JORY Restaurant at The Allison Inn & Spa
We always enjoy this place, either for breakfast or lunch. Outstanding quality and service, great location and ambience. Great stop to start a day of wine tasting!
Everything was wonderful!
The ambience was very comfortable and nice. The service was impeccable and efficient. The food was absolutely delicious and delectable. This is the perfect restaurant for celebrating any occasion.
New Year’s Day brunch with family
We had guests in town and went to Jory for Sunday brunch but they did not have an actual brunch but just their daily menu which was good. The pinot burger was great, the porkhash was a little too tangy with too much mustard but overall okay. Service was good except that the waitress forgot our side order of truffle fries, then after reminded she said it will be coming out soon which it did not which told me she never put the order in until then. By the time the fries came out, we were just about done with our meals. In hindsight, I should have canceled the fries or it would have been nice if the waitress comped it for her mistake. The menu is somewhat limited on breakfast items and has a mix of lunch items too. It's a nice restaurant and Jory usually does a good job, but I would go elsewhere next time. The one advantage Jory has is that it takes reservations for breakfast and we were on a time schedule for wine tastings, otherwise we would have gone elsewhere if we had more time available.
Excellent place for a Sunday brunch. Elegant yet affordable.
We have dined at Jory's numerous times and have enjoyed their menu and their service each time. This past week we decided to stay a couple of nights and sample the entire Allison Inn "experience". We were not disappointed. The Allison has mastered the art of service. The entire staff is committed to serving guests in an extraordinary way. Nothing is left for "chance". From the second we "parked" to the moment we checked out it was clear that "impeccable service" is their mantra. There were two issues that cropped but were handled with aplomb. "We Shall Return"...soon.
We found ourselves with a bit of Holiday time on our own & thought Christmas Eve would be a good festive night to try Jory at the Allison! Our service on all accounts, outstanding! Our scallops looked Amazing with pomegranate seeds on top, cooked Perfectly except way way too salty. I tried my husbands scallops to see if it was just my dish~ Nope, just as salty.
We sat at the bar overlooking their large kitchen. Great fun watching beautiful, delicious food being prepared and plated by a team of amazing chefs. The 4 course fixed menu and wine pairings were a wonderful culinary experience.
Not great. As a freelance writer and former restaurant owner I’m writing a blog review of the experience explaining why what should have been a memorable experience was disappointing. I plan to send it to Jory when complete.
the table adjacent to us was noisy. Young women enjoying a birthday. Just the luck of the draw. We have no hesitation in joining you again.
We've been to Jory at least 10x. The food is amazing. Normally my husband and I try to order different main courses so we can try multiple items at restaurants, but neither of us can ever order anything besides the steak here because it is so good. We shared a couple of appetizers and a salad, every bite delicious.
My only complaint was that I made the reservation for dinner two months prior and put on it that we were celebrating and anniversary. We had 5:45 reservations, arrived and the dining room only had maybe 3 tables full. Yet they sat the two of us at the table very closest to the entrance and then placed another family right next to us when there was plenty of other room available. Not very romantic to say the least. When we left at about 8, most of the restaurant, including the nice booths further back, were still open, so we easily could have sat there. Next time I guess I'll ask, but I hate being that person who complains....
As always a wonderful experience. Brought out of town guests who thoroughly enjoyed the food and total atmosphere. Vickie was an added bonus!
Excellent food, great presentation and also great service. Not the first time we have been there during our stay, quality was always high, never dropped over time.
Very disappointed. No lunch menu at 1 pm on a Saturday, Just brunch.
Our favorite place to have a delicious meal whenever we are in the area. Can never go wrong with the burger and truffle fries. Save room for dessert!
Enjoyed a nice quiet brunch on a Saturday in between wine tasting.
Tried calling to say that I would be 15 minutes late. The operator tried to transfer me to JORY but no one answered so she took my phone number. JORY called me just as I was finishing my lunch at Jory and just as I received a text saying that my Open Table points were canceled as a no show (this has been corrected). Very unusual. Everything else was fine
My first visit. I live in Portland. My niece is a senior at George Fox U and I thought it would be a special place to bring her. The restaurant is gorgeous, the JORY and crab Benedict’s were delicious. The salad dressing was so good I bought some to bring home. Then we had a lovely walk around the grounds and enjoyed all the sculptures.
