Jinbeh Japanese Restaurant - Frisco
Assorted sushi (1 piece of each: tuna, salmon, yellowtail, shrimp)
The cook turned around and proceeded to blow his nose multiple times in a napkin before he started cooking. Very unappetizing.
He also burned the shrimp and veggies. All 4 of us felt the same way.
I don’t feel like going deep into detail but worst customer service of my life. Sadly the food is good but not worth spending money for the lack of customer service. I will never go back here again.
The food is always good here! Fresh and perfectly put together.
It was very dark inside. Staff was very friendly. We just thought it was a bit overpriced for what you get. Nice for a family to entertain children :)
Went for a friend’s birthday. Little slow on getting the food cooked but they let us know when we arrived they were short one. That is likely because of the way of the world and nothing related to the business. I do not hold them responsible. It is something we have gotten used to at every restaurant we go to nowadays.
We will be back again.
Once seated, the servers and cook were friendly and attentive. The cook did a good job, though with the noise level + mask, it was hard to hear him.
1) Long Wait: We had a reservation and upon arrival were told they were cleaning off a table and we would be seated shortly. Thirty minutes later the staff couldn't give us any updates and we started looking at other dining options and were making a reservation at another restaurant when our name was called.
2) Poor Ventilation: The dining area is compact, and there is a good amount of smoke in the room - not enough to be coughing, but enough to be pretty noticable.
Jinbeh has a great menu - with choices for everyone. The restaurant is much brighter than many other teppanyaki places and their grill/table ventilation is excellent. So it is a fresh and very clean environment. Portion size is very reasonable and tended towards larger serving sizes. Our cocktails were somewhat disappointing from a speed, taste and value perspective - definitely on the pricing higher side. Food pricing was reasonable, but slightly higher than some - however the taste, service and ambience, overall, made the price worth it. We often choose teppanyaki for birthday celebrations and Jinbeh has definitely moved to the top of our list for future visits.
Food was good, no much for social distancing but I guess it’s not setup to accommodate
Jinbeh by far is our favorite Japanese restaurant.
Great food and service
The servers did not seem happy to be there. Our table got food mixed up with other not in our party.
Fun experience. Great food
Our server was in training which was fine but our cook was so new, there was no show and forgotten items so when he left our filet was over cooked.
Great service - cook
Little pricey for a lunch menu
Great food and amazing chef! Very entertaining with massive attention to detail with 8 people at his table.
Food was good but It’s WAY too bright in your restaurant.
Dim the lights and create a better ambiance like other hibachi places.
The restaurant is starting to get run down. Food was great but the cook was not very interactive which my kids love.
Food, staff and atmosphere are great. We try to go once a week. Locally owned and operator.
Celebrated my son’s birthday. Everything was good however, we could barely hear our chef at the hibachi table and barely hear our waitress this time. They brought my son some ice cream with a candle for his birthday and this was greatly appreciated. The food was very good as per usual.
Very nice! Just need to get the air fixed as part of the restaurant was nice and cool and the other was a furnace.
Always a good time and great food!
We love going to Jinbeh for special occasions. We've always enjoyed their food. It's a great family meal place.
Wonderful time celebrating my daughter’s birthday! Great food even champagne from a can!!! I’ve never seen that before!
This place is always consistent . Never had a bad meal there !
good experience. Staff looked tired at 9 P on Saturday
Im not sure why they ask for your specific requests for your food. Everything will be well done or over cooked. Shrimp take less than 5 minutes to cook and they cook them until they're hard as rocks and super dry. This was my third visit and my filet has been over cooked 2 of the 3 times. Its not worth the money if I can't have it the way I want it.
The food was ok at best and they serve big portions, but the restaurant was dirty, the A/C barely worked, the sushi was terrible and the bathroom was absolutely disgusting. Not an enjoyable teppanyaki experience. Save your money and go somewhere else.
Good food & great experience would definitely visit again.
Great place to eat alone with family or on a date.
Exceeded expectations! What appears to be a small strip-mall storefront carry-out joint has a fabulous bar and the hibachi grill tables. The food was excellent - very well prepared and generous portions. Did not try the sushi, but menu appeared to be very robust. Wait staff was attentive and filled drinks often, while hibachi grill cook was not overly entertaining/dynamic - but was able to prepare the food very well, correctly, and promptly.
We enjoyed the food. The only downside was that we had to share our table with others (without prior notice on the online reservation or when we walked in. Even though we are family of 4). That said, whoever came earlier they would need to wait for the other group to join the table for the one time shared service. Also, we felt to be rushed to pay and leave while my children were still eating. We received the check before we asked for!! Otherwise, the food was delicious and the chef did a wonderful job. Thank you!
So disappointed. We have been to this location several times. And always had a fun night. Tonight one of our guest was new to the experience. We had told her how entertaining dinner was at our favorite Japanese Steak House. Our chef was clumsy, did not ask all of us how we wanted our meat cooked, did not perform any fun and engaging tricks. Not one!! Not even the basics. No egg spin, no onion volcano, no squeeze bottle. No personality. Our tip reflected his effort. The rest of the people we had contact with were great!! As usual. However, my husband asked that his meal be cooked separately—he’s allergic to scallops. The chef said ok. Then made no effort to cook his separately. And just kept apologizing after the fact. My husband barely made it home and has been sick for hours. Not a good experience at all. So sad. As it’s usually a great experience. For that amount of money too. It should be a memorable night. In a good way.
Reservation time was not met. The restaurant was less than clean and we didn’t eat until 1 1/2 hours after being seated. Last time I visit there…
AC was not working properly.
Unfortunately everything was overcooked and tasted like char and smoke including the rice which we normally love. Service was great tho.
Food is just not what it used to be.
Our meals were excellent, and so was the service. My only complaint anytime we come is the smokiness and smell. I know that is from the grills, but it would be nice to get some heavy-duty air filters in the building.
Good little food spot. The only issue was the energy from the server. Just looked like she didn't want there and hardly checked on table.
Awesome lunch experience!!! Great portions and great price! Will definitely try this every time we are in Frisco for lunch!
