   The gnocchi portions were very small. The half chicken was missing a full breast to be considered a half chicken. Both were very tasty, just too small. I think they made up for the lack of chicken with way too many potatoes. The potatoes were actually the only thing in either of the dishes that we didn't like. Very bland and flavorless. Our server was great and patio seating is always enjoyable on a beautiful evening.

   Food is mediocre for the price. Grilled Cheese was overcooked, dry and hardly had any cheese on it. The Bison Burger has more meat on the plate than in between the bun. And the Trout Sando was dry and overcooked. Nearly Tasteless

   We’ve been wanting to try this place for some time now but were quite disappointed after we finally did. Food was mediocre and overpriced. The side salad was a joke. Brown lettuce with a few tomatoes and cucumbers for $7. Couldn’t really taste the salmon and shrimp pasta due to the overflavoring of sauces. Good flavor but just too much of it. The drink menu is probably why patrons go here. Looked impressive. We don’t drink but maybe that’s what keeps people coming back to this place. There are other restaurants in the Boise area that we’d rather spend the price to enjoy. This place isn’t for us. But Shaq, our server, was great! Very kind and helpful in explanations. He made sure we were satisfied and well taken care of. He was the best part of the restaurant!

   Great downtown location. The staff is friendly and helpful. The salmon dish was very salty but tasty otherwise with a great mixture of side ingredients.

   Juniper Restaurant was a real treat. The restaurant has a quietly elegant but casual atmosphere and decor. The service was exceptional, and our server made wine and food suggestions when asked, and she was exactly right with both (Split-rail Chardonnay and Shrimp pasta with lemon, olives, arugula and capers, my friend had a glorious burrata salad). The food was fresh (homemade pasta!) and delicious. I was thrilled to find a restaurant on the quite side too, no loud music to make patrons speak loudly over it. I will DEFINITELY go here again and often, and recommend it to everyone I know.

    Wow! What a great experience! We hadn't been to Juniper since it re-opened after Covid Closure. I am SOOOO glad we came back last night! A quick reservation and I'm so glad we did. The ladies up front were super genuine and sat us quickly. We couldn't decide on Apps, so we went with the Black Sea Salt Bread & the Fried Cauliflower. oh em gee. Both so good! The dipping sauce for the bread is outa this world! For mains, I ordered the pesto gnocchi. Had asparagus & cauliflower in it. One of the best gnocchis I've ever had. Home Run! We brought our own wine in, but their selection looked great, too! We will be back!

    Dinner was not great .. server failed to share there was a HAPPYHOUR .. I pointed out that I ordered a full price drink … no one shared the HAPPY HOUR MENU .. I ordered a couple appetizers and told the server .. excuse me.. why didn’t you tell me I had choices off that menu.. she said o I’m sorry . The salmon was undercooked on my full price Caesar salad and 2 other Caesar’s were ordered off HH menu.. mine was same size 🥴 … I was pretty underwhelmed. I will not be back ..

    Excellent food and service! Not crazy about house tonic, so drink was replaced. Appreciate gluten-free options on the menu, including the risotto and pumpkin cake which are DELISH!! Will return!

    Hostess was rude and sat our party of 2 next to a family when we could have had our own space in one of the 7 booths that remained available for 2 hours. Food was good. Wine list is very limited. Didnt enjoy our experience enough to have a second glass of wine and dessert, so we did that at alavita afterwards.

    It was our first visit. We had a really well-prepared lunch. It was delicious. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant has a casual chic vibe. We plan on a return visit in the very near future. We highly recommend it.

    First issue is that I requested a high top since it was an option on Open Table. When we arrived we were seated upstairs in the back of the restaurant at a small booth—my view was the server’s station, restroom/exit sign and bunch of extra chairs stored near the wall. After viewing the restaurant on Instagram and Open Table this wasn’t what I expected. I felt like I was at a diner. Ambience was completely lacking. Our server was polite but seemed inexperienced. I had a question about gluten in a specific dish which he said he’d check on but never did. The dishes we settled on were the lamb and NY steak. They were good but unexceptional. The worst part is that our entrees came out when we were halfway through our salads. Serving staff seemed oblivious to the meal pacing. Overall it was average, the service was not great and we won’t be in a hurry to return. On a good note, the cocktails were unique and well prepared.

    Service was amazing. Can’t complain there! We got the lamb and the New York steak. The drinks were done very well and the calamari was pretty good, but the entrees were not great. Risotto had a strong but curious flavor. Meat was uninspiring, average. Side dish was a tomato squash dish. Ok I guess. If we go again will be for drinks and apps only.

    My salmon was excellent as was the Brie appetizer. The beef stroganoff had very little beef and not sure the noodles were fully cooked. The staff were able to meet our request of a booth but it was near the door so cold air hit us regularly. Our first time there, nice restaurant, but not sure we'll return.

    Great food. Wine list fair. Service was not professional. Server was nice enough but knew zero about wine - could not answer questions re wine list. It was server's last night, so maybe next time will be better, but I had the impression that the servers were not well trained. Thank you.

    I love Juniper! It’s a perfect little local restaurant with outstanding service, incredible food and drinks, and great vibes. They’re always so warm and welcoming, play great music, and I’ve never been disappointed in my meals. They’re amazing. One of my very favorite downtown spots.

    Food was better than in the past. Used to dine here the first few years they opened but always felt like they were missing the mark. Food quality was really good this go around. Sat upstairs- still wish there was more acoustic help. Loud group of 20 somethings echoed the entire top floor. Only real digger was most of the tables were empty upstairs but we were seated at a cruddy table just outside the restroom and galley- Certainly could have done better given the availability on both floors. Overall impressions- Food- good enough to go back. Vibe-run by average joe's. Zero wow factor. There's better experiences to be had in the area.

    Our server Kristie was fantastic. Attentive without being iver bearing. We came to celebrate my fathers birthday and we enjoyed the steamed class and over bread for appetizers, lamb, ribeye and the autumn salad for dinner and everything was delicious. Definitely recommend for anything from casual night out to a nice dinner before a show.
