than 1/2 of the garlic mashed potatoes. I think maybe they ran out? maybe 2 tablespoons is all. other than that, it was fine. service was great, trout was great. passion fruit ice tea was great.

Always a pleasure to dine at Kings. Arrived early for our reservation time, but they were able to accommodate us within a short time.

most of the time we eat there, the sides are always just warm or cold. I believe the sides come out first prior to the main dish on to the plate. Our guest had to request a hot side dish since the original was cold. Maybe that can be tweaked some. Other than that, we always enjoy our food. Thank You, John Rider
