Jubilee is an upscale restaurant that fuses French and American cuisine. This is a finder restaurant where guests can expect white tablecloths, a wine presentation at the beginning of the meal, and dishes with plenty of flavor and presentation value. Jubilee is an ideal place for an intimate date night, with every table being romantically lit with a centerpiece candle.
Jubilee's menu touches on classic American and French cuisine, along with the related flavors of bold Cajun cooking. Appetizers include bacon-wrapped shrimp in smoked cheddar grits, oysters Rockefeller cake, fried okra in a crab mornay, deviled eggs with pork belly and potato strings and a crispy catfish fillet. There are smaller options like a crispy lobster and pork belly sandwich, or more hearty dishes like a fried half chicken with wilted spinach and a grilled filet of beef with goat cheese, oyster jew and demibutter.
I think this is the best restaurant on the North Shore, and it compares very favorably with the great restaurants in New Orleans. The servers are attentive, but not intrusive. The atmosphere is quaint, but never too noisy, and the food is very creative. I tell everyone who will listen about Jubilee.

Our family doesn't give presents anymore..we go out to eat..usually trying a new place each time. My daughter found this place (was driving by one day) and thought it would be a great place to try..so for my wife's birthday that's what we did.
Our reservation was at 7:15pm on a Tuesday (my wife's actual birthday) and we were the first ones at the restaurant. We were greeted warmly; the service was great (very attentive) and the food was wonderful. It is our "normal" practice to taste what the other person ordered, which we did. I had a fish, tasted my wife's steak (which she is STILL talking about) and my daughter's lamb shank. Everything was wonderful, including the cocktails we had.
I would recommend Jubilee to anyone wanting an upscale dining experience w/o an upscale price. I considered the pricing to be reasonable and below what you might find in a larger city.
The truly mouth watering food is cooked and seasoned to perfection. Service was very courteous and friendly. It has left an impression on me I won't forget anytime soon. It it a great place to enjoy really fantastic food in a delightful setting. Really deserving of top reviews for food -- great job!!!!
The food tasted alright. Nothing to brag about. We thought the prices were reasonable until we received our food. The entree portions were extremely small. My boyfriend and I both left the restaurant still hungry.

It is such a treat to dine at Jubilee! The menu is creative, and is upgraded often. The food is outstanding, and the servers sparkle with enthusiasm and a caring attitude. For me, the atmosphere is just right... romantic, and never too noisy.
I'm a "foodie" who dines often in upscale restaurants, and Jubilee never disappoints. This is a superb dining experience that shouldn't be missed.
We just love this delightful little restaurant. Two of the four of us had the daily special, Pecan-Crusted Drum. We both felt that it was among the best fish dishes that either of us had ever eaten. The service is attentive, but not intrusive. The restaurant is small enough where you can carry on a conversation without raising your voice, and parking is easy and convenient. This one is too good to miss.

wife and I were out on date night, Our witress so cute, friendly, and really knew the menu. The service was fast and the food was so delicious , The chef came out to our table to make sure we were enjoying ourself. The prices were great. We plan on going back real soon. Parking was no problem.
Another gem in Mandeville. Alex Patout has scored another hit!! Everything was excellent!! We sat on the patio area because the weather was perfect and celebrated an early Mother's Day. However, the interior of the restaurant is on the level of New Orleans French quarter style. The menu is one of the best! So many things to choose from that it was hard to decide. That's the kind of menu I like.

The atmosphere was is lovely and the food for our Easter brunch was good but not great. We had a nice time but the restaurant was freezing. There were other patrons in a different room of the restaurant that were also freezing. We asked for the temperature to be raised several times but it was not. By the way I was wearing a thick cotton sweater and long pants. The four of us were all cold and it made the overall dining experience unpleasant.
The food was served with some flair. The mood of the restaurant was vibrant and inviting.
The quality of the food was exceeded only by the quality of the service.

