Katsuya Hollywood is one of my favorite spots for date night or dinner with friends. Not only is it beautiful with a peaceful, chic vibe, the food is exquisite. Complex, divine flavors with many options! We started with Spicy Edamame and Popcorn Rock Shrimp followed by the divine Robata Zucchini and Asparagus. Then we topped off the meal with Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice, Rock Shrimp Tempura and the Cauliflower Tofu Roll. Don’t forget to start with the refreshing, tasty Katsuya Fresh on the rocks!
Very good. Tartar tuna was very delicious.
The fooooooooooooood ❤️❤️❤️
Great upscale chain, not to be confused with Katsu-ya Izakaya. The food is unique, fresh and pricey. The wait staff was impeccable and friendly. The cost was pretty high, (around 75-100 per person) and compared to other high-end sushi places like Nobu or Matsuhisa for relatively the same amount, I would probably choose one of the other, but Katsuya had a nice chill ambiance.
Katsu is a wonderful restaurant in every way. The food is even better recently.
I love Katsuya but the only thing that I’m not satisfied was the service. It took so long for our order to get serve. We ordered the Katsuya classic, new classic, teriyaki chicken bowl, and sashimi. We would like to order more but because of the slow service and we are running out of time (we had to catch our show at Pantages). They also didn’t refill our drinks. We are unhappy customers 😌
We love Katsuya and while we tend to order our favorite foods time and again, we also try new dishes and are never disappointed.
Mom and I eat at this Katsuya before going to the Pantages. It is pretty much the only sushi place I like since moving back from Maui. The hamachi sashimi and the albacore sashimi are so tender they MELT in my mouth. No teeth needed lol.Felix, our usual awesome server, was not there last night, but Brace was awesome (and a nice looking ginger!). The hostesses are ALWAYS gorgeous and fabulous! We get our usual table 1 and love it. Mom devoured her maguro. Get the Brussels sprouts. Love the corn crunch roll and handheld crab roll. My iced green tea was never empty. Best service. Always so kind. I’ve been to other Katsuya locations, but this, by far, is my fave.
Had a lot of sushi. This is perhaps the best. Signature cocktails were too pricey. But overall excellent experience - highly recommend.
Excellent food. Fresh sushi and very original dishes based on basic food combinations. The Spicy Tuna On crispy rice is to die for... My son and I enjoyed the ribeye steak cooked to perfection. The Wagyu beef fried rice was a little under cooked. But the beef was fantastic. The service was on point and exceptional. The convenience to the Cinerama Dome and the Pantages is a huge plus with abundant parking half a block away.
Great food and great service. Made a reservation same day on a Friday and had no problem getting in. The albacore crunchy onion appetizer is amazing!!
Would definitely return!
First out of state vacation with my potential future WIFEY ;);)! We enjoyed multiple sushi rolls and beverages..wrapped it all up with a Chocolate Lovers cafe dessert with Vanilla ice cream. How appropriate “chocolate and vanilla”!!! Nevertheless, Brace was great, kept the food and beverages flowing, made sure my kicks were good after soy sauce spilled on the floor and took care of us all night. Luv Katsuya and we’ll be back..very soon! Merci!
Beautiful decor, classy ambiance, prompt service and amazing food. Delicious sushi variety, with interesting twists/ingredients.
We really enjoyed our evening there and will return.
Good food. They forgot one item that I had ordered but quickly brought when I branch to their attention. Everything was very tasty. Definitely on the pricey side but good for a nice outing.
Took about 25 minutes for us to be greeted at our table.
The food is very average.
Ordered the lunch special signature, so average.
Japanese restaurant doesn’t even have udon.
Coke was fountain, so flat.
Delicious food! Excellent service! Only complaint is that it’s pricey!!
Pretty mediocre based on the fabulous sushi that is now available in Los Angeles. Way too pricey as well. More of a tourist social crowd than food knowledgeable patrons.
Second time there this month; it was fantastic. We look forward to the next time. We love the bartender Mario. Very friendly, helpful & knowledgeable.
We always love the warm staff and delicious food! Amazing fresh Sushi
Perfect place to dine before going to the theater. Located down the street from the Pantages Theater, and has valet parking that you can park for dining and the show. ($20).
