Fresh stone crabs are found in the coastal waters of Florida. They are hand harvested, one claw at a time, and thrown back to the sea. Joe Weiss, and his wife Jennie, discovered this unknown delicacy in the early 1920s, and soon after, began serving them at their restaurant in Miami Beach. All of the seafood is fresh and delicious. Service is impeccable. Pricing is not great but, hey, we don’t come here every day!

Great experience! We’ve always loved Joe’s. Haven’t been in Chicago for awhile. One of our fav’s had been taken off the menu. When we asked our server, she assured us they can prepare the “Crab Louis Salad” like we remember. And, Chef did! It was amazing AND to top it off, our server recommended the perfect wine pairing. Wonderful dinner! Go there!

I grew up in Miami and my favorite restaurant is the OG Joe's Stone Crab. When I walked in, the ambiance was very reminiscent of the Miami Beach location with better lighting. The host was a delight! And our waiter was Howie, who was absolutely fantastic ! The food was incredible. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. We ordered the Manhattans for drinks, and they were delicious. For appetizers, we ordered shrimp cocktail, tuna tartare and Cesar salad. The shrimp cocktail was absolute perfection and the tuna tartare was amazing. It has a wonderful wasabi sauce and it's served with a rice noodle flatbread, which offers a magnificent balance of textures! For dinner, we got the miso Chilean sea bass, stone crabs, asparagus and creamed spinach. All were exquisite! For dessert we ordered the key lime pie, which is a home-made must. There's a reason this restaurant continues to be busy at all hours. It's excellent food and top-notch service are the perfect combination for a lovely evening !

Joe's Seafood is always our first stop when we are visiting Chicago. We were fortunate to get Stephen K for a server. He is just the best. We loved our chopped salad, large stone crabs as well as the crabcake platter. The key lime pie was okay. Some of the other dessert choices may have been better but we always need a key lime fix which we got. We've never had a bad meal at Joe's. Only drawback is the noise but that's the price you pay for a popular place to dine. We loved that we got a booth too. Thank you for a great evening.

Been to Joes nearly 100 times. This was the worst experience I can recall. The steak temperature was flipped (I received medium rare, my son medium - we ordered the reverse), the waiter never bothered to ask. Waiter said he wouldn't give us the full spiel because we have visited before then proceeded to go through every item on the market card. After our food was delivered no contact for close to an hour. Felt both rushed and ignored, which is hard to do. Not sure I'm coming back. Too many options these days. Overall just mediocre which for the price isn't good. Not poor but not worth the cost.
