Jason's Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
The menu had excellent choices and the food was great! All the meals we ordered were prepared with just the right spices and sauces, and loved the salad choices as well. Very nice atmosphere and the service was excellent. Their timing was perfect and the waiter was very personable and efficient. Five stars!
I was really excited to try Jason's. Our reservation was right on time and we got seated promptly. The hostess knew it was my husbands birthday per the note on Open Table and she mentioned it when I checked in. Food was just okay. Appetizers were good although the sauces were kinda boring for Healthy Fries. Calamari sauce tasted like ketchup. Our server forgot our salad so that was disappointing. My meal wasn't that fresh either. I got the Cajun Pasta and I felt like the tomatoes and jalapeños were canned. Flavored lacked. The real bummer came at the end - we ordered dessert and coffee, but no happy birthday or anything mentioning my husbands birthday when dessert came.
Jason's is consistently excellent, with creative and delicious cuisine. Monday, we did the lobster special (which is only on Monday). It is a three course meal, starting with soup or salad, then a truly tasty and delicious 2 pound lobster, and lastly the Profiterole dessert.
I've never had a fresher or more tasty lobster meal, and the size and number of courses is a bargain considering what a nice meal this was.
I go to Jason's a lot; it is my favorite restaurant in Marin!
Jason's is usually fairly easy to get in to without a reservation. They have an outdoor dining area which is very nice in the summer. It is partially protected by plastic screens.
Jason's has quite a selection of appealing salads. I particularly enjoy the blackened salmon caesar salad. An entree that I particularly enjoy is the Chilean sea bass, though it isn't always listed on the menu.
The service is usually good, but on the day we were there it was very slow. Our waiter seemed more interested in entertaining some of the tables than checking on them. For this reason I marked down the service. Hopefully this doesn't become the norm.
I have found Jason's to be a consistently good restaurant except when it comes to lobster.
It must take a seafood restaurant to know how to cook and prepare it well.
The lobster is cleaned for the customer and in the process, the meat is overcooked, and
they remove the roe and surrounding area. Some of the good parts are lost in the preparation.
In my opinion, this is the only area where Jason's falls short..........
Delicious dinner for six with out of town family. Everyone was satisfied and the noise level was quiet enough for free conversations. Seated promptly and the waiter was efficient and friendly.
Jason's is our go to place when visitors or family come into town.
