Server forgot appetizer, she was nice, but not as attentive as we would have hoped for (re: chips, offering kids their dessert without us having to clarify it came with one, etc)
Our server was GREAT. We had a nice spot on the patio too. But the noise inside was incredible- very busy and the vegetarian options were quite limited. Food was decent/ above average but not worth the high prices.
For entrees in the teens and 20s price-wise I’d expect excellent food.
We have been fans of both Kachina locations for years but I'm not sure we will be back to the Westminster location after today. Service was so slow, and the manager on duty was unprofessional to her crew. We watched a table that arrived about the same time we did sit unacknowledged so long that the got up and moved indoors. The manager got in a heated conversation with both waitresses in our section over it out on the patio by our table! And getting our food took forever - there was a couple who arrived after we did who were served and out the door before we even got our food. It just wasn't a great experience, and I didn't feel comfortable saying anything after how I saw the manager talk to her wait staff
The food here was really good. I forget about this place and I am not sure why because I am always impressed.
Went here to celebrate my mom's birthday. There was an event in the next room that was very loud, but the food was amazing and the service very good. We'll definitely be going back!
Food was very good and drinks were very good. Our service was outstanding.
Okay food. Okay service. Just not overwhelmed.
Jamaica is always such a pleasure to have as a server. She is one of our many favorite things about Kachina!
Although I would recommend Kachina Southwestern Grill to a friend, it wouldn’t be based on this latest visit. Ordered breakfast tacos with chorizo and over easy eggs. Got breakfast tacos with bland thick tortilla, had bacon on it not chorizo and eggs were over hard, not over easy. Not good, but I really like this place in past and had a friend I was introducing the place to, so did not make it an issue. Hope this was a one time bad mistake.
I would highly recommend Kachina for both their food and service. The make your own Bloody Mary bar was a delightful surprise. We were there for brunch on a Sunday. The restaurant was extremely noisy because of wedding guests from the night before. I rated the noise level high because of this, but we were able to be seated on the patio, which was far less noisy. The Navajo tacos were excellent, and although they make their own”fry bread” and it is delicious, it is not authentic. The French toast was amazing, too. Don’t let the fact that Kachina is inside a hotel make you shy away. It was a terrific dining experience .
Had high hopes but quickly dashed. We had reservations and promptly seated. Restaurant was not busy but over 15 minutes to have someone take drink order and once our service finally brought drinks and we placed our order, it was more than an hour before food was brought to table—there was only four of us so not like cooking for a village. We had to take most of our food go as we had other plans. Would not return. Food was NOT worth the wait and no apologies from staff for the horrible service.
We had two large reservations for brunch the day after my sisters wedding. The staff at Kachina were very accommodating of our group trickling in and seating our group as close together as possible. The patio ambiance was great and again, the staff made sure we were all shaded for those seated in the sun.
We loved the bottomless mimosa and bloody mary bar for brunch and all the food we had was incredible. We would highly recommend Kachina for brunch and hope to return soon!
Came on the recommendation of coworkers. Started with the buffalo empanadas drizzled with chipotle honey. These were divine. The buffalo was tender mince and with the sauce, yum! Wanted to lick the plate.
For dinner we ordered the Navajo Plate with Pueblo and Mojave it came with green rice and pinto beans. The Navajo bread was soft and tender and held up well to the meat. The pork was tender with good flavor. The duck was delicious but I wanted more meat. The rice and beans I found odd. You couldn't eat them on the tacos and by themselves they didn't compliment the meal. Next time would just order 3 tacos and skip the rice and beans.
The 2nd main was the Posole which the had both lean and fatty pork. On the side you get avocado, radishes, and other veggies. Put them in the soup. The broth is thin and the extras added some of the weight needed.
For dessert we ordered the chocolate chili beignets. They are not spicy, the chili is just a hint. The caramel sauce was nice, complementing the beignets.
Th combo tacos on sopapilla were not really that great. More food to top them is needed. I had like 2 shreds of confit ..
Location should be better advertised (in the lobby of the hotel, signage not visible). Food was good but smaller portions. We were there in August & the area was open to the outside & air temperate of the dining was on the hotter side.
Service was very friendly but parking was associated with hotel parking which means you may have some walking from parking to the Grill.
Had a very enjoyable meal. Sat on the patio. Food was good as well as the service.
Parents night out - date night.
Beautiful restaurant, excellent food, and perfect service. Great place to take people that are visiting from out of town. Upscale feel without the prices. The quail was great!
