Delicious food, great service! The pretzel and roasted cauliflower were a great start! The scallops were perfect and we really enjoyed the apple pie and pecan ice cream!
Tables are very close and the restaurant is loud. We found the menu to be difficult. Dinner was okay but nothing special.
Sincerely one of the most enjoyable meals I have ever had! Think I will be returning very soon!
We shared to whole chicken entree. It was amazing! There was enough for at least 3 people to enjoy. Our server was attentive and friendly. We will definitely go back.
The food was a tad disappointing. My husband had the skirt steak and loved it. I had the scallops which were slightly undercooked - the sear was just not there. The cabbage dish it was served with tasted like liquid smoke and was not pleasant. My son and his wife had the monk fish. My sons was undercooked and had to be returned to the kitchen. We had the cheese plate appetizer which was phenomenal and a wonderful dessert. All in all, we paid $260 for an appletizer, onerounds of drinks, dessert and four entrees. The portions were not generous and the consistency was not uniform. I hear they have a great brunch. I truly appreciated the no rush meal - it was nice to at least not be rushed.
Fantastic. We ordered the roast chicken to share, it was truly outstanding. Professional service and comfortable setting.
Third time.. service was awful.. new food items weren’t good, drinks way too sweet
Our first stop on our dining excursion through Nashville! The restaurant is warm and energetic. The staff is friendly, upbeat, and very knowledgeable about the menu. I think our favorite was the whole roasted chicken along with the beef tongue and rally farm lettuce as starters. Save room for a dessert - we couldn't pick our favorite! Everything was spot on, and we can't wait to return!
Went for brunch, our first visit. Had the donuts, biscuits and chicken waffles, all good, but nothing special. Need to go back for dinner.
My husband and I were visiting from Birmingham, AL and decided to have Sunday brunch at Josephine on the way out of town. What a treat it was! Our server, Tyler, was precious and attentive. I got the Josephine Benedict, and tried "scrapple" for the first time - OH MY, it was so delicious!! My husband enjoyed his meal, as well. This place is a gem, glad we found it!
Excellent as always. The whole roast chicken remains the best item on the menu and the fingerling potatoes that accompany it are sooooooo good.
Excellent. We enjoyed our brunch very much. Food and service were delightful. Thank you!
Food had great depth in flavor, service was alright and our waitress was kind, and the establishment had a lovely environment. Only complaint has to be the amount of food for the price of the plates. Quite absurd for the plates to cost what they do to then be served a plate of only 4-5 bites. My recommendation: get the stake and frites. It’s properly portioned for the price you pay and has great flavor.
Always fantastic and this dinner was no exception!
Delicious and beautifully presented foods and wines in a lovely atmosphere.....what more could the diner want? We had a fantastic time at Josephine’s this last Friday evening. Everything was sonthoughtfully done from the moment we stepped into the restaurant until the time we left. We will definitely be back.
$29.00 for 4 small scallops....
Excuse given to not serve salad because of romaine crisis. There are other greens to have had...so no salad on the menu.
Over-priced for what you get.
Tries to be yuppie....NOT.
awesome food in nashville...Im a local and cant believe we never came here before.
Would highly recommend Josephine. Everything we ordered, from the appetizers to dessert, was absolutely incredible! We were there to celebrate a special occasion and they really went above and beyond. They gave us one of the best seats in the restaurant and the service was superior. Would recommend ordering the Brussels sprouts, the hanger steak and the apple cobbler!
From start to finish, our evening was fabulous. The food was outstanding, from the scrapple to the monkfish to the cheesecake. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. We’ll be back.
The Brunch here is mediocre—small menu and no variety.
Their dinners is by far better.
(* if you go dinner, the roasted chicken is amazing)
We both had fish and both dishes were excellent. It was our best meal in 4 nights in Nashville (although Deacon’s is also great!). Don’t miss this special restaurant. Shannon was our server and was terrific. We will be back next time we visit this vibrant city.
As usual they knocked it out if the park. Fantastic innovative food and impeccable service from beginning to end. Abby was great again!!
Service was excellent and food presentation was over the top..
Food was amazing! great stop for my fiancé and I. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a nice dinner. Be sure to bring your check book though :D. Great things on the menu can't wait to go back.
Amazing experience. Service was top notch and food was beyond amazing. Always a great experience.
the Chicken for Two comes out golden perfection. After presenting table side, they take it back to the kitchen, carve and present family style with kale and fingerling potatoes. Their vegetable sides are amazing: the spiced roasted cauliflower was chewy and delicious, the seasoned Brussel sprouts had a tang, the sweet potato fingerlings were crisp, then melted in your mouth.
The pretzel to start is the size of a small loaf of bread. It comes with a mustard for dipping, and is a nice way to not get loopy on your first cocktail. And yes, the cocktail menu is local, intriguing and worth exploring.
Everything was stunning, from ambiance to service but especially cuisine. Perfect.
Josephine's is a must when visiting Nashville as we did during our recent stay in Nashville. It was clear from the food choices and pairings that the chef is a James Beard nominated chef. Entree choices were excellent and unique. Our server knew exactly have each entree was prepared and had excellent recommendations for each section of the menu. Must have--the brussel sprouts as a vegetable small plate. Josephine's is one of the best dining experiences we have ever had!
Tables are a little too close but all the other is well worth it.
One of our best meals in nashville, hanger steak!
Atmosphere was excellent
Service was also excellent
This and paulettes in memphis were our trip favorites
My group really enjoyed Josephine's. the cookies given when we left were quite the touch, too! A few comments... one of drink orders (the mezcal concoction) was not favored. Overall, the rest of our bar drinks were great. The bartenter spilled/sloshed mine quite a bit. I had to ask her to wipe it up/get a napkin, to avoid the drips. Other than that, excellent, and, our wine selection was great, too. Loved the food.. everyone enjoyed their respective dishes. I had the monkfish. It was phenomenal! Look forward to returning.
As usual Josephine does not disappoint. One of Nashville’s best!
I went to Josephine with a group of 5 friends for brunch. We arrived early but they were able to seat us right away. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich and it was delicious. My friends also ordered cocktails - all of which were yum!
Excellent service, nice wine list and food was outstanding. Certainly beats the food on Broadway though certainly not the live music or fun people watching. But if you want a nice meal out before going to party mood this is a perfect venue.
Our food was delicious, seasonal and well-prepared. The service was excellent. However, this restaurant is deafeningly loud. Tables are very close together. If you are from out of town and reserve on OpenTable, you'll likely end up at a table by both kitchen and restrooms, as we were.
very good food , if u are selecting restaurants , i don’t think u will regret selecting Josephine . Waitresses and waiters are very nice
Service was wonderful and the drinks were good but the cheese board was not that good. Salad was great and our hangar steaks were great! Considering what we paid and what we got! It is very overpriced.
Brunch! Friendliest hostess I have had in long time!
Perfect waitress and food!
Went to Josephine's for brunch. Service was slow and two of three plates were practically at room temperature. The plates were returned to the kitchen and came back fine the second time, but by then the third plate had already been devoured. I ordered the waffles and fried chicken. The waffles were thin, not like the Belgian waffles that I am accustom to and the chicken was a not so great version of Nashville hot chicken, again not what I was expecting. Coffee was bitter tasting and refills were slow in coming.
Great place for brunch! Best granola in town and love biscuits and sticky buns! Service is wonderful.
