Kimo's Restaurant Maui
I did have to remind them of the birthday.
The waiter did a great job
We had a special request to use a table with a view for my wife's 30th birthday. The staff gave us the best table in the house for a beautiful sunset dinner. Oh ya...the food...AMAZING. absolutley delicous!! Thank you for an Experience
Always a favorite spot for a great meal, sunset views and good value for the money. Our server, Jim, was a delight. He explained the menu and answered our questions very well. The entire staff was also mindful that this was our 50th anniversary. That was so appreciated as well!
We love Kimos. Lunch or dinner at Kimos is a “must do” every time we come to Maui. The menu options are good and the food is well prepared. The service is excellent. This year’s server - Sarah - was personable, prompt, and positive. And...the sunset views are amazing.
We are in Maui many times during the year and never miss dining at Kimo’s - food is always very good.
The highlight this time was our server Katie! What an asset Kimo’s has in Katie. She by far was our favorite server this trip. What an incredible personality, very professional and made us feel like
we were her only guests. She was just awesome -
Lively restaurant with ocean view. Open air so a bit hot and humid depending on the weather. Service was friendly and efficient. Food was fresh but a bit too salty. Sweet muffins instead of bread/rolls was odd. Pasta plates and Kimo Hula Pie were large enough for two people to share.
Love this restaurant in Maui. Great food and beautiful views of the water.
Great waterfront saturday lunch experience which included ocean waves hitting the table occasionly, good location with scenic views. Our group of five each rated the food as plentiful and delicous and we all agreed to return in the near future.
We had scheduled a reservation for 6:30 pm on OpenTable. When we arrived, the two hostesses were very confused and gave us an electronic table tracking device, which was weird because we already had a reservation. So we went to the bar and ordered cocktails. 30 minutes later, I went to the host stand and checked in, as they didn't seem like they knew what they were doing. They then told me they were ready to seat us. We had to cash out at bar, then follow someone upstairs, and wait on the upstairs landing for about 5 minutes while he checked that our table was ready (which obviously it was not). The food was good, not great. Service was fine. Later that night I got an email from OpenTable saying that we did not show up for our reservation. It seemed that no one knew what they were doing, which is irritating when trying to have a nice Friday night out.
A fun evening! Our waiter, Phillip, helped to make it so! Fish cooked perfectly, wine list good. A classic Maui restaurant.
Very disappointing service & food. Took more than 25 minutes to get the muffins & soup we ordered, & before our server even returned to take our entree order. When my steak arrived I could barely cut it with my steak knife. The server finally returned & I told her the problem, to which she replied, " I'm sorry you're not enjoying it." Maybe it's just me, but it's hard to enjoy food that's inedible! Another piece was finally brought, which was better, but my husband had finished his meal & I lost my appetite. We were eligible for a free hula pie promotion & that was good. When the bill came we were charged for two entrees for me & the server had just told the manager I didn't "enjoy" it instead of the fact that it was tough & fatty. So it took another conversation with him to have those entree charges removed. He was appropriately apologetic & she had not given him the facts. Meanwhile, the server had taken my leftover steak & never came back with it for 20 minutes, even though she came back to her area several times. At that point I wasn't sure where it had been & told them I didn't want it. The whole ordeal left a bad taste in my mouth. It seems that this restaurant group is living off its prior reputation & tourists that may not know better, but quality & service has gone down.
Outstanding service, snd the food is delicious! We always enjoy Kimo’s
We enjoyed a dinner there that was very tasty. Make sure you save room for a Hula Pie for dessert. Our waiter was very friend and helpful. Would recommend to our friends.
We stumbled on this place. Amazing. Highly recommend
Food was very good. I had the marlin cooked in a Thai sauce that was delicious. Hubby had Ono which was Parmesan crusted and very good. The cheesecake was not great - bland and the crust was soggy.