The restaurant was not very busy so I felt the service a bit slow although the servers were really nice.
I recommend Jory to everyone I know. The food and service is absolutely amazing and perfect, every time I have gone.
We are staying at the Allison Inn for our anniversary. Lunch at the Jory was just another wonderful experience of this Inn/Resort. Service was top notch and attentive without being bothersome. Questions were answered professionally and they knew about our anniversary and my wife’s need for gluten free options since I had mentioned it on reservation. (The gluten free bread is very good).
We had a halibut sandwich and salmon dishes and both, along with the accompanying salads, were very well executed.
We look forward to another lunch at the Jory before we have to head home.
Server was great and welcoming! I’ve come here before for dinner and I think that may have set my expectations for brunch so high. Although brunch as good- I would recommend more for lunch and dinner
We stayed at The Allison Inn it was a memorable evening. The food is very good with a heavy emphasis on local ingredients and they have one of the most impressive and comprehensive wine lists I have ever seen (and I have seen many). However, the service is what sets Jory apart from all other fine restaurants: it is fantastic, without being pretentious.
This was my daughters 10th wedding anniversary and the restaurant presented she and her husband a beautiful, personalized, desert tray at the end of our meal.
Food, ambiance and service were all superb. A must visit!
The service was extremely attentive and the food showcased what was local and fresh
Food could be better. Not 5 star. We were seated next to a large party that was celebrating and drinking a lot. They were really raucous. It was very distracting. A quieter dining experience would have been nice.
One of us is vegan which we noted well in advance. The restaurant was not able to accommodate other than some potatoes and mushrooms. A big disappointment from an upscale restaurant.
My husband had the salmon, which was good. But a very small portion for $42.
After reading all the reviews of Jory we were expecting an amazing experience and all we received was a lack luster bust. We each got the tasting menu which did have some hits but also some large misses. The staff did not seem to have any coordination. The ideas behind the dishes were thoughtful but the taste was just lacking. My wife did the wine pairing and they would bring her next glass of wine 10-15 minutes before we ever saw the food pairing. I'm not writing this review to rip the restaurant by any means. I just want to advise against any expectation that Jory will be worth the price or expectation that has been built up for it.
Lovely setting for a special lunch or dinner. Creative flavorful menu beautifully presented.
Celebrating a dear friend's birthday. We were seated at a window table with a beautiful view of the valley. Our server helped us select a perfect bottle of wine and were given uninterrupted time to savor the wine and the view. We order the halibut sandwich and the Pinot burger, both were done to perfection. We had a very special and memorable time. This is not my first visit to JORY but it never disappoints for lunch or dinner. I highly recommend JORY.
The Wagu steak was amazing!
This was our second dinner here. It was our anniversary and it is one of my favorite experiences. The food is excellent. They bring out little extras, palate cleansers, which are such a nice touch. THey gave us a beautiful box of chocolates as a gift for our anniversary. And all the staff said happy anniversary. They go above and beyond. It’s pretty special.
Just discovered the Joey and it was wonderful! Everything was perfect. The food was so good. My steak melted in my mouth! Plus The Allison was beautiful. Even the door handles in the bathroom were exquisite!
It was one of the best meals we have ever had. Everything was perfect and the food was amazing. The flavors and quality were outstanding. It’s a must go to.
Sit at the Chef’s counter to eat from both the bar and dining room menus... you won’t be disappointed.
Stunning eating experience. The staff was on top of their game and really treated us so incredibly well. We did the tasting menu and had a wonderful time trying new flavors and combinations throughout the meal. Highly recommend to anyone wanting a special night out
Had another great lunch at JORY which is why we continue to go back again and again!
Last time we dined at Jory we were disappointed. This time however, was a whole different experience. They apparently have gotten a new chef and the food was excellent. We had halibut and salmon. Both were excellent. We also had the tomato salad and the scallops for an appetizer. Both great. Will definitely return.
Great food, great views, great service! The birthday dinner for my husband was perfect!
Fantastic as always!
