Wonderful as always! We brought relatives who are used to fine dining around the country and they were amazed at the quality of the food. The filet is easily the best they’ve ever had. I informed the server of a recent diet restriction and the chefs worked with me to provide a meal that was delicious as well as good for me. I was able to leave the restaurant feeling better than usual after dining out. I wholeheartedly recommend Joan’s in the Park for your evening meal. You will not be let down.
Great service, great drinks and great food. Not too crowded and quiet enough for conversation. Fantastic place.
This was my first time at Joan's and was so impressed! The food was outstanding. The only reason for not giving 5 stars was the duck was a tough and not as well seasoned as other dishes. Highly recommend it!!
Beautiful presentation and delicious plates to share. A tasting menu, but we chose individual small plates in appetizer and salads categories. The ingredients were fresh and easy to identify and blended well together on each small plate.
Warmly greeted our party of four. The variety offered something for everyone. When we finally ordered an entree, only one of us was still able to consume it because our appetites were already satisfied. The fish of the day was perfectly charred and prepared, hot in temperature, cooked to flaking, melting in my mouth.
The service was continual and excellent. The dessert pudding was also shared by four and each bite held a delightful mix of caramel and light pudding causing us all to dip in for a second spoonful. The dessert was extraordinary.
What a jewel in Highland Park where no other fine dining comes even close.
Truly a fine dining experience. Delicious and impeccable service.
We've eaten here several times and never had a bad meal, but our most recent dinner was truly excellent. Despite it being a busy Saturday evening, the service was friendly and attentive, the ambience was warm and welcoming, and the four-course prix fixe menu offered plenty of good options to choose from. Everything we ordered was delicious and perfectly prepared; matched with a relatively inexpensive bottle of Cote de Rhone and the outstanding burnt butter pudding, it was a meal to remember.
A meal here is a great experience. Great, interesting food and very good service. The only issue was it was a little chilly. Not a big deal. Two meals, a good bottle of wine and a tip for $220. The are less expensive options, but that isn't why we go here. One of the best spots in town.
Always great food and attentive service. The Chef and service staff accommodated some special dietary needs with charm and tastiness. Wonderful dining experience.
Cozy neighborhood restaurant with outstanding food and service.
Great as always! Food was excellent, same friendly staff every time we go. Perfect place for a date night or to celebrate an anniversary etc. Book a table ahead of time, it fills up quickly!
We always enjoy dinner here! Quality of food and service is just right! Never rushed and always a surprise with a special treat.
Excellent vegetarian choices. The meat eaters loved their choices too. It was truly a fine dining experience for our group of four.
A fantastic evening. 11 tables and every one was treated like family. Food excellently priced and brilliantly prepared. Portions perfect for any nice night out, but romantic enough for a special day.
One of our very favorite restaurants in the Twin Cities area. A very unique set of menu items to choose from with a combination of ingredients that go into each item something that you would never expect to taste so good. Very personable staff and excellent service. A "hidden" gem.
Fabulous meal and Dan (our waiter) may have been the best I’ve had. There were a table of food evaluators in the restaurant and they were obnoxious and noisy but this was not within their control. Great place and I would definitely go back. I was offended that people who work in the industry were so loud and offensive for all. They swore and screamed and lacked “class”. Dan and the team at Joan’s were incredible!
We had been trying to get to Joan's for nearly a year and we were not disappointed that we kept trying. At first we were apprehensive of the four course menu, but the portions were appropriate and the tastes were vibrant. There were 4 of us and we had ordered different selections, so we each tasted somethings for each others" plates. We also sampled a couple of really nice wines. It was a good evening.
I can’t say enough about how great this place is. How do they do this Every. Single. Time?
Excellent meal, went here on Valentines Day. Creative and oh so tasty! Nice wine selection.
Only downside was our server who just seemed to drop our plates in front of us with little to no conversation or explaining of the plates.
I would definitely go back.
As always the food was excellent but the price of it was expensive. Being busy on V Day it was very noisy.
