Jimmy's at The Landing Resort & Spa
Happy Hour: 3:00pm – 5:00pm (Daily)
Dinner: 5:00pm - 9:30pm (Daily)
The service was very slow. We had to wait 20-25 min to order and our waitress was not there when we want more drinks. The food was great. Maybe they were short handed.
My husband and I stayed at The Landing for our honeymoon and ate at Jimmy's one night and room service one night. Both meals were outstanding! The best meal of the trip and one of our top meals ever. Food is beyond delicious and atmosphere is great! We will be back for sure!
Nice evening at Jimmies. Husband had the Filet. He said it was great! I had the Gnocchi and Grilled Chicken. It was ok, too much gnocchi and not enough chicken. We had a nice small table that looked out at a fire pit so once the people by the fire pit left it was great to have the ambiance of the fire. Made the dinner more cozy! The staff was friendly and accommodating! Lemon Tart for dessert was great!!
We have been here a few times. Service was excellent, Sea Bass was delish, but the Gnocchi was very bland, heavy. I would recommend but stay away from the Gnocchi.
Small menu. Food was prepared well but limited selections. Service was very good.
Excellent food, service, and of course view. A must do!
The location was fabulous. Unfortunately there were some very loud, boisterous, crude drunks outside on the patio and then inside the restaurant. Management allowed them to disrupt and disturb the other guests. This was not the occasional boisterous crowd. They were really obnoxious!!!!! We were trying to have a nice quiet dinner and I might add at a highly recommended, quiet restaurant. The food prices were expensive, which added to our displeasure at having our enjoyment of the evening disrupted. The Jimmy's Manhattan was very delicious and the female bartender was great. She rinsed the Manhattan glass with a little smokey scotch before pouring the Manhattan in. It was over the top. When we ordered our dinners we asked the waitress for a recommendation. She suggested the scallops. I asked it the lardons in the dish would over power the scallops and she said "no." " it's one of the beast dishes on the menu." The entrees came and my husband's elk steak was fabulous, however my scallops were not. All I could taste was the lardons (bacon really). I mentioned it to her and she did not offer to make an adjustment and or change the order. By the time the bill had come, after requesting the management to mention the noise level and vulgar language we were subjected to, and the waitress assuring me the lardons would not over power the scallops, I requested a price adjustment for the scallop dish since I only ate 1 of the 3 scallops. (The other 2 of the 3 I took home for the dog, who loves bacon.) I was told by the waitress that the manager refused to an adjustment. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone and would never pay the prices that they charge again. We will never go back and I will tell everyone never to go there. My experience was awful.
Ownership changed since we were there last year and the menu is somewhat more limited now... just didn't have enough of what I like as it did last year.
We have dined at Jimmy's several times for breakfast, but this was the first time for dinner. We were very impressed with our service and the quality of the food. For an appetizer we shared the grilled octopus and it was extremely tender and flavorful. For our entrees we both ordered the seabass special and were not disappointed. For dessert we shared the chocolate mousse. It was very good and not too sweet.
Sat outside on cheap outdoor furniture no privacy not as upscale as I was hoping but food and service was good
Good was very good and service just about perfect. We found the food to be a bit on the pricey side, but really not to bad considering the overall quality and the beautiful facility. I will be back for sure to try dinner soon.
Great location however service was totally lacking and food left a lot to desire. Entertainment was great and made the dinner passable.
We have dined here before had a really good experience everything was great this time though service was to say the least was very inattentive had a very expensive bottle of champagne we had brought and it sat on the table getting warm for 10 minutes before we got an ice bucket and 2 glasses fresh out of the wash so they were hot glasses perfect for warm champagne I guess. The table was not the one I had requested, the food was extremely overpriced and over cooked I don’t have a problem with the money but if your going to charge that much food better be damn good! Definitely the complete opposite from our previous experience probably won’t be back Definitely not the 5⭐️Dining they claim
Seating was wonderful. Open to view Lake Tahoe. My husband ordered gnocchi—not very tasty. But my ribeye steak was delicious so we shared my entree. The steak was huge. Lovely way to spend a dinner lakeside. We are not wine drinkers but they had an extensive wine menu.
The restaurant has very obvious kitchen problems proven by a delayed breakfast-lunch transition, a very fishy grilled octopus, and a mediocre veggie burger.
The service was just okay. And the prices are fair for the type of offerings, but not fit for taste.
Great location though!
This place is very good, albeit quite over-priced. Portions could be a bit larger, but they are adequate. Out 3rd time there and we will go back, but not often.....too pricey!
The food and service was average. Ambience was okay.
I ordered the $46 steak and my sister ordered the $38 Seabass. Both entrées were quite pricey and cooked with quite a bit of salt. The grilled peach salad, however was very nice! We think the menu is overpriced for the ambience and what you get.
Beautiful setting and always delicious food. One of our favorite places to dine at in South Lake Tahoe!
Laughably bad experience at breakfast (food was fine, servers were fine, but grossly mismanaged and understaffed and it literally took hours, and the host was haughty and rude).
This place was fantastic...fantastic food, great service...and beautiful setting at sunset!
The smoked octopus was very good once I got passed what it was. My wife really enjoyed it but she is very adventurous. I had the lamb which was also very good and my wife has the king salmon which she raved about. We had a great view of the lake and mountains. The service was excellent. Overall it was a very enjoyable dinner.
We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary at Jimmy's restaurant. They did an amazing job...Beautiful table, wonderful service and food. Cheers!
