Great food but low staffed. We had to wait around 45 mins or more to get food. The staff was amazing but just low staffed
Great atmosphere and service. Sat outside on patio, noise level great. Will definitely go back. Prices super reasonable for great food!
Always excellent food and service.
Lunch menu was ok.
Great food, we had the greek salad, braised chicken and 3 hoof pasta. The special margarita was spicy. Service was very good, outdoor patio is nice.
Great food. Had the best salmon and lamb shank dinner. Staff friendly, courteous. Great location lakefront on the patio. Definitely recommend this place.
The good part: Atmosphere was very nice with heat lamps and lighting. The bad part: Service was very bad. Our waiter never came back to our table for a long time after taking our order. After our drink came and we sat there for a long time, some other waiter brought us our salad, not our original waiter. He never asked if we wanted another drink. I had to ask some other waiter walking by to bring us one. When he did come back, he didn't even know if we had gotten our salad. Our reservations were at 8:15pm and we were seated right away, but we didn't get our main course until 10:00pm. The food was cold and the filet mignon was not cooked right, and when we told the waiter, he just walked away. I didn't want to have a confrontation with our waiter. We didn't want dessert, we just wanted to leave that place. I would have gotten up and left, but it was my husband's birthday and it was late, and there would have been no other restaurants open. There was not that many people there so I don't know why the service was so bad. And we noticed another table of a few people who got up and left too. First time we did not leave a tip. The bill was expensive and I think we should have been treated better. I would not go back there again.
Beautiful outdoor patio seating, especially at night. Highly recommend!
My boyfriend, small dog, and I went to Jimmy’s for a nice dinner during our recent trip to Lake Tahoe. We sat at a table outside with a view of the water. Our server was so lovely and thoughtful. She had the Avocado Greek salad we were sharing split for us in the kitchen instead of us having to try to split it at the table ourselves. For our starter we had the Baked Ricotta and then for entrees we picked the Risotto and the Lamb. I would highly recommend all of the dishes we had, they were delicious!
Excellent breakfast. Both the French Toast and Pancakes were fabulous. The bacon was crisp and cooked perfectly.
I had the Zinfandel which was delicious.
Started off with a Cesar salad and then had sea bass.
Everything was good
Loved the ambiance. Watched sunset while sipping bubbly. Vegetable "steak" dish was yummy. Enjoyed the evening.
I had breakfast at Jimmy's with my husband. Both of our dishes contained poached eggs that were overcooked, which felt like eating rubber. We overheard another couple from the next table complaining to the waiter about their overcooked eggs. They didn't get a resolution so they kept eating their overcooked eggs, too. I had avocado toast, which was probably made with an avocado mash from the day before as it was already going brown. The waiting staff was okay, but the vibe felt like "you can eat here while we run our errands". For example, someone who I imagine was the manager, came to check on the staff while we were eating there going through their daily schedule. Overall, it is an overpriced disappointing experience.
Eggs benedict was a disappointment. The yolk on the poached egg was hard. We asked to replce the eggs because the yolk should be runny. Waiter came back with yet another set or hard yolk eggs. Waiter did not come to check on us or refilled our water glass unless we called him.
The menu is very limited.
Ambiance was fantastic...service was excellent...drinks were VERY GOOD...food was good!
This was our 3rd time dining at Jimmy’s during our 2 week Tahoe vacation; my husband and I vacation in SLT every year. Walter was a great waiter, as usual! Ambiance was fantastic, as usual! But this last meal was lacking: my “medium”’cooked burger was “well done”. My husband’s breakfast potatoes were dry, dry, dry! We LOVE Jimmy’s...but the food was quite disappointing. SAD!
Very nice by the lake and you do get a lot of food. We had breakfast twice and was very filling. Easy to spend $100 for 4 people.
Our first time to this restaurant and it was absolutely marvelous! Our waitress Katie was very attentive and ensured that everything was to our satisfaction. We had a great dinner on our anniversary! Will make this restaurant our new go to spot!!
Great experience for happy hour food & drinks! Service was a little delayed, but overall great experience! Definitely would go again. The view was gorgeous plus it wasn’t overly crowded.
Sadly we did not get to enjoy our entree fresh and hot. We arrived at 8:20 and was seated pretty immediately. Received menu and 10 mins later placed our order...for drinks, starters, salad and main course at same time.
We received drinks after 20 mins and starter after another 10 mins. After receiving drinks and starter that’s when it went downhill. It took another 40 mins from there to receive our salad. Salad as in singular because they brought out one. We assumed maybe the server didn’t hear the request for the second so we waited 10 mins before deciding to split it. 10 mins later the server brings out two salads. That makes 3! Since we started sharing the one he went ahead and took the offers back.
