The "snacks" and "vegetables" are really interesting - the buffalo cauliflower was so good! Unfortunately, the halibut was overcooked and very dry. Loved the atmosphere, and the dessert (home-made apple pie) sounded amazing, wish we had tried it. Overall I liked it and will be back, but maybe trying a different entree.
A wonderful intimate experience from beginning to end. We loved our server who was knowledgeable about the menu and helped us course out our dining experience. Loved the little touches like the SA remembering to bring a serving spoon and the adorable cookie packages gifted by the host at the end of the evening. A truly lovely dinner to cap off our trip to Nashville.
Overall did not think the food was very good. I had the scallops and was nothing spectacular about it. My wife had the rabbit with dumplings and was overly sweet and I was expecting it to be more savory. I would not go back.
I love Josephine for dinner. My first experience there for brunch was outstanding. We had the biscuit and gravy with eggs - it was delicious! The waitress was fabulous and the wine was perfectly paired as always.
Incredible food and even better service. One of my top Nashville choices!
We had an enjoyable experience in every. Our server was great, and the food and ambience were excellent. It’s a bit pricey, but it is well worth the price. A great place for a special meal.
Some hits(brussel sprouts, mmm) but a few misses as well. Great service.
Awesome!!!!! Service was outstanding.
The food was excellent. The swordfish was very good. Get the apple crisp for dessert. Very good
Great service, food and ambience. Definitely returning within the next few months.
Everything about Josephine is outstanding. You will pay a premium, but the food and the ambiance are worth it. While you’re there, check out the “secret” bar behind the restaurant—in the former carriage house. Eating at Josephine was an absolute treat, and I can’t wait to return. They’ve got something very special going on.
We took out son and his wife out to dinner for his birthday. It was a perfect celebration spot. You could hear one another talk and the ambience was excellent! The food was great, as always!
We had our Holiday Brunch for our employees at 12 South Farmers Market. Everyone enjoyed their meals and drinks. I especially liked my “Brunch Fried Rice” and the doughnuts we got as an appetizer :)
Brunch food was legit and as good as any in the cith
This place is delicious!! Interesting cocktails, amazing food! We had the sticky buns (drool) and the buffalo cauliflower (yum) as well as the friend chicken sandwich which was crispy outside, perfectly cooked on a soft bun with pickles!
Our server was great and we would highly recommend!
Winning in all respects, we had a fantastic and creative dinner at Josephine's.
We went for my wife’s birthday and everyone we interacted with was sure to wish her happy birthday. They even had a hand-made birthday card on our table for us
First time diner. Liked everything about the experience. Only comment, as noted, is value. Portions were small for the price.
My and my wife's anniversary was spent at Josephine. We dragged along my 24 year old son, who was, at first, ambivalent but hungry. Before we got to the entrees we were all savoring every bite for inordinate amounts of time. Seemed the right thing to do. Staff was great, too.
Nice menu, higher end wine offering, excellent service. We enjoyed our evening.
The food was incredible, I went for my birthday dinner and loved it. Would go again!
Went to Josephine with three friends that are from out of town on New Year's Eve. We were happy to find that they weren't doing some crazy expensive New Year's menu and that they also had several good options for one of our vegetarian guests. We made a reservation and were immediately sat upon arriving. The ambiance was nice and cozy. My friend was able to pay a corking fee for a bottle of champagne she brought, and we all enjoyed wine or cocktails. The service was great and the food was even better! The cornbread for an appetizer was unbelievable, and everyone was very happy with their meals. I will definitely be back and recommend this place to friends.
The food was fantastic and the service was great, even on NYE which was a very busy night. I would definitely recommend Josephine to a friend and will probably go back soon.
We loved everything about Josephine and will dine there again when visiting Nashville. Good cocktails, great cornbread and the lamb bolognese was terrific.
Was a fantastic choice for Girl’s Night Out! The food was fabulous!
We were celebrating my birthday and our visit was the end of our weekend celebrations. What an ending it was too! I had the eggs benedict and it Josephine’s riff on a classic and not to be missed. Linda had the Quiche and it was heavenly. Paired with a perfect Bloody Mary and Josephine’s coffee and it was a home run!
Don’t just go here…run!
What a great find. The food was excellent. Had the lobster lettuce wraps and the chicken for 2. Best chicken ever! Service was superb! Our wonderful server Danielle was friendly and informative. Would have loved if she could have joined us for dinner! Highly recommend!
Excellent service; great detail to presentation; noise level minimum. Ambiance fun.
Drinks were terrible
Wine was old order Bourbon also was old
Sad because it’s a great place
Decided to try via recommendation from Bobby Hotel concierge and it was excellent!
We had higher expectations. Cocktails were very good. Buffalo cauliflower app was oversauced, oversalted and overly oily. More fit for pub than fine dining. Cheese platter was fine but seasoned walnut accompaniment was so salty as to be inedible. Scallop entree arrived barely warm. Scallops cooked nicely (tho only modestly warm), but parsnip, potato purée, okra were near room temp. Halibut has a nice crusty browning but it was overcooked. Again, we had higher expectations. Wine list was nice, as was ambience. Skipped dessert to limit our disappointment. Will only return for cocktails.
Food was excellent. Very attentive service
Loved the ambiance and wait staff was attentive and helpful. We asked that we take our time with the meal and they accommodated perfectly. Duck comfit and rabbit were excellent; pork chop was tasty but quite fatty and difficult to cut.
Because we had a party of 3, we didn't fit at an intimate 2-person table and had to sit at a larger round table that easily fits 4 or 5. Because of that, it was sometimes hard to talk with one another. It wasn't a terribly noisy place but noisy enough that it was sometimes hard to hear everyone at the table.
Overall, I'd recommend Josephine, particularly if you have a party of 2 or 4.
Visiting Nashville from Colorado and tried Josephine. Food was delicious, drinks were excellent, and service was impeccable! To start, we had the cow's tongue and brussel sprouts: they were cooked very well, especially since cow's tongue can be challenging to get tender but it was. For the main dishes, we got duck, halibut, and lamb, all of which were great choices, especially the duck confit. The warm apple cobbler was a great dessert to finish! Little touches like ensuring the table was clean and folding our napkins when we left the table were greatly appreciated. Plus, our server was very friendly and not overbearing. Highly recommended!
As always, spectacular. In a foodie town, one of the best available.
Everything was great, only seating is a too close. Another and perhaps larger Joesphine's in Franklin TN. would be Awesome!! Thank you!!
