Food was good but not great for the price. Our waiter pronounced some of the dishes wrong. He was a great waiter other than that.

Had a wonderful experience at Kenichi Pacific! Best steak I’ve had in Hawaii thus far. The fish was also really fresh. Staff was very attentive. Like how they sell discounted gift cards at Costco.

This was our first visit to Kenich and we were quite impressed. We were given the option of dining off the Happy Hour menu or the full dinner menu and we chose the full dinner menu because it offered the opportunity to order some of their entrees that we had read about in reviews. Every food choice was excellent; elegantly prepared and very tasty. The seafood trio was excellent and came with one of the largest lobster tails I had ever seen (and I have had lobster in Maine where their lobsters are huge). I also want to shout out the seafood risotto and the citrus chicken. We had read some reviews that complained about slow service but our experience was excellent. We were in and out in about an hour and were never rushed. My recommendation: order a variety of dished and be ready to share. We can't wait to come back!

We’ve eaten many times over the years and have enjoyed this place thoroughly. This last experience was different. Sat on the dinner side and it took 30 minutes before we even had a waitress take a drink order. Then it took 20 minutes to get our drinks. Had been there almost an hour before we got our food ordered. Once ordered, the food came pretty quickly. Quality of the food is good. Menu has changed and some of our favorite rolls are gone. It’s clear something different compared to previous experiences.

Kenichis has always been one of our favorite restaurants in town and we decided to celebrate our anniversary with dinner there and were so excited, however when we arrived we were greeted in a way that we were upsetting everyone because they were closing 2 hours early and we had a reservation. After being seated our server was very unprofessional and unfriendly , didn’t ask what drinks we wanted and then said that the kitchen is closed so to “figure out everything we want and put it in at the same time as soon as possible” upon that we looked at the menu to find the entire menu changed, everything we loved before was gone and replaced with in our opinion, foods that weren’t as home style and Japanese style as we preferred before. The entire vibe was weird and the music was so loud and odd we almost felt they were trying to drive us out with it. We did enjoy the couple appetizers we got! We loved this place, we just had a really bad experience and it made us unsure if we would return.

I had the 8 oz. Filet Mignon cooked medium rare. It cuts like butter and very tender. It came with 4 shishito peppers. Sides are extra, and so I had a mixture of mushrooms. I had 2 unagi nigiri to start with and these were delicious.
