As always, great food. Waitstaff was warm & friendly. However, I ordered a set of sides to-go when I placed my main order, and when the meal was over, I noticed they forgot to include the sides with the other "doggie bag" food left over from our meal. When I pointed it out, they set to work immediately to complete the order. We had already settled a bill that was several hundred dollars, but the $20 in sides was not part of the original bill. I was pretty disappointed to have been charged for my inconvenience that resulted from their oversight. I pointed out my disappointment as I paid the bill. They took the money and didn't even bother to send a manager over to apologize for the mistake or it delaying our departure. I'd expect that kind of service from a fast food chain (well, not "expect it" - most of them would actually make it right... but I would "understand it"), but for a fine dining establishment, this kind of service is well below par. I hope their management sees this review and educates its staff on more appropriate handling of situations such as these.
As always, a most wonderful experience.
Food was excellent!
We are beer drinkers and found the beer menue disappointing. No classic Pilsner or Lager. Only fancy IPAs and English ales. Out of 18beers there was not much for German taste buds. The competition at Mastros and Steak48 has a better selection on beers.
Excellent food! Our waiter Larry did an excellent job with suggestions & wine pairings. Great dinner for a special occasion.
Been here many times but this time not happy with either of our steaks, Tough and not the normal quality we have received in the past.
Birthday dinner. Went early and had very few others in the restaurant. Worked perfectly!
Was somewhat disappointed as reviews indicated that an exceptional dining experience could be expected. Service was indifferent and we had to request spices (not on table) and bread that was never delivered. Both orders were for the filet mignon entree and one was very good and the other was a little grainy. Au gratin potatoes and brussel sprouts were very good.
All in all - we have had better service by far at Saltgrass and comparable steaks at a much better price. Gave Killen's a try anyway but probably will not go back. Didn't live up to the hype.
My food was over cooked but still good, it was almost well done. I also ended up sick all night as did the person I went with. We shared two desserts so I’m guessing that’s how we got sick.
I have been to Killen's Steakhouse for the last two years roughly on the same date celebrating a birthday. The same steak was ordered both times. The first time the steak was of very nice quality. This time the steak was sub-par. It makes me wonder if I ever want to return. The previous week, I ate at Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steak and the steak was of a much higher quality for a similar cut.
Best steakhouse for miles upon miles. I'm very particular when it comes to steak and normally will not order restaurant steaks. I think I can grill them at home much better! When it comes to this place though, yes, bring me one of your yummy steaks, please! But it doesn't stop there, everything on the menu is top notch. A great place to take friends or loved ones for special occasions or just to indulge in heavenly food. Can't wait to come back!
Vic & Anthony’s blew Killen’s out the water. Service we had was great, the guy was amazing! We went for our wedding anniversary, so we made a reservation, got there and they couldn’t find any reservation, and did nothing for us for the occasion. Even once we told the server why we were there. Not horrible by any means, just expect more when paying $150 for a meal.
Went to celebrate our 18th wedding anniversary, as we arrived the hostess immediately greeted us and promptly took us to our table with a nice anniversary card from the Killens staff. Vanessa was our server and was excellent throughout our entire experience. It's nice to see such polished and professional service again. Food was spectacular as usual. Steaks cooked to perfection.
Service was outstanding! My steak did not rise to the standards I expected at Killen’s, but everything else did.
Went to Killen’s to celebrate an employee anniversary. His Halibut looked fantastic. My dry-aged ribeye was way over-cooked. I ordered med-rare +. It was at least med-well+. I didn’t really have the chance to send it back as our waiter literally stood and talked to a nearby table for 15-20 mins. Seriously. I timed it...with his back to our table most of the time. My employee eats fast and he would have had to wait 30+ mins for me to get another steak and eat it. It was his night, not mine. Nobody stopped by to ask how our meal was or if the steak was cooked properly. I wouldn’t drive out of the way again to get an over-cooked steak at $100+ per person. Btw, the sides are huge. They really need a small or half order option so food isn’t wasted.
Great service, friendly staff! Enjoyed it and will come again.
As first time guests the experience was excellent. We look forward to our next visit!
Killen's is always good and always delivers. The food, ambience and service were fantastic. Daniel our waiter was outstanding.