My friends love the Rainbow sushi, and I love the chicken salad, or the chicken teriyaki -(I’m not a sushi lover!). Reservations are strongly suggested.
Great time as always! Loved the food and cucumber sake along with the fun setting. We had a great lunch!
Special dinner for the occasion of my visit to Hollywood. Loved it: my favorites were the chef signature sushi and the sake cocktails
If you are looking for premiere sushi with a great experience, Katsuya is it! Not only is it a great vibe (they have a DJ play on weekend nights), the food is delicious and not overly expensive either. Great rolls, fish, and other dishes make Katsuya the best sushi spot in Los Angeles. Plus, they have one of the best happy hours! My favorite sushi place in Los Angeles!
Horrible experience. We felt like our waiter was prioritizing other customers as we were in the restaurant for over two hours because we never got checked on. Our waiter didn’t do anything except take our order. Even the bus boy did a better job at asking us if we needed anything. They also brought out an extra dish on accident and set it down on the table, then came back just grabbed it again and pretended to walk to the kitchen and then gave it to the table next to us. I was honestly disgusted by how unsanitary that was. Safe to say that we won’t be dining here again. I could go on and on but Horrible experience.
We had such a wonderful experience Christian was our server and was very attentive to my guest with a gluten and soy allergy. He made excellent recommendations and checked back on our table often. Their was a deejay playing some music with a very electric selection. We enjoyed everything from food to service to music and ambiance. We will be back soon! Thank you Christian and everyone at Katsuya for making our night so memorable and special!
Our server was so nice and provided great service! Unfortunately there seemed to be some mix up with the kitchen and our two appetizers never came out, but he was very apologetic and comped the dishes. It wasn't a big deal. But then they sat 3 very intoxicated under the influence of drugs individuals right next to us. My kids were really freaked out. They were inappropriate, making out, talking about drugs and getting high, using profanity, nodding off at the table, in very revealing inappropriate clothing, and taking videos of them acting crazy and shouting. They were really high and it was pretty scary and I'm not sure why they were seated in the first place. My kids and I had to get up and leave before our meal was done.
Good experience. Dank!!!
Always loved this place in the past...this visit did not live up to past experiences. Party I was with had never been, and I talked the whole experience up and left with a very average view of experience.
We go here because of proximity and valet great for pantages but it is loud and overpriced. Maybe double the smaller katsuya’s. I try to avoid this and the downtown location for this reason. But the food is great and sometimes worth it for the convenience
We had a reservation for 2 at 6:30p but due to traffic, 1 person was 15 minutes late. Even though the other person was on time they would not seat them. We ended up waiting until 6:55pm - we had tickets for an 8pm show so this was a bit rushed & stressful.
Once seated, the food and drinks were really fantastic so it made up for the rough start. The baked crab hand rolls were truly outstanding. We also had a Lychee martini (very smooth and balanced), the special roll (crab, avocado & albacore) which was exceptionally good.
Overall recommend just arrive early or with plenty of time in case you have a wait. Keep in mind a reservation doesn’t guarantee being seated at the requested time.
la cena muy rica, el servicio lento y desordenado, el lugar agradable pero bastante ruidoso
Definitely not the best food in Hollywood. Underwhelmed.
So yummy, especially the spicy tuna on crunchy rice. The only sad part was that we were not allowed to bring in any leftovers into the Pantages Theatre
Love Katsuya Hollywood the service is Amazing!! Food and drinks are yummy just wish it wasn't so expensive. My bill is usually from 400-600.
Everything was good until we got to our check and our waiter didn’t split our check and refused to help us.
Very hip and swanky. Kind of out of the way of the main Hollywood attractions but the food was great.
Great food! The wagu steak is phenomenal!
The manager charged $58 for a gin drink. The bottle does not cost that much to purchase retail. The manager didn’t come to talk to us and made the staff deal with charging the high price for one drink. They were confused by the price and thought it was a mistake as well. Waitress, bartender, and bus staff did a great job.
We've been to Katsuya before, and while the sushi is good, it is so, so, expensive for what it is. For the money, I prefer Nobu or Matsuhisa, and for amazing quality sushi, Sugarfish.
