Joe Muer Seafood - Detroit
Book your next event with us
Alyssa was the best server I’ve ever had there and have been there many times. She went over and beyond to make our experience the best ever!!!
Our waitress Jessica was wonderful. I will request her next time I go.
First time at the restaurant. Sat at the bar for drinks and sushi. Everything was great! Casey was super nice and attentive. Definitely highly recommend going!
Everything was great.
Just let me tell you, this was an absolute gem of a place. My husband and I went there for our anniversary and not only did our waiter (Keith) make it something special for us (by adding personal touches here and there) but he also made it his mission to help gather information for the local night life as well. I absolutely would recommend this place to both family and friends without hesitation and can't wait to go back.
Great service! Thank you to our sever Nico for the great suggestions.
Wow what a pretty place. Great ambience and river front view. Food is spectacular with alot of delicious seafood specials.. and mouth watering steaks. We will be back soon.
Food was good. Server was quite pushy at the beginning, hovering constantly and always suggesting the most expensive options on wine, etc. suggested we get the $24.00 a glass of wine when we ordered the $12.00 glass because he didn’t think we would like the flavor profile. Pushed for us to order immediately when we just wanted to relax awhile and take our time. They were not busy and did not need the table. Once he realized we weren’t going with his suggestions, he got an attitude and stayed away but by then our evening was off on the wrong foot. Valet ticket would not validate in the machine so ended up paying $25.00 for parking. With so many new and exciting restaurant options in Detroit we will be in no hurry to go back to Joe Muers.
Good stuff, impeccably fresh seafood. There were shell fragments in my oysters on the half shell, and sand in my scallops and the chowder. Service was wonderful, incomparable view, and heavenly house cocktails.
Sara are server was attentive, courteous, and very accommodating!!’
Wait staff is attentive and professional. Food was delicious. The room is beautiful with large windows overlooking the Detroit River. Singer/pianist was terrific. The experience was really fine dining, with table side preparation for one of our dishes.
First time and our experience was absolutely fabulous. Our server, Nico, was professional and caring. Food was delicious and view spectacular!
An excellent dining experience. Outstanding food and service, if a bit over-priced.
Our waiter Bob helped make our date night out a very special occasion and ensured that we will have many more wonderful experiences at Joe Muer. Most excellent!
Went on out anniversary . Food and service where the best id experienced in Detroit ... sadly we where seated next to a group of 6 people how where loud and abnoxious to the extent of almost regretted it... but the food and service was great. The waterfront scenery was great. Pricey but worth it.
Excellent food, excellent service. Will definitely return more often!
Wasn’t impressed with the food that much especially the main dish which was sea bass.
They bring you a piece of fish alone on a big white plate.
Need to add some color to the plate.
Add rice and veggies will make it more appealing.
Especially when you’re spending $44 for that dish.
Not impressed at all.
Waiter recommended special which was excellent. Husband had swordfish and said it was the best he ever eaten. Made reservations a week prior and requested table next to window but was disappointed that request was not fulfilled. Also stopped at the bar after dinner for a drink . A glass of winds and Spanish coffe was $30 a little pricey.
Great restaurant. Seafood is delicious and appetizers were excellent.
Very enjoyable experience! The ambiance & cuisine was exceptional, love that they have kept The Muer tradition!
A great place for celebrating special occasion!!!
Everything was great, I plan to return. My waitress was wonderfull, when I go there next time I hope I see her.
This place can be expensive, but it is worth it if you take into account the service and ambiance, not just the food. We are always taken care of and always get a booth by the window with a nice view of the Detroit River. Great service. Will come back again.
Service and ambiance can’t be beat.
Soups (especially the lobster bisque) were amazing. Seafood, while yummy, was less than expected for a notable seafood restaurant.
This was our first time there, and we had no expectations. We were amazed at how good the food was, the terrific view over the river, and the friendliness of the staff. A lovely time.
Our family enjoyed the ambiance, the view, and the piano player. Our server Mike K was one of the best servers we have had. The food was amazing and the coconut cake was a show stopper. We had a great time!! Thank you Mike K.
We enjoyed the food, wine and a lovely waitress, Amanda. The holiday decor added to the beautiful Christmas season in Detroit.
The soup and cream spinach were cold. The entree for being a chefs choice was average at best.
Ask to be waited on by Jessica! Fabulous service.
Came before a show at the Fox and tje food was delicious and service was top notch
We enjoyed our 50th anniversary dinner. The service was excellent and our food came out timely and was delicious. We had our first anniversary dinner at the original Joe on Gratiot and wanted to celebrate by going to Joe Muers for our 50th. It was a wonderful evening.
It was my 71 birthday and I chose Joe Meurs Seafood Detroit as I remembered how great the food was. We use to stand in line on New Years eve in the ‘80s with my mom. I am thrilled that Joe Muer opened again.
I had 3 friends with me, whom had never been, to Joe Myers, they could get over the quality and great consistent taste of the food or drinks. Even the tween loved it. Now that is saying something.
I will definitely return.
Waiter was not very good. Didn’t know details about the specials what oyster options were available. Also made excuses about lighting before having to filet the branzino table side. It seemed like he was very nervous or something. Didn’t ask us if we wanted add soup or salad with our meals along with not asking about sides with ours entrees. He came over not know about snow crab availability and offered them to us not knowing. Have been there several times and had a great experience this on the other hand was not as exciting as times before.
Great service, great seafood at the Detroit riverfront.
Went here for my birthday with my friend. Food was delicious and service was great. Restaurant is lovely with a view of the Detroit river.
Phenomenal meal and outstanding service!
Everything was perfect for the night out with my daughters. The table with the view of the river front was excellent. The food was excellent from the appetizers to the dessert. For any key lime pie aficionados like myself, you will be delighted with the rich, tart flavor of the Chefs specialty. I will likely come back to Detroit simply to eat at this restaurant!
Very enjoyable. Great food
It was an enjoyable evening enjoyed with my sister friends. The food, dessert, drinks and the server CJ were phenomenal. Can't wait to return. The black orchid drink is more than amazing!😉😊
Wonderful experience. Starting with appetizers at the bar to dinner overlooking the water with chef Eric paying us a visit and outstanding service by Mike and finishing the evening at the piano bar, wow!