We finished our salad and then we wait. And wait. And wait. With the exception of another server filling our water glass there was no update from our server on when we would receive our meal. Finally at 9:50 our server comes out and updated us that the kitchen is behind because hotel guest that couldn’t get a reservation were ordering room service. We said ok and understood. That was until tables around us that were sat well after our arrival (at least an hour) started to get their meals. I even made an excuse for one table thinking maybe they didn’t order starters or salad, but when another table of 4 received their meals and had clearly been sat later...we had enough!
We decided we would just pay for what we had since at that point we were close to the 2 hour mark. And it was getting late! We asked for our server he never came. Finally we jot up and headed to bar area to pay and met up with our server on the way.
It was too late at that point because we had already grabbed our items and packed up to leave.
When sharing our reason for wanting to close tab and go the bartender comped our meal, we paid for drinks. While appreciative for that, it was clearly too late to eat and enjoy our meal. We understand Covid changes some things still aren’t acceptable.
Wonderful birthday dinner experience at Jimmy's ,off the beaten path close to the shores of Lake Tahoe. Reserved a romantic table for 2, with elements of water(lakeview),fire (personal firepit),and air(lovely breeze) as a setting. Chelsey took care of our every desire starting with signature cocktails; a blackberry white linen for me and a manhatten for my husband. I loved the seafood risotto, (scallops were amazing, buttery and sweet).John enjoyed his generous portion of herb crusted rack of lamb cooked to perfection. We ended the meal with an amazing rich chocolate mousse cake, a refreshing lemon tart and champagne to celebrate the evening. We will be adding Jimmy's at the Landing as our restaurant of choice next time we are in the Tahoe area. All the best Victoria and John from San Diego.
We went for my birthday dinner, and the service was excellent! Kevin took such good care of us and made our experience here very memorable. The food was fantastic! Could not complain about anything other than it a little pricey, but that’s to be expected. And worth every penny!!! Awesome memory of first time in Tahoe! Thank you Kevin!
We had a fantastic experience! Everything was delicious and the ambiance was wonderful! Try the Baked Ricotta appetizer!
Perfect setting, menu, and service. We sat on the outdoor patio with views of Lake Tahoe
The food preparation was very nice and all dishes were delicious.
I’ve been to Jimmys dozens of times and it never disappoints. Great food, great drinks, and great service. The view of the lake it also pretty nice. Shout out to Roni who is the paragon of waiters!!!
it was okay, but we had asked for a table far outside, and although there were many tables empty, we were told they were all reserved, and needed more than two people. But there tables of two on the furthest outside...and we had reserved as well- several weeks ago! My husband thought it was because we didn't slip some money to the person seating us- if this is true, it is unfortunate.
Jimmy’s is a hidden gem in SLT. We breakfast, lunch and dine - one of each - during our annual trip to Tahoe. The atmosphere is laid back, which is exactly why we come to Tahoe, and the food is quite good. Nothing too fancy or frivolous - but very tasty. Sitting outside on the patio is a treat, especially for those of us who travel from areas with 110 degree+/- heat indices. Feels like vacation: from the heat and from the daily grind of work and travel!!
Delicious food, coming from San Francisco, not too bad in price, and great service.
Breakdast was so-so .. the bacon was 90% fat, eggs were fried hard (I asked for over easy, potatoes were greasy, and the most insulting bacon wss that given the price there was only one slice of bread for the toast. Smacks loudly of cost-cutting.
Great location on the lake , great food and ambiance!
Roni gave us the friendliest service - very very fast as well and very comfortable with the knowledge of the menu. First time At Jimmy’s and it was a terrific experience thank you
Good service, average food for too high of a price. What you pay for here is the front row view of the lake.
Outdoor patio seating was nice and relaxing. The fire pits and patio covering added a special touch. We had the chicken and it was cooked to perfection.
Risotto was epic
Great organic food, fresh and tasty. Great service
Patio dining was nice, food was good, server seemed overwhelmed but was courteous enough to come by and apologize for the delay in our food.
Nice setting outside but does not really have a view of the lake. Waiter was excellent and staff made a solid effort to overcome an initial mistake. Great menu but unfortunately the food didn’t live up to the description. Both the Halibut (two orders) and Sea Bass were over cooked and both orders of vegetable steaks were over salted to the point of being inedible. We did not find a lot of good options for fine dining with in a nice outdoor setting in South Lake Tahoe so given the good service and ambiance, we would give them one more try on a future visit. Not inexpensive so based on our first experience, it’s a bit of a gamble.
We arrived early before our appointed reservation and were able to enjoy the view while we waited. We were seated at our appointed time. Kevin, our waiter saw to our every need, including some of my food challenges. The food was delicious and we awarded it the "YUM" factor. We experienced a totally delightful dinner! We will definitely be back!
