The food and drinks were absolutely delicious and the portions were generous. Our server, Misty, was outstanding - knowledgeable, helpful and hospitable. This restaurant is a must for anyone visiting South Lake Tahoe.

We had a great experience! Ordered all of our food at the same time to share: apps, salad, and an entree. Everything came out perfectly timed. Staff were so friendly and kind. Delicious and fresh.

Sorry to say but this will not be a place we will be returning to. Your website has your winter menu listed, also you gave us a winter menu, your server did not tell us about anything until after we ordered drinks and were ready to order, still said nothing until I ordered lamb, only then did she tell us oh the menu is changing and we don’t have that in stock…okay the dragon roll? No we don’t have the unagi…okay?… Upon reviewing the menu nothing else looked or sounded good, and we weren’t sure if that was an option or not seeing as so many things weren’t on menu…last chance the fish? No specifically the one we pointed to they didn’t have…maybe don’t have winter menus during summer time? Maybe tell people ahead of time before we order drinks Also please train your staff to not use the excuse of Oh well we don’t get it in this time of year…because shipping and getting it all the way up here in Tahoe…so with that we finished our drinks,paid, left and walked right over to a different restaurant within 7 minutes of this place and was able to get a rack of lamb Very unhappy with the way your servers go about, and only after she had to tell us this did I hear her telling other customers they were out of basically half their entree menu because winter/spring menu changes or what not…at least let us know before we even order I wouldn’t have wasted my money even on the drinks here. Sorry but very very very disappointed and 1st impressions are everything to me, especially with all the competitors in Tahoe for food, this is a place myself nor my partner ever want to go back to.

Our server Shelby made our dinner a truly fantastic dining experience. We asked for her favorites and opinions along the way and we loved every single dish she recommended. All of our food was fresh and wonderful and the specialty drinks were fantastic - a truly memorable meal. We highly recommend Kalani’s and we will be back!

The food was delicious. Ambience was lovely. The only downside was our server. We like to split several dishes so it's nice when the cold appetizers come out, then the warm, etc. Instead, all our food came at the same time. We had to eat the hot items first. We had no room on the table. We were not asked if we needed another drink or anything else. We did order dessert and the check pretty much came at the same time. Not sure if Elena had a date or what but she was certainly rushing us out...and the restaurant was more than half empty because it's off season.
