Great food and excellent service!
Despite the distance between tables, a more rambunctious pair were sat next to our table. My enjoyment of the ambiance was less than desired, but that did not overshadow the wonderful service and food that evening. Get out and enjoy a delicious steak at Jonny Delmonico’s!
Our server Kerry was great, the steaks and sides were delicious and it’s a lovely place.
Everything was great. Burrata and Tomato was just awesome!
Server i think his name was domonic? Was amazing so GIVE HIM A RAISE he made our night better than it was heading. Thanks allot
This was one of the best ever dinners we've had!! The cosmo was perfect - not too sweet and flavored just right. The bread was scrumptious - and I don't normally even eat bread! We split the wedge salad with blue cheese and I was practically licking the plate to get every last drop. My husband, who is very fussy about his steaks, found his to be cooked to exactly his specifications. My tenderloins with mushrooms was delicious. The sides were incredible - probably the best hash browns ever (again something I almost never eat) - they were crispy and like mini French fries in the best possible way. And possibly best of all was the Brussel sprouts with bacon and cheese - melt in your mouth good. And not only did this food get us one fabulous dinner, but we both had leftovers for lunch the next day! We sat outside and felt very safe. Our waiter Terry was outstanding!
Johnny Delmonico’s is our “go to” restaurant for steaks. We’ve dined here many times over the years and have never had anything less than an outstanding experience! The steaks are always top notch—juicy, tender, and done perfectly—and all of the side dishes are delicious as well (even the brussel sprouts, which I normally detest). I had the lobster bisque this time, which was exquisite. The garlic mashed potatoes and the hash browns are always excellent as well. The service is always second-to-none; the wait staff are always exceptional and pace the meal perfectly. It’s always a treat to dine at Johnny Delmonico’s!
Everything was fantastic! We would highly recommend this restaurant!
Johnny’s never disappoints. Food and service were impeccable.
The food was amazing, had lots of wine options, thank you for social distancing, we will definitely be back.
Our waiter was Ben. Absolutely the best server I have ever encountered. Very knowledgeable about every drink and food item on the menu.
I highly recommend having Ben as your server when you make reservations!
We had the best experience at Johnny Delmonicos. Our service was exceptional and the food was outstanding.
Wonderful food, cocktails, wine, and service, and great safety standards! We felt very safe dining at a socially distanced table indoors. It was a very enjoyable way to return to indoor dining. Thank you!
Service was great but food left a lot to be desired. Steak was tough and had some fat in the middle as well. For $115 I don’t think I’ll be back
We loved the option to dine outside on a lovely evening. Food was fantastic and we always appreciate your wine list, but would love to see the addition of a Wisconsin wine, specifically from Botham Vineyards.
Julio was fantastic; warm, friendly, knowledgeable and most accommodating.
Look forward to many more opportunities to return to a long-time favorite.
Food was fabulous atmosphere was great and Julio was the best
Outside eating was safe while still having a great atmosphere. Kerry, our waiter, was great. He anticipated our needs and exceeded our expectations. Can't wait to go back!
Sat outside due to COVID. They did an excellent job. Food was fantastic. Both had the wedge, entrees were filet and aged strip, and then chocolate bombe for dessert.
Very awesome environment and great food. Would highly recommend.
Nice anniversary dinner
We were looking for a nice, romantic restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. We found it! It was very easy to book a reservation online. We were seated immediately, with a small view of the lake. The ambiance fit our "dressed up" attire just right. The service was AWESOME. Our waitress was very attentive and kind. The drinks and food were delicious. It was kind of pricey, but we expected that. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant, but perhaps save the expense for a special occasion.
I should add all of downtown was basically empty due to COVID and it being a Wednesday night. The experience might be very different under pre-COVID conditions.
This was our first visit to this restaurant and we dined al fresco on the sidewalk thanks to Covid. The cocktails were excellent and we shared an appetizer of mushroom caps stuffed with steak and blue cheese that was to die for! But that was the highlight. My wife had rainbow trout stuffed with crab. She loved the saffron sauce, but the fish was meh. My 6 oz. filet with bone marrow butter was very good, but certainly not the best I've had. And the two mountains of garlic mashed potatoes we received were kind of silly. We succumbed to the dessert menu and shared a "chocolate bomb". While certainly rich and chocolatey, it wasn't extraordinary. Our server Ben was very attentive without being overbearing, and definitely enhanced the experience, but while we enjoyed ourselves, we doubt a return visit is in the cards.
We had an enjoyable dining experience and appreciated the social distancing and masks.
Both my wife and I ordered Tenderloin Filets both asked them to be cooked Medium Rare. My 8oz was cooked medium and tasted old. It was topped with the Oscar topping. My wife ordered a 6oz and it also was closer to medium well. She had mushrooms as a topping. Both steaks were not even close to the normal quality we have received in the past from Johnny's. Would be hard to suggest this place to a friend in the future. You were not busy enough to have anything come out of the kitchen this poor. Calamari was outstanding. Crab Legs were very good. Sides and Brussell Sprouts were outstanding as was the service. Server was a pro!
Great food and great service! This is a favorite spot.
We've tried most appetizers, soup and salads--all very good. Have never been disappointed with any of the entrees. I have severe reactions to latex and associated food--they take this seriously and accommodate special needs. Pleasantly surprised when I realized it was a Food Fight restaurant--it's the only FF restaurant I'll visit.
Awesome as always! Super food with great cocktails.
The food and service was great. only complaint is that for the price of the meal it really should have included a soup or salad option.
Always excellent steaks and sides. The calamari is the best anywhere.
The food is outstanding. “Rare” is another comparable steak house in Madison. But Johnny Delmonico’s has better service and a much cleaner and more enjoyable ambiance. This is definitely the top pick for a steak house in Madison.
Food is always great, but the service is what makes a great dinning experience
You bet! Our waiter Kerry was outstanding. We had a terrific experience!
Granted it was Saturday Night but the noise level made for an uncomfortable evening! Our waiter was “over the top” and contributed to the noise distraction! Food was good but for the price, the celebration evening was a disappointment. We have dined there before and enjoyed those experiences.
We love the calamari - and it didn’t disappoint. However, we did have a couple of disappointments this time around. My steak was pretty chewy. I expect something a bit more tender at a premium steakhouse. I’ve had better rib eyes at the Outback.
Then, my wife’s halibut was over cooked. She didn’t say anything until the next day. If she’d mentioned it at the restaurant, we would have sent it back.
I don’t think we’ll be back real soon.
Yes, Ben was good waiter No MINT JELLY for lamb dish was bad!
Cynthia, our server, was fabulous! We were celebrating 2 birthdays and an anniversary - she was great! Ask for her. Meal was delicious and the drinks were spot on. We picked the right restaurant to celebrate, that's for sure!
Best cocktails, steaks, and service in downtown Madison. Wonderful atmosphere and warm hospitality.
Steak was very seared and and exceptionally fatty. For the price it wasn’t worth it.
Great food! Personable service.
So perfect to catch up w our adult kids, Kerry was wonderful attentive and fun
