Stone Crab

Fresh stone crabs are found in the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico. They are hand harvested, one claw at a time, and thrown back to the sea. Joe Weiss, and his wife Jennie, discovered this unknown delicacy in the early 1920s, and soon after, began serving them at their restaurant in Miami Beach. My wife and I have been eating at Joe’s for over 25 years. The food made us both sick. My scallops looked old and were cold as was my baked potato. My wife’s halibut was dry. We were both sick on the stomach the next day. The waitress was nice, but so distracted with a big table that she didn’t even ask us how our food was. We greatly appreciated the complimentary champagne we received for our anniversary. But the food was the worst we’ve ever had at Joe’s.

Joe's is a well oiled luxury dinning machine. We had reservations and waited only 4 minutes to be seated. Our server, Ceara, was at our table within 1 minute. She did a magnificent and incredible job! All the other accessory support staff were excellent. She explained the specials, answered each of our questions fully and clearly. She continually check in with us (perfectly). She earned a Golden 5-Star. I had the Seafood platter and this was the best seafood I have had since I was Joe's 2 years ago. This is the best of the best and I look forward to my next visit to Chicago so that we can eat at Joes! Thank you.

Our server made the day. We are not big eaters and didn’t order a lot. The crab bisque is excellent. Our entrees were also delicious. Our server was just so cheerful and helpful. It was my husband’s birthday. We got a delicious dessert! It was just a wonderful experience.

My husband got the Halibut and it was terrible. It was very dry. He sent it back. We noticed tables around us didn’t eat their halibut either. My steak came overdone. This is not the food we have had in the past. Paying $300 for a meal it should be fantastic not ok

My wife and I went there for our bdays and have never been there before. OMG, it was amazing. The food, the service, cleanliness, all the waiters and service associates. The gentleman at the check in desk. This place was perfect for us 2. The ambience was set perfect. Thank You Joes and our wonderful waitress. She had blonde short hair, I wish I remembered her name. She was great to us. Made us laugh and gave us a night to remember. TY To All Working Hard To Give Us A Night To Remember.

Steaks were perfectly cooked and we enjoyed the seafood. Stone crab is still a little too much work for the high price tag, and the cost of non alcoholic drinks was pretty high. Service was friendly and speedy. Nice for a special occasion.

The host upon entry should have been a lot more customer service oriented. He was very nice and friendly to people he seemed to know. We waited 30 plus minutes for the table.Horrible placement for 500.00 plus meal freezing cold the air draft came through. The server was good and food prepared perfectly but this place has lost the appeal.
