The fried chicken sandwich was pedestrian at best. Fries were great; bloody’s were great; service was excellent.
Terrific meal with excellent suggestions from our server Zibby. Beef Cheeks were deliciously prepared and the Monkfish was perfectly paired with savory mashed potatoes. And don’t get me started with the cherry crumble dessert! So tasty! We’ll be back for another fun date night!
Wonderful service and a wonderful dining experience.
The hostess staff were very nice and the restaurant has a warm atmosphere. Sadly, the food was subpar. The monkfish was spongy with no taste, the beef cheeks were overcooked and hard, the horseradish risotto it was served with was….strange. Sadly we cannot recommend this establishment.
The best restaurant I've eaten at in a long time. Everything we ordered was amazing! Service was spot on. Our server Kyle was informative and attentive. We tried almost everything on the menu and loved it all! Can't say enough positive things about this place!
Kyle is da best
First time at Josephine's. Ambiance and décor were very cozy. Had the ham rillette to start. Very nice touch with the crumbled bacon and the relish. The scallops were cooked perfectly and the shitake mushrooms added a nice touch of umami. My wife had the rabbit which she enjoyed but a bit on the sweet side for me. Overall a great restaurant and I'll be going back for the beef cheeks soon.
I loved Josephine!!! The food, service and atmosphere were excellent!! The next time I'm in Nashville, I will definitely dine there again!!
Brown butter hollandaise! Need I say more
Excellent service and food! Super cozy spot for dinner.
I love this place and the core vibe of it. We had Tyler as a waiter, very friendly easy-going and knowledgeable. We were there for brunch and both had eggs or quiche and was able to talk without competition from the lack of acoustics. Definitely try Josephines!
Wonderful brunch experience! Loved the ambiance and our server, Kyle. He gave recommendations for food.. and things to do in Nashville.
Only critique: Chicken sandwich was too heavily sauced.
Food was exceptional!!! Service was even better. 1/2 price wine was the icing on the cake.
From the pleasant greeting at the hostess stand to the knowledgeable explanations and recommendations from Gabe, our server, and Karen the GM, the experience couldn't have been better. Thanks for making a special night even more enjoyable! We'll be back again soon.
Josephine is just that perfect place away from the "strip" and nestled in the cutest community of boutiques, breweries and coffee shops. The food is excellent, the drinks and wine list top notch, it's just fancy enough for a first date, and yet casual enough for a pop in burger at the bar. We always experience something special here.
We made a spur-of-the-moment decision to eat at Josephine's. We were two couples and a toddler. They put us in a quieter part of the restaurant, which was great. Our server was friendly and thorough, with great menu suggestions and steering us through potential allergies. We will be back.
Monkfish entree was too salty. Rabbit entree tasted as if stirred in jam.
Wonderful ambience, service was superb, portions were small but very good. We will definitely go again.
Disappointed that there was no tasting menu available. When you order a gin and tonic, it should be a reasonable expectation that it is stirred. Appetizers are larger than the entrees. The cornbread appetizer and the beef tongue were simply outstanding. So was the beef cheek entree. Sweet potato appetizer and the scallops entree were just okay.
Kyle presented us with amazing food which did not disappoint. A return visit for sure. Thank you for making our experience a memorable one!
Gabriel was great. A consummate professional waiter. Deserves praise.
The food was great. Nothing came out exactly what I was expecting, in a good way, everything had its own little flair.
I would highly recommend.
Menu was challenging. Many items that did not appeal to us. Our food was good.
Great food, pretty slow service. Some cocktails were better than others. Overall a great experience with room for improvement
Celebrations are always wonderful at Josephine. The informed and intelligent service of Emilee made it even better than usual.
From the opening brussel sprouts and fingerling sweet potatoes, to the beef cheek and the pot de creme, it was all delicious!
This was a very nice outing. The service was very good, as was the meal.
Thoroughly enjoyed my meal at Josephine;
Highly recommend trying the cornbread (best that we’ve ever had) as well as the steak!
We will be back!
One of us ordered the crab cakes. It came with a salad. We also ordered a salad. They were practically the same. We didn’t touch the salad that came with the crab cakes. Our waiter should have warned us of this.
Enjoyed my whole meal just thought it was a tad pricey for what I ordered. All together I had a great time!
First time at Josephine. Beat expectations. Natalie suggested the monkfish at it was spot on! The duck was delicious, and the wine list had a bottle of Dumol that we had never tried before. Good food. Good service. Good value. Hard to beat
The food is not memorable. I had the happy hour double burger that was tasty but not special at all. I also ordered brussel sprouts which had a cheese sauce on it. It was too much cheese sauce and eats really heavy. I also had the duck, which was really small for a $33 dish. The duck was chewy and did not have much taste. The food was passable but not memorable especially for the prices
Everything was incredible. Can't say enough good things about this place. I'll give you the advice our server gave us-get the burger. Just trust me.
Food came out lukewarm/cold. We're not ones to complain about our food when we eat out unless it's just awful (which it wasn't) but probably won't be back again. Service was great though.
Food was decent, the crab cakes had un-chewable shells in them. Our server was great but messed our bill and charged us double somehow. I wouldn’t recommend it.
Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Limited menu choices and no specials.
We were disappointed that there was no good option for snack at bar/happy hour.
Food was good but nothing on the menu that I would rush back to have again.
A blissful reprieve from the chaos and noise downtown. Food good albeit a bit salty and pricey. And no vegetarian options for the main course. Our server was excellent.
Brunch with my husband. It was a great restaurant. We split a salad, the burger and the fried chicken sandwich. The food was delicious, good sized portions. The Bloody Mary with Old Bay rim is not to be missed! Our server was very professional and nice.
Birthday girls trip
This dinner was absolutely incredible, the best we had in Nashville! You have to order the chicken, I am still dreaming about how delicious it was weeks later! You will not be disappointed with this dinner spot!
Wonderful evening. We were a group of 5 and our server (Zibby) was beyond amazing! She interpreted our needs, made fantastic suggestions and allowed us to relax and enjoy! Look forward to returning soon.
