Had not dined here since first year opened. So glad we tried it again. Wonderful meal and wonderful service from our server Kyle.
The waiter was not the best. Rushed us to leave. Rushed us to finish our food. Not the most friendly. Did not even pour us wine ): nevertheless food was good!
Great atmosphere and good food!
Great food, great service, great ambiance. The swordfish is very good. Parking is easy and wine specials are a great value.
Excellent! Went for lunch. Will go back for dinner.
We were there for our anniversary. Shannon was amazing, as usual! We will be back!
Josephine's delivers! One of our favorite, foody spots. The food is unusual and excellent. The beef cheeks are a must have, the kale salad divine. We took advantage of "1/2 off wine-bottle Wednesday" which was a treat...but also had excellent pre-dinner cocktails. An Old Fashioned plus a Long Island Iced-tea set the romantic mood for this cozy, fabulous dining experience. We will definitely be back next time we visit Nashville.
This is my first restaurant review ever! I have been wanting to go to Josephine’s since we moved here. So tonight we decided to go. DISAPPOINTED!!! Pros: great atmosphere. Staff was friendly. Appetizers were great ( Brussels sprouts and hash browns) but our entrees were horrible. I had the pork shoulder…. Which mostly consisted of collard greens … which I love … but there was barely any pork shoulder meat… just a big hunk of fat!! scant amount of grits. But way too much collard greens that saturated the entire meal. Basically I had a vegetable plate. Just unacceptable for $36!!! The manager did comp us this meal My husband had the scallops and we didn’t have the heart to tell them how awful they tasted. Musty was the word we could come up with. We are not picky eaters and I overheard the table next to us discussing the not so tasty scallops that they had ordered. We finished with bread pudding which is one of my favorite desserts. So it ended on a good note. However, this is a one and done place for us.
I’m a local but seldom try new places. I’m wanting to try one new one a month and I thought Josephines was perfect for my January try. The location is great. I loved the atmosphere and the service. The food will not disappoint. The biscuits won the prize. I’ll recommend to anyone visiting Nashville.
Went for Brunch. Place was maybe 1/4 full. Service was excellent! But it took 15 min to get drinks. Again, not like it was crowded. We ordered the Apple and Fig Fritters. YUM!!! But, sadly the meal peaked at that point. My friend ordered the Bacon Omelet. The eggs were so undercooked, no cheese, not nothing in it. Like bad! And it had just a tablespoon of bacon on top...like a garnish. It was served with fries. Weird, but ok. But they were cold. Other items were ok, but not remarkable. Nothing was hot.
I'd like to try dinner, at some point, but I won't waste my time on Brunch again. Especially since it's a 45 min drive to get here.
Sat at the bar. Bartender was very attentive. Food came out quickly!
Absolutely perfect! Our server, Kyle, was first rate. If he could travel with us to every restaurant we go, that would be ideal!
Chef Andy is special, we’re lucky to have him here in Nashville. Everything he and his team prepared was exquisite!!
New Years Eve
Only sadden by the No cobbler! That is one of the reasons we eat here and often bring out of town guests.
BRING BACK The Cobbler please
Josephine was outstanding for a dinner date on a week night. Friendly and super fast service, delicious food, and gorgeous space.
Wonderful dining experience. Our server, Kyle, was remarkable. Everything he suggested was delicious!
Had a beautiful dinner with Mom at Josephine’s. Excellent food - had beef cheeks risotto entree and monkfish. Great wine selection too. Ambiance very nice and our server provided excellent southern hospitality.
Atmosphere was great! Food was good but portions were smaller than expected for the price. When we got there only 1 other table was seated.. we were seated right next to them instead of spacing out a little. Their loud conversation was unfortunate for our date night.
My birthday brunch with friends was delightful in every way! The staff at Josephine are topnotch, especially our server, Emilie.
The apple fig fritters were a lovely start. We savored each bite of our entrees; food that delicious deserves attention. Emilie helped us choose the just right champagne from their excellent list. Even the lattes are perfection.
I trust Chef Andy’s abilities so much, I will try anything on the menu - including scrapple! He makes that stuff taste good!
Thank you again, I can’t wait to come back.
Wait staff was wonderful, the food delicious, and the scrapple divine. Oh, the scrapple. Mmm.
It took 10 mins for a server to show up at our table. 20 mins for drinks to arrive/30 for apps/60 for the main course.
Great food and service
A definite repeat visit is due!
I have been here many times and have never had a bad experience. Good good and service. Parking is a bit of a pain but worth the hassle.
Brunch. Server was excellent and very attentive. Food was generally very good. Only thing that could have been improved was the grilled chicken sandwich. Full breast was served on a bun but it was over an inch thick. Would have been better if it had been pounded before grilling.
The waiter was excellent! Wonderful service and great happy hour specials. Would have liked more choices for appetizers but my scallops entree was delicious! My husband’s steak looked yummy too.
Great food, drinks and service!
The fried chicken sandwich was pedestrian at best. Fries were great; bloody’s were great; service was excellent.
Came for Brunch and was not disappointed! Will recommend and return!
Terrific meal with excellent suggestions from our server Zibby. Beef Cheeks were deliciously prepared and the Monkfish was perfectly paired with savory mashed potatoes. And don’t get me started with the cherry crumble dessert! So tasty! We’ll be back for another fun date night!
Wonderful service and a wonderful dining experience.
The hostess staff were very nice and the restaurant has a warm atmosphere. Sadly, the food was subpar. The monkfish was spongy with no taste, the beef cheeks were overcooked and hard, the horseradish risotto it was served with was….strange. Sadly we cannot recommend this establishment.
The best restaurant I've eaten at in a long time. Everything we ordered was amazing! Service was spot on. Our server Kyle was informative and attentive. We tried almost everything on the menu and loved it all! Can't say enough positive things about this place!
Kyle is da best
First time at Josephine's. Ambiance and décor were very cozy. Had the ham rillette to start. Very nice touch with the crumbled bacon and the relish. The scallops were cooked perfectly and the shitake mushrooms added a nice touch of umami. My wife had the rabbit which she enjoyed but a bit on the sweet side for me. Overall a great restaurant and I'll be going back for the beef cheeks soon.
I loved Josephine!!! The food, service and atmosphere were excellent!! The next time I'm in Nashville, I will definitely dine there again!!
Brown butter hollandaise! Need I say more
Excellent service and food! Super cozy spot for dinner.
I love this place and the core vibe of it. We had Tyler as a waiter, very friendly easy-going and knowledgeable. We were there for brunch and both had eggs or quiche and was able to talk without competition from the lack of acoustics. Definitely try Josephines!
Wonderful brunch experience! Loved the ambiance and our server, Kyle. He gave recommendations for food.. and things to do in Nashville.
Only critique: Chicken sandwich was too heavily sauced.
Food was exceptional!!! Service was even better. 1/2 price wine was the icing on the cake.
