The kitchen was extremely slow... We went at 12 pm on a Sunday we didn't get our food till 1255. She the waitress offered a fruit or v but neither came out. The food was good I'd even say great but it came out cold. I went inside to pay and she actually charged us for the fruit that never came out.
My family came to dinner last Saturday and our host and waiter were fabulous!!!!! The food was very well prepared and tasted fabulous. The team was so accommodating for us, they allowed us to juggle our table configuration so my 81 year uncle could hear our conversations easier. The evening was very special for us all!
Wasn’t as great as the reviews said. Waitress was 20 yrs old and was poorly trained. Had to go back to the kitchen several times to ask chef questions due to lack of menu knowledge. Maybe she was new? But regardless, she shouldn’t be out on the floor working without additional training in my opinion. Overall food was good but nothing that exciting.
Great atmosphere! The services was great, I had the mule, fried brussel sprouts and chopped salad...all was great! Everything sounded great on the menu, it was hard to choose. My hubby had the fig grilled cheese and that was amazing too. We would definitely go back!
Seems like the food and service is declining
Juniper is trendy and was very busy on a Saturday night making the noise level a bit much-even if you're not into heavy conversation. The menu was innovative and our group enjoyed their meals. There are even enough vegetarian choices for those going meatless! The wait staff, though slammed, was attentive, but one order did get mixed up. We'd go back for this casual and fun dining experience, but might choose a quieter night.
Nice place, but we had 4 small plates and split and entree and my date and I agree that nothing we had was memorable. Probably won’t be back for food, but Maybe for a cocktail.
While our wait staff was wonderful it took AN HOUR to get our meal! And mine was only a salad that missed the chicken add-on; our sons meal was good; my husbands meal was the Buffalo French dip which was just ok. The staff really was very attentive but we could just not get over how long it took to get our food. They were busy but not over the top.
Food was great. Service was horrible. If you have an hour to waste waiting for service and food delivery, not to mention, minimal coffee fill-up and having to beg for cream , then you might really like it here. There are so many great restaurants in Boise, it’s too bad this one can’t compete because of awful service.
Fun place, workers are very friendly. Ambiance was nice and casual. Workers were very professional conducting the flow of everything
Would not recommend for dinner. I ordered their special, which was halibut, which was so over cooked it was like jerky. Waitress didn’t seem to care, and almost seemed like they are used to complaints about their food. They had fabulous drinks, which is the only reason I would recommend Juniper to anyone.
Loved everything but came away spending way too much for a brunch, was a bit pricey for what it was, but food was great and so was the service
I have been to Juniper several times with great experiences. This time, that was not the case. The food was average, but not worth the cost. A menu item I have loved in the past was sub-par. Our waitress disappeared for 15 minutes after bringing the bill. The cocktails were still delicious, but probably won't be back for food.
Forget the Pear-fig Grilled Cheese Sandwich. It was none of those ingredients or at least I couldn’t find, or taste, them. The Brunch pancakes were okay. Ambience was trendy.
We waited 10-15 minutes after being seated and never got served. We just got up and left.
Bailey, our waiter was wonderful! But there was not enough help in the kitchen and bar!! Drinks and dinner took quite a while to be served. Food was delicious, however!
Juniper was really great. Despite an issue with my wife's beef medallions being well done instead of medium, everything else was great. Our server immediately addressed the issue and even brought my wife some of the side dish while she was waiting for her order to be fixed. The wine selection was pretty good, and I liked that they only had local beers on tap. The restaurant community in Boise really supports local farmers and breweries and that's a big appeal to someone looking to relocate.
Cool spot but very loud. Menu had great variety and prices were good. Server was not knowledgeable on wine list but otherwise great service.
We did the chef's table and it was really a great time and it was more filling than I expected. I would totally do it again
Such a cute restaurant. Get the pancakes!!!!!!!!! Sooooooooo good.
We tried this restaurant for the first time and we will definitely be back. Cool vibe and the food was delicious!
Amazing restaurant, a Boise must try!!!
I’m on a restricted eating plan and the lemony kale, cauliflower, and egg dish is the best tasting food in downtown Boise! Beautifully plated, too. Thankful you take reservations for brunch and your staff is very friendly.
Great brunch. We like Juniper but hadn't been for a while, great to see they're still in top form.
The black hair in my potatoes was a horrible disappointment. We were there for brunch.
Food was pretty spicy without being advertised as such. Very good, but a little much for some. Excellent cocktails and service!
We have been to this establishment a number of times and order the same dishes each visit. The quality was very noticeably not up to their normal standards and the portions were smaller. Used to be one of our more favorite places in downtown Boise.
Delicious food, especially the Peanut Butter Pie.
Salmon was delicious, nice atmosphere, friendly service!
Great good. Great drinks. Great place.
Myself and two friends went to Juniper for Brunch on a Saturday morning. The food was of decent quality, and the service was excellent. For the price, the quality and portions could be larger. I would advise to skip the coffee. It was weak and deeply acidic.
The ambiance and the service here at Juniper was very good. We really enjoyed the decor and our server was both attentive, helpful in suggestions and kind.
The food, working with locally sourced foods, was just okay and this was a huge disappointment. My friends and my salmon dishes came out from the kitchen and I could smell the fishiness as it was placed before me. The sauce used as a glaze was just too much for this dish and masked the natural flavors of the brussel sprouts and carrots. The salmon was cooked nicely, just not as fresh as I would have expected.
My husbands duck ramen came out luke warm but our server cheerfully and with an apology, took it back to reheat it.
I would like to say I would recommend this restaurant, but with so many nearby to choose from, I just can't.
We had another great experience at Juniper. My wife has celiac disease and this place has always done a stellar job going above and beyond to make sure she feels safe and excited about her meal. Thank you all for a great dining experience once again. We will be back for sure!
Love the cocktails. Salmon was good although slightly dry. I had asked for medium and it was more like well done but could have used a little bit of sauce or broth. We considered the specials but they were priced at $29, far above anything else on the menu. Overall, I love this place although it is noisy when full.
Very nice microbiome meals
Eat indide or patio
Typically I do not leave reviews, but I wanted to on this experience. I booked a reservation for brunch for a friend’s birthday. The moment we walked into the restaurant it was an uninviting environment. After we sat ourselves (as the waitress told us to “sit anywhere” as she handed us menus), she then proceeded to tell us to move because that table wasn’t set yet. Our brunch reservations were at 10:00, the waitress (same person) did not come to our table for at least 10 min, finally took our food order at 10:20 (rememberer, it wasn’t busy), we did not receive our food until 11:20. Others around us had sat after us, ate and left. When we politely asked when we would get our food, our waitress was extremely defensive saying ‘I’m doing my best’ in a sarcastically, rude tone and rolling her eyes. When the food was finally served, 2 of the 5 orders were not correct. The food was ok at best. We will never return to Juniper, crappy service and mediocre food. We thought we’d try it out for brunch, but honestly there are so many better options available in Boise. Such a bummer and disappointment.
Went here before the Garth Brooks concert. Fantastic cocktails! Appetizers were great. Entrees were good. Very loud.
Insanely slow service on a Saturday night and seemed to be understaffed or having a meltdown in the kitchen. Food is great, but it took nearly an hour to get our food.
We ate upstairs, it was so loud we could not speak. I asked to eat outside, but the seating was full, they offered to turn the music and they did, but it was still too loud to converse. I think the songs they played (techno) sounded like,“BOOTS and CATS, and BOOTS and CATS and BOOTS and CATS”. It may have been the worst dinning experience in my life.
