We had a very nice dinner at Joseph's. The food was excellent, and the service was attentive. The restaurant is not loud, as the bar area is separate from the dining room. A very good restaurant to go to when you need a good meal.

Honestly not great, lobster was not cooked through. Steak was okay, not a lot of flavor. Ordered Creme Brulee and was told 15 minutes later they had none.

This is my husband and my "special occasion" go to restaurant. The service is always excellent, the food is always superb 👌. Everything is always cooked to perfection. Yum! The price is a little high, but you get what you pay for.

Joseph’s tries their hardest to be as close to Peter Luger’s as possible and in no way is that a bad thing. It is, by far, the best steakhouse I’ve ever had in CT and believe me when I say that I’ve been looking for a good, upscale steakhouse like this in this state for YEARS.

the food at josephs is really very good, bordering on outstanding. but the ambience is minimal and the service is slow. but on this occasion, and it was the occasion of our anniversary, there was no mention of our anniversary celebration, even though i had written that in my reservation that it was our 27th wedding anniversary, and that i found very disappointing.

Went for lunch. The steaks are obviously perfect. The mashed potatoes might have a ratio of 1:1 potato and stick of butter… amazing. The Caesar salad was fine but not spectacular.

Unquestionably, the finest rib eye bone in I’ve ever had. Combine that with great sides, delicious wine, superb wait staff in an awesome setting. and you have a memorable and fun experience. I can’t wait to return!

Everything was absolutely perfect. Joseph’s signature salad is a must. Crabmeat cocktail the best. Bacon close to 3/4” thick. Porterhouses so tender that your steak knife is not necessary. I go maybe 2 or 3 times a year seems better every time. Just get everything for the table. It’s like home. I’m going for the leftovers now.

I had not been since the pandemic and I was thoroughly pleased with everything, especially the quality and the service. The porterhouse was perfectly grilled and juicy. The lump crab still the best anywhere and the hot apple strudel delicious. The waiter could not have been nicer and I have to say the restaurant including the restrooms was spotless. We will defiantly be back soon.

I specifically noted in this app it was my wife’s birthday. I noticed a white couple was recognized even though I overheard the waiter say he wasn’t sure whose birthday so he brought out two cakes. I am aware it’s a pricey place but I wanted to treat my wife and out two kids. This was 1-22-23. The steak I asked well done, it was burnt. This was the 20.oz. The taste wasn’t anything to spread the news about. I dropped $270 plus a $10 tip. I am not a rich person but I wanted to treat my wife on her birthday. They saw where’s it was two person. I am not sure if that was the app. So I guess the reason they didn’t see the birthday. But the app has nothing to do with the taste. My son had the fries. I am guessing they were sweet potatoes but they sagged not crispy. Definitely not a place I want to RE-visit.

I have league 3 days a week and usually try a new restaurant if I can before league. While at the restaurant I like to order a few different things so I have an idea of whether I'll be back for the food (really good food) or the total service. Really good service I'll come back every time even if I didn't like the food and provide recommendations to my friends. My immediate table service 4/5, food presentation, 5/5, food overall taste, 3/5, price of food and drinks, 4/5 Great place for birthdays, meetings, etc. (2 or more people), 5/5. Joseph's attention to ALL diners 0/5. This is a family style restaurant. Most meals, including appetizers are for 2 or more people. Perfect for small groups and maybe larger. Large wine list. Special coktails. Special dining plates, Joseph's special salad. Gender specific bathrooms. Clean. My favorite was the lobster bisque, baked potato and the thickly sliced bacon. NOTE: I basically went for the bacon because I saw it was one of the most popular items on Open Table. It IS delicious. As with any review, I usually like to gain my own experiences within reason. Whether being single, a woman or race was an issue, I will never know. But I did have my experience.

My wife was very upset to learn the sirloin steak was no longer on the menu. When I made our Christmas Eve reservations, I asked if there was a way to make an exception for her. Our waiter on Christmas Eve, Mike, said "I am all over it sir, we have it ready for you." Joseph's staff and Mike in particular, made that meal one of the best dinner experiences we have ever had.
