So many reviews were about service, and we did not find it to be great at all. Server's knowledge of the menu was average, at best. Fortunately I started reading. reviews, and got food recommendations that way. Crab balls were great. Tuna was great. Swordfish itself was excellent, just sitting on a greasy quesadilla (some may love this). Truffle mac was very heavy, so that's the only item I might not order again. Tried a few specialty drinks, and neither stood out.
Overall, would return for the food.
It was a fantastic visit and we will be back soon!
Our favorite restaurant in downtown Detroit. The food is amazing, the service is the best and everyone is so friendly. The location is beautiful over looking the Detroit river. Highly recommend it!!
The food, ambiance, and server (Karen) were all outstanding! Great views of the river in the far area of the dining room. Thank you!
Always a wonderful experience and amazing food and service!
Overall great experience. Food was amazing and service was top notch. Only thing I would do differently next time would be to request a booth. Our table was in a pretty high traffic area.
Nice ambiance. Good food. Wade, our server, was excellent.
Always Wanted to Dine at this Restaurant, Throughly Enjoyed The Whole Experience,
Incredible food, backed by excellent service and a view that's hard to beat !!
First time at Joe Muer, and everything was on point! From being welcomed into the restaurant, to leaving. Our assigned person, Calvin was superb at his job, and the two managers, sorry can only recall Mike's name were welcoming and attentive. I had three childhood friends visiting from out of town, and they verbalized being very impressed with the quality of services, food, spirits, and desserts, and showed their gratitude to me for choosing you, from word of mouth. Thanks to the front desk manager who assisted us in walking us back to the other side of the hotel to where we erroneously parked, instead of just providing directions! I will be dining with you again, and soon!!! Great dining experience!
Waitress was great as was Keith Ferguson, the pianist.
The food was superb. The service was excellent. I recommend this dining experience to anyone.
We love Joe Muer’s on Detroit’s riverfront. The food is always spectacular, the service excellent, and great view of the river. It’s rather pricy, but a great splurge. On our last visit, I split the 18oz Delmonico (&77) with my son in law (maybe the best steak I’ve ever eaten), with an add on lobster tail ($20), it was enough for two healthy eaters. We ordered fingerling potatoes, but should have skipped this as it came with mashed potatoes. I’m not a big cake eater, but the signature coconut cake is excellent — we shared one generous slice (a good few forkfuls for four people). Enjoy!
Wayne was our server and he was exceptional with his attention to details and recommendations. We had a beautiful table with view of the Windsor skyline. We mostly had shellfish and the lobster. All was sumptuous. The pianist was a welcome addition and also excellent. Thank you.
Our waiter was great. Chic? I think. Table was great. All and all a good expierence.
I frequent this restaurant often and have always enjoyed this establishment. The service is phenomenal and the food is excellent!!
It was a beautiful way to end the perfect weekend for my and my lady. The service was amazing and the food was delicious. The only issue I had was with the crab cake it had some shells inside other than that great first time experience will definitely be back.
I don’t have anything but rave reviews on my experience there
The service was really good, we were greeted as soon as we walked in for our reservation. The food was really amazing me and my date really enjoyed dinner for her birthday.
They always exceed my expectations. The staff was wonderful and they made sure I had a great Birthday dinner.
My favorite spot to have dinner. The manger Mahmoud (mike) was great !
Food was just ok. Calamari was salty.Salad was drenched in salad dressing and my husband’s salad had a bug (looked like a gnat fly) crawling on his plate. Lobster Bisque soup was underwhelming. I ordered the short ribs. The presentation was great and they were tender but not seasoned well. It was loud in the restaurant. Definitely not a place for a romantic dinner. My husband and I were celebrating our Anniversary and it was not a good experience for us 😔. The best part of the experience was the wine and desserts.
Food and service was top notch! Will definitely be back.
Place never disappoints
Took my husband there for his 35th birthday and it was amazing and the view we had was a bonus.
Waiter brought the wrong drink. Brought it back & returned with the correct drink.
Mashed potatoes were cold, waiter brought fresh hot mashed potatoes upon request. Waiter forgot to bring my salad, brought it after being reminded, after the meal had been served. He removed the salad from the check without being asked.
20% gratuity was added to the check ? I was not aware this was policy.
Wonderful meal in a beautiful restaurant. The only complaint I have is with the “discounted” parking, which turned out not to be discounted at all. I inserted the validated ticket from the restaurant staff into the machine and still had to pay full price.
Great food, service and views!!
This was the best meal we have ever had! It was beyond our expectations. We ordered the house special fish as well as the filet mignon and Alaskan lobster tail. It was filled with flavor! The sushi was also very delicious! Will definitely be coming back.
The filet was so tender, juicy & cooked to perfection! Lobster tail was delicious. Lester on the piano was awesome! Order a lemon drop martini. It’s the best! This has been my favorite restaurant for years.
Food was cold and subpar compared to what we’ve experienced in the past very disappointing
Food was generally inferior and of poor value. Meal started with microscopic oysters. Main and side plates less than exciting. Would not return except for drinks at the bar.
C.J. (our waiter) was excellent..... classy and professional!
First time here and so impressed! Delicious food, beautiful views and the service was to notch!
Amazing service and one of the best restaurants we have ever eaten at!
I understand that you have a dress code, I only wish that you would put the full dress code in the open table reservation email. I came for lunch but wore sandals with my long pants as a gentleman; which I find normally acceptable. I had to leave the restaurant and go find a pair of shoes. Better clarification would have been great, since I made the reservation through open table and never visited your website. Other than the lack of cleared clarification of your dress code on my confirmation email everything else was fabulous.
Service was slow. Waitress had lots of tables to service. Still a beautiful Riverfront view .
Dad’s birthday dinner.
My husband and I had a great time at Joe Muer for our 1year anniversary! Our server was Francine, and she was amazing and very thorough! We were constantly checked on by other staff members and who I believe was the manager. I had to tip her on top of the gratuity! We will definitely be back!
