Very nice, classic feel to upscale dining, with piano bar, good cocktail menu and friendly staff. The food however was similar to a pre-made banquet and was very disappointing, especially for the hefty price tag.
We came here to celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary, it was AMAZING! The food was excellent, staff very attentive! Couldn’t have asked for a better night!
Great food, amazing staff with incredible views of the river and Canada. Absolutely worth going to.
Great location great wait staff great piano bar great sushi choices, Just added a vegetarian option , wise move . Great view of Windsor Ca , great for a large party
Totally disappointed, did not meet expectations! My server was excellent.
Joe Muer's is a real gem nestled in the Renaissance Center. The service is outstanding - I have never been disappointed by the attentiveness of the wait staff. They are true professionals who anticipate what I would like - this is the mark of an exceptional staff. The food is excellent. I highly recommend the lobster roll. It is my go to comfort food! There are always daily specials which are delicious. The ambiance and view of the river take this restaurant over the top. I highly recommend you have lunch or dinner here!!!!
Beautiful view of the water. Friendly staff. Food is a bit heavy.
The view of the water was perfect. The food was very good. With large portions. The service was excellent. Very attentive.
Great Food, Great Service and great view of the Waterfront.
Service is always impeccable. Very nice dining room that has a live piano player / singer often which can make the noise level vary depending on where your table is. The seafood, drinks and steaks are delicious, I recommend the surf and turf, lobster bisque and an asian pear martini.
The service was excellent. Our server Katrina, was awesome. She exemplified excellence the entire night! Her recommendations were on point. On her recommendation, we ordered and enjoyed the appetizer, entrees and the desserts. The entire night was awesome! We actually requested her card to request her when we return!

The evening was awesome. Our server was amazing and our food was absolutely delicious!
Dinner was absolutely delicious. We had sushi for an appetizer and our main course of steaks were phenomenal. Dessert is a must here, so save room!
Everything was just perfect and the service was the best! Bridget made our anniversary celebration special!
From the seating to the service to the food, AMAZING!!!!
Excellent food, excellent service! Only knock was it was quite loud, but energetic.
Slow service despite the high number of staff. Great food but you’re going to pay a lot for it. There are tons of other restaurants that offer the same food but for a much lower price.
From a food perspective, a great restaurant.
From a service perspective, not so much. A pretentious waiter with an attitude. Slow bar and appetizer service ( 15 to 20 minutes for drinks, and then more thereafter). The waiter spilling wine on my son, and then offering a replacement glass of a lesser wine. But more important-- no apology . . . and no awareness (or acknowledgement) by the waiter that the service was substandard.
We had the matre d' come over, and I had to suggest comping and replacing the bottle of wine. He said he would talk to the waiter about the service, and I had to emphasize to WAIT until we had left.
Noise level. . . REALLY LOUD. Our bad luck to have two largely out-of-control parties right adjacent to us. No one from the restaurant even suggested to them that this was a fine dining restaurant, and that there were other patrons.
We WOULD try this restaurant again. BUT. . . lose the attitude, provide good services, and don't "rest" on the quality of the food and your head chef.
Celebrated my birthday at Joe Muers with my husband. We made reservations for 4:30 and arrived early. It was a perfect time, not crowded, and we sat by the window facing the water. The service was great, and our waiter Carl was very informative about the entrees. Although very expensive the food was beyond delicious. Carl over heard my husband say it was my birthday and brought out a slice of carrot cake at the end of our meal. Everything was perfect. Wonderful place for special occasions. We will return
Since this was a special occasion it would've been better seating at a table, but Jessica was very thoughtful by checking in on us occasionally and very delightful.
Great wait staff... thanks for being so patient with us!
Sooooo GREAT! We LOVE Joe Muer’s!! Super great for special occasions and...they have outdoor dining (overlooking the river) in the summer!!!
Excellent location, food and old school service!! Great view abd live music too!
Wonderful staff and experience . Food and drinks were amazing!!
overall we had a good time. we with good friends that celebrate their anniversary at the same time as we do. The service to start was a little off and could have been much better. one dinner had to be sent back, but was corrected immediately.
again overall a good evening, but after having been there many times previously this was could have been better meeting what I believe to be a high standard,
I loved coming here for the food, view, and waitstaff. However, with this visit my food was on the salty side, the waitstaff left much to be desired due to less attentiveness. This is the first time it has happened. It took a lot away from the total experience. Disappointing.
Good service, great food, awesome delicious dessert.
The food was delicious. Detroit roll, Baja tacos (first time, won't be last), bisque is usually better but still good. Our waiter Joseph was a delight very polite and attentive. (Although he didn't suggest or ask if we would care for dessert) I would have.
Crab legs were great !! I would go back again just for that !
Birthday sorbet was a nice surprise. So glad I asked about the halibut. Best scallops I’ve ever had.
We came for happy hour and their Detroit sushi roll is SO good. We also had lobster bisque soup along with flat pizza bread, and the quality of food was very good! We were impressed by the service and attentiveness of servers! Definitely recommend!
We would have liked to rate the food as outstanding, but a couple of the dishes had a cloying sweetness to the broth/sauce that was very annoying, since neither of us has a sweet tooth. Given ever-expanding American waistlines, chefs shouldn't compound the problem by masking real flavor with sugar or its substitutes.
Gorgeous waterfront dining for special occasions or fantastic sea food.
Our server was so amazing. Loved the view of the river and lights. Made the ambiance. Wish the piano player would have played longer. I had the soup trio. The gazpacho was weird effervescent taste that I did not like but the lobster bisque and clam chowder very good. I had special halibut and partner had the king salmon special. Both rich and well executed. Could have been a smaller portion! Had the signature coconut cake for dessert which was done perfectly. A chocolate sauce and a few raspberries could have updated it a bit! A very good date spot or special occasion.
Our server Ashley was very friendly and attentive. Great service.
Staff was extremely rude and sexist. Used to be a loyal customer; will never dine here again.
Loved our waiter...can't remember his name...grew up in Grosse Pt., was Irish...I think,...and worked for you since you opened...maybe 7 years.
He was OUTSTANDING!!!!!
We had special out of town guests. Our food and eve were so wonderful!
While I still miss the original Joe Muers variety of sea food the next best thing is the new Joe Muers.
The waiter did the best she could, the wait time for the actual dinner was unacceptable and my own meal came after everyone else finished their meal. We asked to speak to the Manager and he handled the situation extremely well, he apologized profusely and paid for our desserts.
Unfortunately, this restaurant has the best view in town.