The evening was great. For appetizer we had the crawfish meat pies, the red pepper sauce was spicy but there was only a small portion on the pies and it added a nice taste. The remoulade the pies nestled in was TASTEE, I wanted to eat the decorative lettuce left on the plate to make a "happy" plate. For entree, I had the Crispy Redfisf Ponchartrain topped with grilled scallops, yum. When it arrived at the table, I was afraid the crispy would overpower the redfish but I was wrong, the crispy was light and the Ponchartrain sauce was divine! Oh yea, there was asparagus and mash potatoes too, although nice flavors to add to the plate, the fish was the winner!
I look forward to going back to Jubilee to eat outside in the courtyard! The dining inside on New Years Eve was cozy and comfortable. I wondered if there were extra tables sat about because the servers seemed to be conducting traffic control whenever delivering food and sitting patrons.
Concern: The building has two bricked and uneven steps at the front door without a good handhold to help maneuver. I would be concerned about these steps with elderly or tipsie people in high heels. In fact, I would have to call in advance and find out how my parents could even get into the restuarant since my mother cannot climb stairs.
Seems as though this location is jinxed. Tried to give Jubilee some business, with the hope it would be a place we would visit frequently. The service was atrocious. Our server, Leah, was friendly but obviously not polished. She messed up our drink order, tried to get an appetizer order before we hardly sat down and even confused our main courses. The food was good, but the service was a real turnoff. There are too many choices for "fine" dining on the Northshore. Jubilee, with this level of service, is not one of them.
The food was tasty but the service was the worst I've experienced in a good long while. Twenty minutes to get menus. Forty minutes later we received appetizers. Another 70 minutes later (at the two hour and ten minute mark) we received entrees. After finishing dinner, we waited another 20 minutes for desserts. However, they took our silverware so we waited another 15 minutes to eat our dessert after they were placed on the table. When we received the bill, there were two unknown charges. It took them three attempts and 25 minutes to get us the correct bill. The waitress forgot to mention they had a kid's menu so we spent $48 on our seven year old daughter's dinner.
You would think those might be acceptable in a busy restaurant in a big city. Unfortunately, we were one of four tables.
What may have led to the slow service you ask? The kitchen crew huddled around a TV in the kitchen watching a football game (the Hawaii bowl to be exact - Rice versus Fresno St.).
Do yourself a favor and just stay away. The system requires me to check one recommendation. There isn't an option for none of the above so we will just select kid friendly since our waitress didn't yell at her.
We had a couple of items that were very good but overall the food was not special, especially for the price. Our waitress was sweet but it took forever to get our food and then one of our dinners was literally room temp. They charged us extra for ridiculous items. The truth is we live in New Orleans , there is no reason to eat less than really good food . This place will be off our list for good.
My opinion of Tom Fitzmorris has dropped a few level because he claimed "the dining at Jubilee has risen to a level of imagination, goodness and polish to be in a league with Gallagher’s, Dakota, La Provence, Del Porto, Pardo’s, and Keith Young’s in the Mandeville-Covington corridor. " No way Tom. The food here at best was mediocre. Just nothing that makes you want to go back. The best new restaurant in the area is OXLot 9 , go see what they are doing. New dishes are offered, somewhat pricey but always top notched.
No coffee was available because a problem with city water system, however everyone's water glass was kept full. How do this happen? Our reservation was at 7 and we arrived early and was seated and advised crab cakes were not available, Really?
The fried green tomato appetizer was good.I had the rib eye which was tasty but on the tough side, two people had the Crispy Gulf Fish Pontchartrain and said it was just okay and the fourth person had the scallops and pasta and enjoyed it.
I think that $50 for a bottle of La Crème runs around $22 at local stores, $5 for collard green side?
Just my observation's and thought from someone who is retired and dines out often. Hope this information serves useful and is not meant to be derogatory but helpful for you to improve. We like the location and close proximity to our home.
The soup trio cauliflower and crab, sweetpotatto and shrimp, and gumbo was very unique and tasty The fish with crabmeat on top a great combination . The ribeye cooked to perfection. The ambience was romantic and cozy. The service was bestow all, never saw bottom of a glass.
My fault for not checking the menu in advance to learn that it was a fixed price menu for Thanksgiving lunch, but $48 pp for an appetizer or salad, entree, and dessert was too high. For that price we could have gone to Commander's Palace or Arnaud's, and at those restaurants we would not have been charged $2 per each order of extra bread. Jubilee brings 3 small pieces of bread for a table of 3 as a starter, and if you order additional bread you are charged $2 for 3 more small pieces. We really enjoyed the food and service, but it is overpriced.
Wonderful food, terrific ambiance, just right wine list, friendly and welcoming service. Needs a sit-down bar, a must on the Northshore, to attract customers who would then stay to dine. Suggest dimming the lights for dinner. A neighborhood gem!!
Jubilee is where my fiance and I chose to celebrate a significant anniversary. It is a quiet, romantic spot with great ambiance for any special occasion. The menu is filled with many chef inspired creations that will fit anyone's pallet. There are unique pairings, such as the espresso crusted filet, available as well as simple classics like local caught fish. We had a soup trio that was filled with the chef's creative twist on long standing favorites like turtle soup, gumbo, and crab bisque. We had scallops and pork shank as our entrees and they were both unbelievable! The seasoning and pairing with creatively prepared vegetables were impossible to resist. Also, the service and knowledge of the wait staff was truly second to none!
Ate at Jubilee after it first opened and the place was hopping. Food was very good and service was excellent. This visit was markedly different in that it was very quiet for a Saturday night. I'm okay with that. Folks may have been involved with college football or other pursuits. My wife and I enjoyed the fresh redfish dishes and soup of the day. A chocolate dessert shared between us ended the meal. Service from Meagan was outstanding and the food was delicious.
The food was very good but our server was pre occupied with the restaurant being understaffed. Took a long time to receive our drinks & was told they had run out of oysters (which was the appetizer we wanted) at 7:30!
Treat yourself (and others) to a unigue dinning experience for the north shore. It's a blend of old Mandeville and Magazine Street, offering a refreshing alternative to the larger, crowded and noisy established restaurants. The menu offers good variety and excellent presentations. Portions are filling but not over the top. Be sure to order the speciality ice cream with your desert. Prices are in line with comparable eateries. Can't wait to go back.
We had a table of 7 for Brunch on Sunday and had a wonderful dining experience. The food was delicious and everyone was very nice.
We had the redfish with crabmeat dressing. It was amazing.