Kimo's consistently provides a great dining experience without fail. Our server, Jim, facilitated a great evening for my wife and me and our guests.
I have always find Kimo’s to be the place for a excellent dinner with friends and family. I have never been disappointed when I go to Kimo’s for Dinner or Lunch. The Hula Pie is to die for. Just an amazing experience.
We go to Kimo's at least once each trip to Maui and we have been going since it opened i 1977. This trip we went for lunch and dinner and on both occasions it was perfect.
Always crowded, always noisy, always good! Maybe the most uncomfortable chairs in the bar patio but the view makes up for it. I might see if I can start a Cushion Rental Concession!😁 Food is always good. Fresh fish Kimo’s style, prime rib or the Kushiayki are our favorites. You
We were very disappointed with our first visit to Kimo’s. We had 7:30 pm dinner reservations for table of 5. Our hostess sat us in the upstairs dining room (no air conditioning and very warm) at a table for four with a fifth seat on the end, very tight seating arrangement, note the upstairs dining room had several larger tables to accommodate a group of 5. I mention this to the hostess and our waiter but they were not motivated to suggest an option.
Our waiter, David did a nice job considering the challenges the kitchen presented with our orders. I ordered the prime rib that came with cold mashed potatoes, David brought out fresh steaming hot potatoes immediately. My daughter ordered the Ahi tuna, seared rare, it arrived well done. Again, David swept her plate away and returned with tuna seared at the right temperature. My wife ordered the Teriyaki Sirloin cooked medium, it arrived well done (shoe leather), at this point our dinner timing is all over the board. My wife decided to cancel her steak since everyone was finished their meals. David voided her steak from the check.
I was very surprised that no one from management made an effort to apologize for the horrible experience! We will not be going back to Kimo’s!
Did not call to tell me they was closed drove over 45mins
We went twice in a row. The view is perfect and the food is delicious.
My family makes it a point to go here every time was are in Maui. The atmosphere is great and the food is always delicious. It's always fun to wait at the bar for our table.
Server was fantastic!
Very nice dinning. Enjoyed the view of the bay from our 2nd floor table. Service was quick and professional. Good experience
Food C- blah blah
Service is excellent. Food was mediocre for the price. My wedge salad had dressing that had a rancid taste...two of our group tasted it and had same reavtion.
Great for lunch but avoid for dinner.
Excellent service, fresh seafood and good value. Upstairs seating pretty cool.
My husband ordered surf and turf and the prime rib was mostly fat. I have ravioli with grilled tofu and the ravioli was swimming in some cream sauce, really gross.
The entire restaurant was pretty empty but that sat us upstairs where it was hot and stuffy. I would not waste my money here again.
A fantastic evening in our recent visit to Maui. We got lucky with one of the last available reservations and it was amazing! Great spot on the water. Cocktails were awesome and the food was incredible!
The food was very good. I would go back again.
Decent food, good service. Nothing to write home about, but I would go again for the seats outside with the lovely view. We got some great pictures of the sunset. Actually can’t remember what I ate, not memorable—good or bad. Kids got chicken sandwiches that they liked.
Best place for dinner on the island for food, service, ambiance and price combined. Don’t miss it!
We had several families meet at Kimo’s for dinner. The Kimo’s baked fish was so delicious. Server was very polite and attentive. The hostess tried her best to seat us near each other. Great atmosphere. It is a bit hot upstairs compared to downstairs but you can’t beat the ocean views, especially at sunset.
Kimo's is a great place to go for delicious food and cocktails!
Kimo’s for wife’s 50th Birthday. Always one of our favorites on Maui. They really know how to cook fish.
Fun place to enjoy a casual lunch or dinner. Our server, Sasha, was truly wonderful! Great mai tais, good food, nice portions and beautiful water view. Reserve a table near sunset time. You will be happy you did.
It was just ok. Over rated. Service was slow and had to ask for everything. Our waitress was almost non-existent. Probably would only come back for dessert.