Larry is the best server! What great looks like in service
This has to have been the most disappointing culinary "steakhouse" experience I've ever had aside from being served plastic in my food at Outback Steakhouse. I've eaten at Alexander's in San Francisco, The Cut in Beverly Hills, Peter Lugers in Brooklyn and so on. I can tell you that all of these fine establishments know the difference between a rare steak and a medium-well one...Killen's Steakhouse does not.
I ordered the $195 NY Steak Flight and what came out were four overly cooked pieces of quality meat. The meat was sourced well but whoever was in charge of the kitchen must have come from working at Outback Steakhouse the night before. Each medallion was cooked at different levels (anywhere from medium-well to well, even though I ordered them all rare). The general manager attempted to make it right by not even hesitating to take my plate back to the kitchen; but once again, the steaks came out less than par. They were all heavily over-seasoned and it was difficult to tell if I was eating a perfect cut of Waygu or eating a block of salt and pepper. Additionally, the other person I was eating with ordered a medium-rare filet which turned out to be well-done. Nine steaks in total that night. Zero were correct.
Overall, the waiters, bartenders, managers, and everyone around the restaurant were great but the reason we came to Killen's Steakhouse was for the food. I would never go here again nor world I recommend it to anyone who appreciates a real steak. Over a $400 bill and I feel like I could have got a better meal at Longhorn Steakhouse.
It was great
Reservations were at 6:30 and we were seated at 6:30. Service was good foods delicious food great
Great nice place great food
Yes but not the beef tartare. Had me sick all night long.
Service and food were beyond excellent and the ambience was fabulous.
Terrific steaks. Desserts mediocre. After a wonderful meal, no expresso coffee. Mediocre coffee to top off a terrific steak. Not in top tier restaurants.
Fancy date night, high-level business meetings or just trying to impress somebody who's out of your league because you want to get laid. You can never go wrong on Killen's.
My favorite restaurant and the only restaurant I order a steak from. Always perfect!
The service here is excellent. They have high attention to detail and an in depth knowledge of the food and drink components of the menu. They are attentive during the dining experience without it feeling like they are constantly checking on you.
The food quality is in the top tier of Houston area restaurants.
My only complaint is that the large open concept dining area tends to get rather loud when they are full so conversation can be a bit strained.
Our only problem was with noise level. Hard to carry on a conversation with people at our table.
This is our umpteenth time here. We have always loved Killen's. I will say that the noise level was pretty horrible this time as they had a large group of about 20 in the main dining area and the more they drank, the louder the talking/yelling and high pitched shrieks of the women became. It was terrible because we had to start yelling across our table to hear each other. So not very pleased with the fact they allow these large groups in the main dining floor and not off to one of the side rooms.
Killen's manages a great team and are well prepared to in making your time there pleasant. The waitress, Meaghan was knowledgable, professional, respectful and accommodated our requests. I met the manager Chad who was nice to stop by our table after dinner and welcome us, ask us how our service and dinner were. I got the impression that he was looking to make on the spot correction if necessary. From the utensils to the atmosphere, to the hostess to the cooks, they really run a great program at Killen's in service and quality of food. Not a missed detail.
Great place for date night or an intimate dinner. I was impressed with this quite place in the middle of Pearland Tx. My food was great. Recommend the pork belly appetizer.
It was a little loud when I visited. Not everybody was dressed business casual like what was recommended for the dress code. But overall food was excellent! Our waiter was excellent also!
My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary there. The ambiance, the food and the staff made our day more special.
If you’re looking for a “treat yo self”night,
this is the place to go. Every course was perfect, starting with the complimentary bread and ending with the decadent chocolate truffle cheesecake. Cocktails were crafted with the finest of liquors and helped start the engine on this culinary adventure. Let the Wagyu filet mignon be your driver while you and the potato au gratin ride sidecar. Our waiter Randy was a charming guide during the whole journey. #napkinrose Highly, highly recommend to anyone who has taste buds and a stomach.
We were met by a very friendly staff. Our waiter, Randy, was very knowledgeable about every food item and helped us make a good selection. He made our dinner very enjoyable.
Excellent! Just for some odd reason the water always taste terrible.
One of the best, if not THE BEST, that we have found in the area. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming. The food is perfectly prepared every time and always so delicious. We would recommend Killen’s Steakhouse to everyone.
