   Good was wonderful, we had the shrimp wraps as an appetizer and both had the sea bass as our entree. The only issue we had is we received tea that had spoiled. Unsure how this happened but our waitress was able to correct it and replace with tea that was good and it had a fantastic flavor.

   Excellent lobster bisque! The scallops are like cutting through butter… amazing. The sea bass is excellent! If you’re visiting Lake Tahoe or staying near Heavenly Mountain resort (Marriott) —- a short walk and totally worth it!

   The meal was amazing! Highly recommend. We got lobster bisque, a wedge salad, hachimi crudo, sushi roll, ribeye, mai thais & dessert martinis - everything was great! Our server, Misty, was incredible too!

    Whoa! Fourth time there and they don’t disappoint. The scallops were really good: memorable. My wife had the halibut, also excellent. Kalani’s has become our favorite South Shore eatery. But don’t tell anyone. The place will be overrun.

    One of my favorite restaurants in Tahoe but didnt realize they don’t serve sushi during lunchtime. Was bummed. But usually, food (sushi) is awesome!

    Shelby, our server was fantastic. We 3 sisters ordered, bass, halibut and salmon. Delicious. Our hats off to the chef and staff. Beautiful setting. Sad to leave the Heavenly Village.

    We went in and we were able to enjoy happy hour, very good deals! The calamari was a bit under seasoned, but not chewy. We also had the heavenly roll and fried Ahi, both very good. Entrees we had the rib-eye and mixed seafood grill. Ribeye was pretty perfect, but the mixed seafood grill, the barramundi was over cooked and one of my scallops was severely undercooked. We ended up back the next day after a disappointing brunch and had the wild mushroom flatbread and the mahi tacos which were AMAZING

    I ordered a bowl of soup and was very disappointed in the quantity in the bowl. It was more like a cup of soup placed in a bowl. One ladle at most. $12! What’s going on!

    The atmosphere is great but the food and service are the real stars. This is our favorite place to come to at South Lake Tahoe. It’s a taste of the islands when you can’t get there in person

    First impression walking in .. smelled like fish- and not good fish! So we didn’t have fish. Seated us next to a party of 15 even though the restaurant was almost empty…very loud! Waitress was somewhat friendly.. preoccupied with other staff! I had the New York steak. It was tuff but my wife had the fillet and it was very good. Same price. Get the fillet! Vegetables were ok but not fresh. We have been there before and it was much better all around. Manager needs to get envolved!

    The scallops are amazing. The Chilean Sea Bass exceptional. We have dined numerous times at Kalani's and leave thoroughly satisfied. Everything other menu is prepared well, tasty, with excellent presentation.

    I ordered the 16 oz bone in pork chop. It came with cauliflower puree and crispy brussel sprouts. Everything was very flavorful and prepared to my liking. When I pointed out that the brussel sprouts and cauliflower were room temperature, only, the waiter immediately made it right by providing piping hot servings of each. Service was excellent and the restaurant was not very crowded so the noise level was comfortable. It is a place worth returning to. I think the mistake regarding the vegetables was an exception, not a common occurrence. I very much enjoyed the dinner.

    I was disappointed in my meal and dining experience, because it was so amazing a few years ago. I felt we got pushed to a small table because we had an open table reservation. The water was friendly, but seemed inexperienced. The menu described King Salmon as Atlantic Salmon. I expect a place that presents itself as fine dining should know the difference; its a huge difference if you have had the good fortune of having a King Salmon. I ordered the mixed grill served over parmesan flavored risotto and spinach. The little bit of parmesan I could taste was the only flavor in what tasted like bland over boiled rice (no taste of wine, broth). The spinach was sparse, maybe 4-5 small leaves. The scallops were cooked perfectly, but lacked flavor. The shrimp was a little over cooked and lacked flavor. The baramundi was extremely over cooked.

    Sea bass was perfection, best virgin piña colada in years, the margarita flatbread was a cracker-thin delight. Rich clam chowder and notably good barbecue ribs. Lava cake was excellent and crème brûlée was also stellar. Service was great without being intrusive and the atmosphere was lively and fun but not too loud. Bread pudding was tasteless and unpleasantly dense - the only thing I think they could improve. Will be back for sure with friends and family!

    Fantastic experience. Our server Nina was wonderful and extremely helpful with the wine and food choices. The Chilean Sea Bass was excellent, so was the Kalani roll. Definitely a do-over when we come back.
