First time at Josephine. Beat expectations. Natalie suggested the monkfish at it was spot on! The duck was delicious, and the wine list had a bottle of Dumol that we had never tried before. Good food. Good service. Good value. Hard to beat
The food is not memorable. I had the happy hour double burger that was tasty but not special at all. I also ordered brussel sprouts which had a cheese sauce on it. It was too much cheese sauce and eats really heavy. I also had the duck, which was really small for a $33 dish. The duck was chewy and did not have much taste. The food was passable but not memorable especially for the prices
Everything was incredible. Can't say enough good things about this place. I'll give you the advice our server gave us-get the burger. Just trust me.
Food came out lukewarm/cold. We're not ones to complain about our food when we eat out unless it's just awful (which it wasn't) but probably won't be back again. Service was great though.
Food was decent, the crab cakes had un-chewable shells in them. Our server was great but messed our bill and charged us double somehow. I wouldn’t recommend it.
Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Limited menu choices and no specials.
We were disappointed that there was no good option for snack at bar/happy hour.
Food was good but nothing on the menu that I would rush back to have again.
A blissful reprieve from the chaos and noise downtown. Food good albeit a bit salty and pricey. And no vegetarian options for the main course. Our server was excellent.
Brunch with my husband. It was a great restaurant. We split a salad, the burger and the fried chicken sandwich. The food was delicious, good sized portions. The Bloody Mary with Old Bay rim is not to be missed! Our server was very professional and nice.
Birthday girls trip
Wonderful evening. We were a group of 5 and our server (Zibby) was beyond amazing! She interpreted our needs, made fantastic suggestions and allowed us to relax and enjoy! Look forward to returning soon.
We had high expectations for my wife's birthday dinner. The cornbread was burnt. The salad had four crouton's and a few pieces a bacon. Then the main course came out. The crab cakes were underdone and had lots of shells in them. The pork schnitzel was bland at best. For $120 for two it was very disappointing. And nothing for the birthday other than a card on the table.
Love everything about Josephine. However, bar staff is inexeprienced (this is due solely because of the labor shortage). They are good, just not great. The girls at the front are fantastic.
By far the best meals we had in Nashville! Service was excellent!
You cannot go wrong with this spot. You can usually snag a spot at the bar if you are early for your reservation. Hands down one of the best places to eat in Nashville.
The service was great. We had a couple of drinks and were not rushed to order our entrees. I had the duck breast and my wife had the salmon. Both were prepared with unique and excellent sauces. However, the duck was only warm. Each dish was served without any accompanying starch or vegetables. That would be fine if there were options on the menu to add a side. Also, the menu lacked any appetizers or side salads to complete the meal. I left the restaurant hungry.
The potential is here for a special diner, but the menu needs some work.
Really good food and service. Was exactly what we were looking for.
Very enjoyable dining experience. Great atmosphere and food. I had the pork schnitzel with BBQ sauce and slaw, a unique fusion of a traditional German dish with Southern comfort. It was delicious. We’re definitely coming back to Josephine the next time we’re in Nashville!
I already sent a separate email to the restaurant directly, it was that lovely.
Josephine's brunch on Sunday was phenomenal. We oftentimes brunch as friends and/or family members get together.. All eight in our party were pleased. Those out of town commented that they would like to eat at Josephine's when they return and those of us from Nashville will return for dinner soon.
Neighborhood gem with excellent brunch. Do not miss the donuts or BLT!
The restaurant is lovely! The food was fine, though a little salty in general. The salad was delicious! The server was lovely and did a great job answering questions, being attentive, and helpful!
It’s was great
Food, ambiance, and service were all absolutely perfect. Zibby made sure we were well taken care of but gave us plenty of space to enjoy our anniversary. And make sure you get dessert! it’s worth it!
I thought the duck breast the best ever With a slab of bacon on top, it was juicy and very flavorful.
A delicious lunch with a sweet donut appetizer. A nice neighborhood to walk around and some cute shops nearby.
The ambiance was great, and no complaints about the service. The drinks were as expected. The food was very underwhelming. We ordered cocktails, and were expecting to order wine once we were finished with cocktails but the food (schnitzel & the Risotto) came out within minutes of ordering it. I’ll eat about anything, and wouldn’t have ordered the schnitzel but the wait staff sold it hard. It was just bad. Like, they should just go ahead and take that one off the menu. The risotto was better, but also underwhelming, and it was soupy. A spoon would have been more appropriate to eat it with. I’ve dined here a handful of times over the years and haven’t had any complaints, but the food this trip warranted this review.
Love the ambience and the chicken dish was fantastic, as was the green tomato gazpacho & the corn bread. Unfortunately, the duck came out cold and the Salmon filet had a few bones. At the end of our meal, a bottle of Prosecco was added to our bill that we did not purchase. Hoping it was just a mistake, but certainly glad we double checked the bill.
As always, great meal and great service. One of the freshest salads I’ve ever experienced with just the right amount of dressing. Duck was unbelievably tasty and the happy hour double burger a bargain at $8.00. Haven’t been there since before the pandemic and have missed it. One of my favorite dishes in Nashville is the chicken for two. Skipped it this visit but will definitely be back.
We loved it!
Dinner early Saturday night. Service was attentive and we did not feel rushed. We started with the hit scrapple lettuce wraps—trust me, you should try this dish!—and had the black cod (me) and pork schnitzel (husband). Both were excellent as were the wine by the glass choices. Dessert was hot chocolate chip cookies we paired with 20-year-old tawny port. Definitely recommend!
Service was very good. We were just disappointed in our meals. The salmon was in a soupy broth and the duck breast was well prepared but just not much flavor.
Celebrating a birthday. Great server!
Food was spot on
One (foodie) friend said it was the best eggs benedict she’s ever had. Everything was well seasoned and tasty.
Great food! Bartender not as attentive as he could have been.
Came for happy hour. Had a double cheeseburger for $8 that was juicy and delicious. In fact it was so good I had a second one for dessert!
Visiting Nashville, this was a great recommendation from a friend. Food and drinks were great!
The food was delicious and our server was outstanding! We had the sticky bun, cinnamon donuts, chicken sandwich and crab cake and everything was amazing. We were on a time crunch and our server managed to get us out quickly while also pacing the meal so that we could genuinely enjoy each item. Highly recommend!
Excellent service with great food
we enjoyed our evening. I am highly critical of crab cakes and theirs were very good ( I am from Va/MD). salmon was cooked perfectly and the duck was very good. Loved the Bloomy Rind cheese tray! service was outstanding
Great experience at Josephine. Lettuce Cups were divine and unique. The Chicken for two was top rate! Service was attentive, kind and the ambiance was quiet for a Sunday night. I would recommend.