Great food and service!
The food and service never fail to please here. Thanks for making my brother's 60th birthday a fabulous one!
On this quiet winter night, the staff was perfect and the food was tremendous. We can’t wait to return for another special date.
Joan's in the Park is a little gem in our neighborhood. I think I can easily say it's my favorite restaurant in the Twin Cities.
Again, the evening at Joan's was exceptional - we've been enjoying Joan's since they opened. Never a disappointment. It's like eating with family, but a family that has the best chefs in the world. So love this wonderful neighborhood gem.
Fabulous as usual!
Everything was wonderful- perfect date night out for our anniversary. Every member of the staff was attentive and the ambiance was elegantly casual.
We went to Joan's in the Park to celebrate a dear friend's birthday and it was amazing. We all had the four-course menu and every single course was phenomenal. Portions were perfect and service was wonderful as well... we will be back!
This is a small and intimate restaurant but you don’t feel as if you are being crowded. Reservations are a must for this outstanding restaurant. The food was simply amazing and the service perfect. Menu is prix fixe four-course though you can order ala carts if you prefer. But I recommend you stay with the four courses.
Each course gives you six options including vegetarian if that is your preference. I started with the foie gras appetizer then moved to the pear salad. Both courses were small but beautifully presented and incredibly tasty. Third course was a gnocchi dish that was lighter than I thought it would be. Up to this point the portions were small but each was flavorful. My fourth course was the pork shank and it was a substantial serving, such that I needed a take out container. The pork was very tender and well prepared. Perfect, in fact. For dessert I had the brown butter pudding with a cup of coffee. Wonderful!
This was a wonderful first meal at this restaurant and I encourage you to try it. They have a full bar and a good wine list. I will be back!
This dining experience was phenomenal! The food and the service are stellar.
This truly is a neighborhood gem. We enjoyed celebrating my daughters birthday recently at Joan's. The staff had thoughtfully decorated the table with birthday confetti, they took a group photo of us and the service is simply the best in the cities. The food was top notch and the teens enjoyed trying new things from the 1st 3 courses and loved their steaks!
From the moment we walked in we knew we were in for something special. Joan took our coats and immediately brought champagne to the table. We shared a few items from each course and each had our own entree. From the artistic plating of the food to the detail in creating flavors that played off and complimented each other, this was hands down one of the best dining experiences of me and my companions ever had. Kudos Joan and Susan! A big shout out to our server Dan as well. You rocked it out!!
Joan's remains one of our favorite restaurants, with exceptional food and consistently excellent service. This was our f1rst visit since they moved to their four course menu, and it was a wonderful treat. First of all, the multi course menu actually ended up costing less than ordering individual items.
There were 4 of us, so we enjoyed a number of different items in each course offering. All four courses had terrific options, and the food was beautifully prepared, as always. The pasta course was especially enjoyable.
A special mention to our amazing server Kelly. She was fully engaged and engaging, and made the evening especially nice.
The flavors were fantastic and the service was attentive but not intrusive. Will be going back
First time at Joan’s since they began their tasting menu. As usual, food and service were excellent. We will retu.
Great food and service!
A special place for a memorable evening. This dining experience was all about flavor and presentation. The menu concept is that you choose among 5 options for each of 4 courses with the final course as the meat course. Each dish is very small, but in the end, the meal was quite satisfying. The wine selection is extensive and the service was impeccable. A gem.
Fish was a bit dry
We had such a wonderful birthday dinner at Joan's on the Park! Our server was very welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu. Joan was there checking in on every table. She even brought confetti to our table once she found out we were there for a birthday! Everything was delicious but the filet mignon, market fish, apple manchego salad, cocktails, and the bread and butter stood out. 100% worth it - we will be back!
Do not get rid of those grits!
Fabulous, as always!
Joan’s never disappoints. Amazing food and amazing service. The staff is second to none that I’ve seen in the Twin Cities. My favorite restaurant in the city!
