Great food and service. Our server made sure we had our food and bill in time to see our show at the Guthrie across the street.
Small turnout with virus on the horizon. Patrons were spaced apart and the curry was boiling hot. Staff friendly as always
I frequently eat at Kindee when I go to the Gutherie. I find the LOUDNESS extremely annoying. It is not energetic it is too noisy.
Service was too slow on a Saturday night during the time leading up to the Guthrie show time. Should have had more staff for crunch time. The restaurant is a decent, moderate priced place, but I will not go there again before a Guthrie show.
We had a great server, food was good, though portions were small. Ambience was perfect and by 6:30 it was full of theatre patrons!
The atmosphere and food were okay, but not really a standout. The service was prompt and kind.
Great service - just the right amount of attention. Both of the dishes we ordered, Thai Basil Stir Fry and Cashew with Chicken were delicious and just the right amount of food.
Perfect place for a meal before seeing a show at the Guthrie. Service was efficient but not rushed. Food was tasty and portions were just right-sized.
The food was not as good this time. Normally the food is outstanding!
It was a little busy and only two servers on duty when we went so it took a while to get waited on. The food was very good. I would eat there again.
We love Kindee and usually eat here prior or following a show at the Guthrie. We had a reservation and were not acknowledged to be seated and felt like when we were seated the waiter was running by asking what we wanted, this is not the norm.
The cranberry cream cheese won tons are amazing and the vegetable and ginger stir fry are also very good. The rice on this occasion was mushy, which is also not the norm. We will go back and hope this was a stand alone experience since we have always enjoyed this restaurant.
The noise level is significant.
The food quality was very mixed. One complete failure. We were never asked how things were for us.
Wonderful food and service. Great pre-Guthrie place to go. It was very busy (perhaps because Spoonriver closed), so be sure to make reservation.
Food was delicious and quick
I said yes to the recommendation but with a caveat...it's fine. The food was good but service was truly fair. A bit rushed, assumptions, and just ok. I'll go again because it's close to the Guthrie and the food can be tasty.
Always great food and great service.
Great food, great service
I have been to Kindee many times and have nearly always loved the food. This time it was very bland. I had a noodle dish and a curry and both were very disappointing. I am not sure what went wrong, but I was not a happy diner.
Great food, great service, loud ambience. Concrete floors absorb no sound. Tables are very close to each other and you will feel you are trying hard to filter out the conversation that is 2 feet away from you. But I would definitely come back for the food for carry out or not at prime time.
Great service, and food! Our wait person was wonderful, as well as helpful when making dietary changes to our food. They were attentive, however gave plenty of space so we could enjoy our conversation and dinner. And our food was flavorful to say the least.
Love the red curry with tofu and gegetabjes
Place was packed but had reservations and seated promptly. Waited a bit to be greeted and a drink order placed or brought
Starters brought out quickly and then out entrees really quickly as well. Almost to quickly. Food was great, had plenty of time before theater that night.
Busy Friday night. Seated quickly but had a wait before our server brought water. Table top was grimy/sticky. Server was very pleasant. Appetizer and entrees arrived in a reasonable amount of time.
Always great food and fast service before Guthrie shows across the street.
Server was very slow and not very friendly. Food was bland.
Great location kitty-corner from The Guthrie. Service isn't very attentive. Had reservations for 5:45 and nobody was at the host stand and waited for someone to pay attention to us. Then after being seated, took quite some time for a wait staff to acknowledge us. However, the food arrived very quickly and was yummy. We had edamame and spring rolls to share which were tasty and I had the basil their stir fry with shrimp which was also great.
This was our first visit to Kindee and it did not start off well, but as savvy business owners , they corrected the wrong and took steps to make sure that we were well taken care of.
I had a reservation and called because the traffic from out west was bad and I indicated that we would be late. The gentleman taking the call, said "no problem". When we arrived, we were told we do not have a table for you and the hostesses was smiling and gave the impression that she did not care. We were having dinner pre theater and needed to be done in a respectable time line. She said 10-15 minute wait but hardly anyone had food at their table. We were upset and said that were going to leave but that we would write a very bad review for how this was handled. We walked across the street and were about to enter the other restaurant when the host/owner? came running after us and told us that he had a table for us. We agreed to come back.
We ordered, the service was great and the food was hot and tasty. When we asked for the bill, the server indicated that the host comped our tab. What a lovely gesture to make good on a bad situation.
We left a very generous tip and went to the play.
I say thank you to the management at Kindee for doing the right thing. The no charge was not necessary but much appreciated. We had never been there before but will certainly revisit since the food was very good.
Thanks for the opportunity to share this experience
Food was good, service was fine. It was busy with patrons eating before attending the theatre.
The food was delicious, but I got sick pretty quick afterwards. I’m not sure if that was due to my own stomach sensitivity or the food.
It was a great experience. I brought family from out of town here before attending the Guthrie. The food was great, with something for everyone. The staff was attentive and friendly. They took a picture of the table with a smile. Overall a great night out for everyone.
They ignored us for 10 minutes when we arrived. They stopped to ask if we had a reservation and when we said yes they walked away. Clearly they don’t want business. Horrible and unacceptable.
We would definitely recommend Kindee Thai to friends.
It was the perfect place to eat before heading to the Guthrie for a play.
Delicious....and extremely fast service!
Wonderful food and good value before Guthrie events.
Definitely make a reservation. The place was full the entire time we were there. It’s conveniently located near the Guthrie & is also attached to a parking ramp...perfect for parking & dining before going to Guthrie. Absolutely an affordable, enjoyable date night.
While the location was great for a pre-Guthrie meal, it wasn't a great experience for our evening.
I found the entree portions to be quite small and particularly the amount of the chosen protein added to the stir fry dishes to be sparse.
While the service was quite fast, it didn't seem particularly friendly. I don't think I saw a smile from any staff member the entire time other than the woman that greeted us when we arrived.
The food was "good" but I thought lacked the depth & boldness of flavor of most Thai food I'm accustomed to.
I always eat here if I am headed to the theater. I love their food and prices are good
We always go to Kindee before the Guthrie, and we always have the squash (or pumpkin?) curry with chicken. It has just the right amount of heat and is delicious! We try different appetizers. We love the ribs especially. They were a little tough last time, but still delicious and we will have them again!
Had dinner before a show at the Guthrie. The service was quick and friendly. The food was very good and filling.
Consistently good curries in a somewhat noisy and tight environment. We find it easy to eat there before an evening at the Guthrie.
Waiter was very much on top of the fact that we had a show in an hour. Appreciate that. I'm sure they're used to that being across the street from the guthrie. The $3 (!) upcharge for the fried rice was a waste of money. The basil chicken dish was the smallest AND most bland I've ever had at a thai restaurant. My wife enjoyed her sweet and sour dish though. Still overpriced-- spent over $50, no alcohol, pre tip. 3 stars might be generous. We won't be back.
