Was a little loud. But good and service. Very good
The food was ok. Salad was incredibly overdressed. Sushi came out very quickly, but like almost too quickly to where it’s likely all pre sliced.
We sat right by the entrance and every time they went to seat a new table they yelled right in our ears what I assume is “welcome” in Japanese. Definitely a distraction during an expensive meal.
Our server was nice and attentive.
Unlikely to be back.
The food was sensational. Service was on point. Great dinner in a great atmosphere.
It was superb! Loved it!
We celebrated birthday.
Everything was great, from the service, the food and the overall experience.
Highly recommend !!!
Consistently good Katsuya experience.
Great service, great food, great cocktails. The crispy brussels sprouts, lobster tempura and tomahawk short rib are a must!!
Very fresh and tasty. From tempura to Cal roll to specialties of yellowtail n jalapeño and albacore with crispy onions, a hit! Great, chilled, perfect martinis. Valet parking. Nice crowd. Casual and business casual.
Food wasnt as good as i usually remember
Food tasted like it was served from a lunch truck.
The tomahawk was the best I’ve ever tasted. Will be coming back!
Chefs did a great job so did our server
NYE : Music was terrible and way too loud. Everyone was shouting to get heard. Service was OK for the most part but slow. Food was good, not great. Lobby was freezing with AC blasting...seriously!
It was just fine, but not great. The food was good but the service was kind of bland.
Great place, good food and service, could be a little cleaner for a $$$ place
Good is overrated. Everything is soaked in soya sauce even the sashimi. It’s mainly targeted for western audiences that may not have been to Japan. Some dishes are great.
Server keep forgetting the ginger and wasabi we requested including the drink we ordered. He lacks attention to detail.
The miso soup was bland and you can tell it’s from a packet. Overall overpriced for what been served.
Food was good, drinks were disappointing and service left a lot to be desired. It took 20 minutes for the server to even come greet us and take our drink order. An hour after ordering we still hadn’t received one of the plates. Ended up canceling the order and leaving. Despite enjoying the sushi we would not dine-in again.
First time trying Katsuya...very impressed! Took my family before seeing Hamilton at the Pantages. Perfect location, we were lucky to get a reservation (even on a Tuesday). Ordered the Chef's Sushi combo for two. Almost too much to eat. Super fresh fish, beautifully presented. All the other dishes were spot on as well. And I highly recommend the deserts!!! Not inexpensive, but a good value for the quality and location. Kid friendly. Definitely going back...
Definitely one of the best sushi restaurants in Los Angeles. So much better than the overhyped sushi places we all hear about. The food was excellent service was fast and attentive the staff was really nice and friendly. The Korean short rib was unreal and we really enjoyed the special spicy tuna roll.
We had a blast and the food was amazing!
Beautiful atmosphere. Sat at the sushi bar because that was the only place open. They need to remove chairs as it is much too cramped. One of us was sitting on the end and was able to move his chair, that's the only way we were able to fit comfortably. We are not big people.
On our way to see Hamilton!
Perfect spot at 5 pm, for a leisurely dinner before the show!
The food is always delicious and the service is fab!
Always a really positive experience and wonderful food. Don't like the digital menu at all. Spent most of the time looking for rolls instead of enjoying family at the table. Looking at the menu on a small phone was very frustrating.
I went there for pre-theater dining with my girlfriends . All the dishes recommended by our server were good and they got us out in good time for the musical.
Food was very good. I eat a plant based diet but my dinner partner does not and we both had plenty to eat and left satisfied.
Service was quick, efficient and extremely courteous. We were pre-theater dining and no issue with time.
Did feel the noise level as the place filled up was a notch higher than one might like for private conversation but not a big problem.
Will definitely return.
P.s. Also the wine we had by the glass was better than I’ve had at most places when you don’t specify. Thumbs up.
Great overall experience. Love the vibe and atmosphere.
Loved everything we ordered!!!
Katsuya is our go-to dinner place whenever we see a play at Pantages.
Exceptional service and food quality! Can't wait to go back!
We were pressed for time to see West Side Story. When greeted at the table they immediately asked if we were seeing a show at The Pantages. Sharing our agenda, they were respectful, lightning fast with food preparation/cocktails and overall amazing.
The restaurant was able to provide a private space for a dinner business meeting. Being in a quieter area allowed us to discuss and complete paperwork while enjoying a delicious array of items. The food was served as soon as it was prepared, so we received an appetizer, then another, and eventually had our five items on the table. The server, Frankie, kept checking back with us to make sure we liked the food, if we needed any additional food or beverages, and knowing we had to complete business by a certain time, she offered the bill as soon as she was certain we would not be ordering additional items. This allowed us to pay the bill early, so as soon as business was over, we could exit. We will come here again - next time to just relax and enjoy the food and drinks.
Amazing food and service. Soooo satisfied)
Our server Sam was fantastic. So much fun
Always amazing. Big fan of these guys. They do it right and rival the best sushi places in LA.
We had made a reservation for dinner before the show to make it a great night out. Although we arrived early, the restaurant was able to accommodate us immediately and we settled in for a fantastic dinner. Our service was excellent and our server, Mario, was attentive to an allergy and caught a dish that came out before it could be consumed and ruin the evening with an allergic reaction. Everything was fantastic, and the only lower point of the evening was being seated in the smaller room which was dark, a bit noisy and not in the main dining area. Overall, I strongly recommend to anyone who wants a great spot with delicious food and cocktails in Hollywood!
It appeared that our server was either inexperienced or a flake. We’d have to get another server find him and bring him to our table. He would take one person’s order and then disappear, and then come back and take another person‘s order and disappear. Overall the whole night was discombobulated, and we couldn’t enjoy the food. I’ve been to the Katsuya in Brentwood as well as Glendale, and never had this kind of experience.
Great food and service. A little loud but nice ambience
Excellent! Food was great, service was OUTSTANDING.
Food is very good, but service is very slow.
