I was very impress by the DJ, the service was perfect, but the food was serve to fast and overall to greasy. the Brussel sprouts were override and lost any type of taste , the shrimp not well cook and lukewarm, so overall great place but the kitchen did not perform

We had dinner at Katsuya Hollywood prior to attending a show at the Pantages. We informed the staff of our curtain time and they accommodated us. Reminded my of Broadway theatre district. The service was excellent and the food superb. We walked across the street to the theatre with plenty of time to spare. It was a really nice dining experience and no stress.

Food is not what it used to be. The crispy rice was stale & tasted like it had sat for a while. Half of the rock shrimp didn’t have sauce etc.

It was so magnificent! My partner and I arrived 15min early so we waited at the bar and ordered appetizers until our table was ready. Once it was ready we were ready to eat and split the Sushi Set! If you’re a sushi lover I definitely recommend getting it, it’s the best deal for high quality pieces of sushi! We also ordered a cold sake and it was perfect as well as our Michu for dessert. Loved Katsuya and definitely recommend it as an upscale option!

Food was exceptional. Service was okay, a little slow. Our server disappeared for a good while and nobody came to pick up our empty dishes until we flagged someone down to get them. It is loud in there. Be prepared to yell your conversation with your dinner party. But again, the food is exceptional.

This year"s Dine LA menu selections make for an outstanding deal. The portions are generous. We had the crispy rock shrimp and yellowtail jalapeno (sashimi) as our first course. For entrees we had the miso glazed black god and the tomahawk short ribs. Everything was delicious. The only dry note (literally) was the miso chocolate we both had to end our meals. It was supposed to be served with a scoop of green tea ice cream, but alas there was none on our plates.

Terrible service. Food was not only not worth the price(I’m the first to pay top dollar for top quality) but towards the end I saw our sushi chef take his phone out of his pocket and send a few text messages on it and then he put it back in his pocket and went back to making sushi rolls with his bare hands unwashed. Absolutely repulsive. Will never go back.

A+ score. Food is delicious, whether you like sushi or steak. There were 6 of us, all with different food selections, fried rice was amazing, vegetarian options were plenty, many non-fish eater options. Appetizers were fantastic. Ambiance and energy was very L.A.. Servers were attentive. Food came quickly. We all enjoyed our dinner very much. It was about $100 per person, w/out alcohol.

Loved the ambiance and the food! Highly recommend the rock shrimp, brussel sprouts, yellowtail roll, and special spicy tuna roll. The food came out quickly and our waiter was very accommodating for our large party. Only thing I preferred was for there to be better lighting - it was hard to read the menus.

Friends were going to the Pantages so we met for dinner before the show. Everything at Katsuya was great. Very hip vibe. DJ playing just loud enough to be festive and not overbearing. My friends left their car at the valet, walked to the Pantages, and at the end of the night, walked back to their car and were already driving home while most of the theater were still stuck in the other parking lots.