The food was unique and delicious. The portions were small for the price.
The food is creative without sacrificing quality or taste.
Good drinks and food and shout out to Natasha for fabulous service! Thank you for a wonderful dinner, we will definitely be back!
Nice area, nice views. Food was good, but a little pricey. Go during happy hour for best deals! Our waiter was awesome. Very helpful and attentive.
i loved my diner, i ordered the duck taco and chicken both were excellent
Food was great and unexpectedly better than anticipated. Service was good and cute layout. I liked that the restaurant was not overly cold and the AC was not blasting. Their taco shells are a little different but very delicious and filling. Would go back again.
Good kitchen, poor service. They need to hire more professional waiters to level the quality coming from the kitchen.
My husband and I are regulars, the Valet and staff are super friendly and always welcome us by name. Great food and service!
This is a solid brunch location. We like brunch better than dinner, but dinner is also nice.
Really good food. Nice decor. We were in on a Friday night, so it WAS crowded. But the noise and the heat were almost unbearable.
The entire place was about 90 degrees and miserable, the drinks were overpriced and the service was very pushy. Along with that, the menu was extremely limited and only had 15-20 items....including appetizers and dessert.
Although my experience was definitely less than stellar, I think much of it was due to our server. He neglected to introduce himself, had zero personality and seemed unenthused to be doing his job. I choose this restaurant because we were taking our relative from Ireland out to brunch and wanted a unique cuisine and experience, one he'd certainly not find in Ireland. Our server could've bumped this experience up but instead, took it down a notch. I was also sorely disappointed because I specifically asked our server about blue corn tortilla dishes. He suggested the enchiladas and I wondered aloud how I had missed that. (Come to find out the menu does not mention blue corn tortillas, that's how.) I ordered these and they were NOT made with blue corn tortillas. I didn't even say anything. At that point, I really just wanted to chat with my relative and I was tired of focusing my energy on the waiter's incompetence. The food in general though was still very good and I love the ambiance.
It's good. I didn't have anything that was spectacular, but it's good.
Our server Chris was awesome, good recommendations menu wise. A little slow to start though. Had reservations, but the host was non existent. Food was good, get the beignets- they are awesome! Patio seating is must.
I had read some good reviews for this place and since we were staying at the Westin we decided to have dinner here. It was okay, just okay. We ordered the guacamole trio as an appetizer and we were not impressed with any of the three flavors. My guacamole tastes better and I am not even Mexican.
I ordered the chicken enchiladas after reading the description saying it was served “Christmas style”. I was hoping for some delicious green chili and actually the only good thing I can say is that it had a ton of chicken and the presentation was nice. Apart from that, the dish was really greasy and totally bland.
My husband ordered the filet mignon and that was actually the highlight of the meal. The meat was super tender and juicy. Delicious! The French fries were okay, but not really good.
I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant at all, sadly.
Our server was great though! Very attentive and friendly. That saved the night!
Guacamole was great. The chicken enchiladas were swimming in grease and in my opinion inedible. I think the last time I sent food back was maybe 15-20 years ago, it’s not a practice I take lightly. The waiter took it off the bill with no issue whatsoever, very professional. My date had Navajo tacos that were good, and a soup that she enjoyed. I’ve visited Kachina several times over the years and this is the first time I’ve left feeling unimpressed by the food. The ambiance and service are still excellent.
Service here was very attentive without being cloying. The dishes are Southwest inspired but often with a gourmet twist. Loved the corn pudding but really everything was excellent.
We were unsure when we drove up and saw it was linked to a hotel, but that was only one of the entrances (you could also go in from the main promenade area). We were all very glad we decided to stay and try it. The drinks and the food we tried were all delicious! Additionally, the happy hour (3-6p) deals are a great value.
Your overall provision of service and its various components is very good. If there is anything that I believe could make it better, that would be to have things cleaner and find a way to get rid of the flies.
Fresh Mexican food. A nice surprise. Located in the Westin Westminster
Service was excellent. Menu is varied in a southwestern style.
Some hits: queso fundido was not traditional, but was tasty. The original quacamole was very good. The mixed grill was also very good. Navajo tacos were a hit, as well.
Misses: chicken enchiladas were not Christmas style or very traditional. Taste was good, but not as expected.
Probably wouldn’t return.
We had a great experience minus the tremendously loud noise level due to acoustics. They would wise to install some type noise absorption. We could not even carry on a conversation the entire meal.
