Fresh stone crabs are found in the coastal waters of Florida. They are hand harvested, one claw at a time, and thrown back to the sea. Joe Weiss, and his wife Jennie, discovered this unknown delicacy in the early 1920s, and soon after, began serving them at their restaurant in Miami Beach. Joe’s is a very expensive night out, but worth it if you want to treat yourself. I took my family and mother and my mother was EXTREMELY impressed with both the service and the food. Everyone at my table felt cared for and every appetizer, entree, and dessert was made with care. I am always happy with the service I receive at Joe’s and this was no exception. Kudos to the hard work everyone puts in to make our night out feel special. You are operating at a level well above most other restaurants.

Joe’s is very reliable. The food is excellent—especially the stone crabs and fish—the service is attentive and helpful without being intrusive, and the ambience is energetic but not so noisy that it prevents two people from having a conversation with each other. The room is spacious but the tables are separated nicely, and the people watching is always interesting. Joe’s is on our regular rotation of Chicago restos.

Fantastic meal! Jose did a great job and didn’t make us feel rushed at all! He was very informative and helped us order the best options. The banana cream pie is worth saving room for!

Had the best meal, stone crabs, fried shrimp, and assorted lobster, shrimp, oysters, etc. Will definitely go back for more! Forgot to mention the delicious key lime & coconut cream pies!

Bisque was fantastic and saved the meal. Ordered fried chicken and seafood salad. Should have asked but I fell like the menu should have stated chicken had a cornmeal crust which we didn't love and was lacking seasoning. Seafood salad was full of different vegetables that we didn't expect. I mentioned it to the waiter he quickly took it away and said he would bring me back w/o vegetables. I said just bring me lettuce & I would handle it. He was off and didn't listen. I ended up losing the avocado, egg (which I love) and got seeds which I hate. Wish waiter would have paused/asked before running off. Overall very disappointed. Normally love all Joe's and Lettuce Entertain You but very disappointed.