We had a party of 8. Once we were over the 6 limit for automatic tip, they basically did nothing for us. Service was absolutely awful, waitress didn't care, never refilled drinks, never asked how food was and was basically rude.
The icing on the cake was when check delivered they made sure to tell us the gratuity was included. It was the only time in life I have questioned if I can put a negative tip in the extra tip section cause it was that bad.
It took us a while to get a table even though we had a reservation and the restaurant wasn’t that busy. After ordering drinks and food, the appetizer (which was a salad) took 30 minutes to arrive. It took an additional 30 minutes for the entrees to arrive (both pasta dishes.) It was also my husband’s birthday, which they knew about and said they’d do something special for him, but we left without any mention of it. Very poor experience!
Wasn't much flavor or taste in either of our meals. Host kept giving out wrong menus. It looks fancy but food is below average.
Outstanding service for our anniversary dinner. Matt did a great job and personalized our experience and did a wine pairing for our courses. He truly went the extra mile. Was also able to get us out right on time for our comedy show. Would not heaitate to recommend to anyone looking for a great experience in Lake Tahoe.
Unfortunately, as guests of The Landing we expected much better from its restaurant, Jimmy's.
Our breakfast, as a package inclusion was a disaster; this was primarily a service issue.
My wife ordered tea. The waiter reported there was none. We explained we heard the same thing the night before at dinner, but that the waiter then found some. Sure enough, the breakfast waiter went away and found some.
My ordered omelette listed ingredients that steered clear of cheese. The omelette came with two cheeses, one on top, the other folded into the omelette. It was returned and redone.
My wife asked for whole wheat toast. After ten minutes the waiter returned to say they had none. Ten minutes after that, he returned to advise they did find some.
The couple beside us arrived 10 minutes after us, ordered, and received their meal 10 minutes before either my wife or I received anything in respect of our order, including the first attempt at the omelette.( I had also ordered steel cut oats with fruit, and, though only brought along with there original omelette - i.e.., after much waiting - that aspect of my meal was excellent. Best oats ever).
Total time at Jimmy's to get our breakfast: just under 2 hours.
Tip: the next morning we had a much superior breakfast experience at the Best Western down the street. Server David was top-notch. The food very good. (though the oatmeal was outdone by Jimmy's).
We’be dined here twice now and each time the service, food and ambiance were first rate. We’ll definitely be back!
We had a wonderful time celebrating our 5th anniversary at The Landing last weekend; Great food, wonderful view and atmosphere and the staff went above and beyond to make sure that our experience was special. I can't say enough about it and highly recommend it to others.
We met out of state relatives here for lunch & to catch up. It was also good midway point between their meeting in Reno & where we live in Sacramento. It was a cold, rainy day & we were all very pleased to be seated in a cozy spot with small fireplace. Our relatives commented on what a good choice Jimmy’s was (I had made reservations & had never been there before).
Food was good but my husband was surprised that his choice of octopus was more like an appetizer than a meal. Would have been helpful if the server had pointed this out. A few ordered fish tacos but they said it was mostly cabbage & not much fish. My burger was hearty & delicious as well as sweet potato fries. We had a very relaxing & pleasant stay at Jimmy’s & great opportunity to catch up with loved ones without feeling rushed. In addition, bathroom was clean & nicely decorated. Really a lovely resort right next to the lake.
We really enjoyed our dinner at Jimmy's. The food was amazing. They have an excellent selection of small plates, as well as wine. The service was outstanding. We requested a table by the window and got to watch the beautiful sunset. It was fabulous!
Excellent food and great service
I had been to Jimmy’s "Beach" location months ago for a special event. This time I took my wife to the main restaurant for Mother's Day and the food and service were outstanding. Our server, Matt Gullery, was professional and knowledgeable on a variety of topics. However, it is what my wife and I learned as we were leaving, and a proof that it is indeed a small world. Matt was a close friend of young man who was killed in a skiing accident; that was the special event I had attended earlier. The mother of that young man and my wife went to college together forty years ago in Russia. “It is indeed a small world.”
Food was good, and server was friendly and genuine - but service detail was slightly off. Had to request Salt and pepper and ketchup. One of side orders was incorrect (asked for two eggs scrambled and received sunny side up).
Excellent service, delicious food. Would go again. Lots of choices. Bar / wine choices are great. Nice live music on Saturday night.
Everything was fabulous! Delicious food, wonderful customer service, & outstanding view of the lake at sunset. Fun live music.
Beautiful views, yummy food, service and great wine advice. Nice live music playing in the bar area.
Stunning meal - food was absolutely awesome. Ambience was superb.
Service was a bit slow, but everyone was cordial and professional.
Well Done Jimmy’s!!
We love Jimmy’s in Mammoth so we thought we’d give this sister restaurant a try. Unfortunately it does not compare and we left very disappointed. The menu was limited and the entrees very expensive. My husbands $60 steak was 30% fat and my equally expensive lamb chops were raw on the inside and over cooked to the point of chewiness on the outside. We asked for a chocolate soufflé at the start of dinner and it came out while we were eating our entrees. We asked the server to keep it in the kitchen until we were ready and when we asked for the dessert, we were told that our soufflé had been given to another patron and that now the restaurant was out. Throughout the whole meal the server did her best and apologized profusely as did the manager, but given the high cost of this meal, I can’t see us ever taking a chance on Jimmy’s again.
