Kimo's Restaurant Maui
Wonderful spot in Lahaina.
40th Anniversary.reservation-seat by ocean. Put in corner on 2nd fl. With small view
The view was awesome, the food was good the issue was we had a 5:00 reservation and this place is an open air restaurant with no AC except for in the bathroom. Needless to say the sun was beating in on our row of tables and by the time they dropped the sun screen we were extremely hot and ruined our appetite. They really need to invest in fans on the awnings where the first row of tables are to help keep their customers cool.
Went to Kimo’s to celebrate a birthday of a wonderful lady. Got there early and sat in bar listening to lovely live music and enjoy a fabulous sunset, we were then seated upstairs with a great view, the food, service and entire experience was great and ended with a complimentary hula pie. Overall very nice evening
We have been to Kimo’s every time we have come to Maui. It’s our “special “ treat. I was just a bit disappointed this time with the menu. It has changed quite a lot since our last trip and I used to be able to count on the filet mignon being just perfect, but this time the ingredients posted on the menu did not sound appetizing to me. My disappointment !! I went with the Prime Rib Instead. There were also different cooking styles for the fish but per the server, you could only get certain fish with certain styles. It would’ve been better to pick your fish and pick your style. Our fish lovers were disappointed too. And they didn’t have Ono fish like they have ALWAYS had in the past. Disappointed again !! Of course, the Hula pie was delicious still but I remember it being made with coffee ice cream before Instead of Macadamia nut ice cream this time. I’m sure we will be back again but only after checking the menu first to see if they offer what we come here for.
The restaurant is located on the ocean side and the views are stunning. The service was great and our server was lovely and helpful. The food was the biggest let down honestly.. my husband and I were left wondering what everyone likes about the food! He got the crusted ahi, and the only thing edible on his plate was the ahi itself, but it wasn’t great. It came with a wasabi sauce that wasn’t interesting or flavorful. Also some slaw and unsalted rice pilaf. Mine was even worse.. I got shrimp pasta and quite literally, there was no rice or reason to my dish. Some shrimp, naked pappardelle, kale and raw tomatoes. It has some zucchini shavings too. The lack of sauce made it the least cohesive pasta dish I’ve ever seen. I wanna say it has butter and lemon, but nothing that coated the ingredients. Kids’ food was honestly even worse. One got a super over cooked burger, just cheese and a patty. The kids pasta was some OVERCOOKED shells with again, no salt. So again, not sure what the hype is about this place, but if we go back again, it’d be to grab a drink at the bar and enjoy the sunset (not the food).
Anniversary date. Sunset view was lovely but everything else was average at best. We have been two times prior but won’t be back again. Service was awful. Never got our appetizer and took 20 min to get a beer. Marlin and Prime Rib were good but vegetable side was barely cooked past raw. Overall, this place is no longer worth a visit when you have a limited number of days in paradise. Skip it other than maybe dropping by the bar for the view.
Everything was excellent. The only complaint was my ceaser salad, the lettuce wasn't crisp and the croutons were stale. Lettuce was soggy.
Sorry....just thought you would want to know.
We come to Kimo’s every time we are in Maui. Can’t beat the location on Front St, and great ambiance!
Dining at Kimo's was an awesome experience! The waiter was knowledgeable and the food was delicious. The ambiance was comfortable for casual dining or for a special night out. And the live entertainment made it a fun time!
Kimos is our favorite restaurant in Lahaina!
Excellent service and delicious food 😊
Been going here for 20 years, have cut menu and portions are ridiculous for the price, Ted and Sandy would have never put out this product or experience. Will not be returning.
Was we 33 anniversary and we like the vista of the océano., food was pretty good...tank You
Great service and food! A must stop for those looking for great quality in food, service and ambiance.
Local roasted veggies and fish was amazing!
Kimo’s is a must on your trip to Maui! I’ve enjoyed dinning here since 1981 and it has always been wonderful! We had Erika as our server and she was very welcoming and knowledgeable. She was so upbeat and fun! Really made our dinner extra special. The views are unsurpassed. The food was fantastic! The sashimi is truly the best on the island. They had 5 different fish to choose for their main dish special preparations. Such a treat! Thank you Erika! Thank you Kimo’s!
Meh. Nothing special but the view.
Excellent view from the restaurant—right on the water. Excellent food.
Birthday dinner. Took quite a while for food then arrived cold. Server very polite send back to kitchen. New food arrived delicious. Never acknowledged birthday and was then charged twice for both entrees. Made this aware to server and he made sure meals we’re comped. Still no gestures regarding birthday.
Our experience there was amazing! We celebrated our anniversary and it did not disappoint with an excellent view and the service and food!
All of our Food was cold... both my fish and my husbands fish was rubbery. Tasted worse than frozen Morton’s fish. Cold on top and warm on bottom. Sides were undercooked and cold.
Service was good. Setting was nice..but food was NOT good. Tourist trap.
My wife and I visited this restaurants due to a recommendation from the hotel staff. We both got the "Kimo's Style" preparation on the fish that was offered and it was amazing. We haven't found anything to compare yet.
We ate here twice during our stay in Maui because it was just that good! The ambiance, food, and service were great both times and what we envision for a beach side restaurant. For food, we had the sesame crusted ahi, burger, pork ribs, and the filet mignon - all were delicious. Drinks were good also, but I wish the Kucumber Kocktail was in a bigger glass. It was super tasty, but once you get the limes and the cucumber and the mint in there, not a lot of room for the actual drink. Mai Tai was delicious (and in a nice big glass). We sat in the the lower dining room area with an ocean view. Ask for the red menu also if you want to order from the bar options (burgers) while sitting in the dining room. Highly recommend.
Kimo’s was a great location with a beautiful view. The staff was very friendly & attentive, I think besides or waitress there was designated staff keeping our water water full and someone else taking care of our cocktails. I had the prime rib & didn’t realize it was slow cooked. I was expecting a grilled steak & it tasted more like a roast from a crockpot. My wife enjoyed her meal & overall was pleased with the place.
One of the best restaurants we've ever been to! The food, service and ambience were all top notch!! A must visit if you are on the west side of Maui.
Along the tourist strip. Food was excellent.
The service was great! Our server Josh was outstanding and the view was gorgeous, definitely a great place to spend your anniversary
It’s frustrating to make a reservation, show up on time, and wait around to be seated. We respected your time. Please respect mine. Alternatively don’t allow people to make reservations. Food was good service was mediocre. Location location location.
Local fish cooked perfectly. Hula pie was amazing!
Excellent meal and Hula Pie is the best!!
Great way to celebrate our anniversary ♥️
Food was okay, but not awesome for the price.
We came back to Hawaii to trace the steps of our honeymoon 50 years ago. We have been back many times. Been here two weeks. Everyone has been most kind. KIMO’s staff has gone above and beyond. So much so we decided to go back a second time for our last night in Maui. From PENNY at the front desk, to our two waiters ETHAN AND DAVE. Plus all the others we recognized by sight. Not only is the food exceptional. The staff was phenomenal. Thank you all. See you soon.
The Boghosian’s. Nicholas and Nancy.
The atmosphere was great for our honeymoon dinner date.
Amazing location with good food. Price to food quality was disproportionate. I would go back.
Penny was exceptionally as always. Service was great Everyone enjoyed their fish entree.
We went a second time the next night because the food was so good. Fantastic fresh fish dishes. The Hula pie is enormous.