Unfortunately I have had to rate this place poorly because this place stood me up. I had a booked reservation but instead of keeping this they chose to allow the kitchen staff to go home and closed up.
My new favorite restaurant. I had the 16 oz. Veal Chop and it was delicious!! For the level of food, the servers were not up to it. They need training and polish.
We had dinner there tonight for the first time. The restaurant itself is very quaint and although we sat inside, the outside patio looks really nice for cooler days. The service was excellent and the food was outstanding. I think it is as good or better than most of the best restaurants in New Orleans. My only concern is how few people were in there dining. We were one of only four tables. Please try Jubilee if you are on the Northshore. I don't think you will be disappointed.
Have been for both lunch and dinner. Superb in every way. No room for improvement. Will return and recommend.

We went here for the first time for a Sunday brunch on Father's Day. The meal was very good and the selections also. The wines were fine and the bar is a notable improvement over the predecessor restaurant at this location, Juniper.
It was so nice to have such a great dining experience at Jubilee in Mandeville. We drove from Baton Rouge after reading an article on Jubilee in a local magazine, Country Roads. Our lunch was wonderful! We sampled Shrimp & Cauliflower Bisque, Salad with Peaches & Bleu Cheese, Louisiana Hot Brown, Shrimp & Pasta and Fish & Chips. We finished off the meal with a fruit torte. It was all delicious and the presentation was super! We would definitely make the trip back to dine here again.

The chef is creative but not eclectic. Excellent appetizers and entrees. The fish dishes are among the finest anywhere. Nice setting and competent staff.
We found the food quite good, The main complaint was that it was just too much food, The salads w/a cup of soup would have been enough for a dinner. The entrees were overwhelming. Why not cut your portions in half? It would truly be more appealing.
Food was great. Service was great. It was a bit noisy, but it was also Mother's Day. Prking can be tight on Sundays until the church acorss the street lets out.

I had the lamb and it was very good. My wife had the Easter Sunday special, and she throughly enjoyed it. Overall, it was a very plesant Easter Sunday brunch. We have already made reservations for Mothers' Day brunch.
