Jake's was excellent, as usual. I scheduled a business meeting at 11:30 and we got a beach front table. The business meeting went well, and the food was delicious. We both ordered the fresh fish specials, and the location was exceptional. The wait staff as well as the front desk were very professional and made it a great experience. Thanks very much!

Disappointed with the menu and service. Our waiter would disappear and others would fill in for him. The menu was just standard fare and not very interesting and the food was only fair. Of course the ocean view was spectacular.

We had invited a family of four guests from Coronado and we drove up from the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club it was hard to tell we were even on the ocean because our table was up top level without any view. We were embarrassed that they had driven so far, never been to this place, and could not experience the phenomenal view. We thought our request was clearly stated on open table. Jakes has done this to us in the past (last year they tried to put us in a back room) and we are disappointed in their disregard for customers from out of town. We have good friends who live in Del Mar and know the difference in reception and table placement when we are with them l.

Never have had a bad meal here. Sunsets are amazing and is romantic at this time. Staff is amazing and restaurant is very beach casual. Mai Tai’s are amazing.

Booked via Opentable for our anniversary. Asked for, and received, a wonderful window seat overlooking the beach during sunset. The view was gorgeous, and the food was excellent. So was the service. We've been coming here for decades, and it never fails to impress. Would recommend to anyone from out of town looking for somewhere special, but not formal.

An incredibly beautiful place with gorgeous views. Staff went out of their way to be helpful. Food was upscale well -seasoned and delicious. I had a fish Caesar salad with dragon fruit dressing. That was really a showstopper. Our server was a little spacey, but we had a great time at it is, as it has been a fantastic space.

Love Jake's. Love all the T S restaurants especially in the Hawaiian Islands. I live in San Diego. Jake's is our go to in Del Mar for any occasions. Always accommodating. Great food, great service and awesome view. Peanut butter torte is a must!

Great atmosphere/view right on the beach! Food was delicious and service great. Very reasonable prices for a beach resturant, we would definately come back. Only drawback is there is very limited parking so you will need to valet park at the resturant for 7 plus tip.

Absolutely stunning view. The service was wonderful and the food was amazing. We ordered the sambal bbq sauce ribs - prosciutto wrapped prawns and fish tacos. Everything was fresh- hot- and cooked to perfection. View was incredible ad I am a sucker for a good kinosa and amazing views!!! We will definitely be back! Must try!!!

Cannot beat the view. Great shot of the beach and the Pacific Ocean. The windows open up if you want some air. Ambiance was nice and it was never very loud. I enjoyed the fish tacos but I thought it needed a bit more seasoning. Fish was fresh and the portion quite large. Food was good, not great. The ahi Benedict was tasty and hit the spot. Ahi had the right amount of sear, and overall, tasted good. Valet was a reasonable $7 although there was adequate parking on the street and the lot across the street. I wish I would add a half star more if it were available. It was really a pleasant lunch.

First time going to Jakes! We are from out of town and our hotel recommended this for dinner. I made reservations 2 hours before with no problem on a Friday night. The service was extraordinarily great! In fact, I can’t remember when servers were so friendly, helpful and with great recommendations. Food was excellent. I got the mole shrimp. It was fantastic and not too sweet. My wife got the steak with lobster cake butter. This was also fantastic. Overall I highly recommend it.

Went to Jake’s for my birthday to have lobster tails. They were the best! My son and husband had steak which they both said was delicious. Nice finish with the complimentary Hula Pie! My favorite part was the excellent table with an ocean view. Love the ambience.

Outstanding evening. Our server, Shance, was very attentive and he had a winning personality. Pear, walnut salad was excellent as were the prawns, calamari and vegan curry bowl. Can’t go wrong the Mai Tai’s either!

It was an unusual cold, rainy and windy day there. Yet management insisted the doors be left open. Many diners ate with their coats on. Someone in our party had to retrieve a sweater from their car. Quite an uncomfortable temperature.

Do not park in the city lot across the street! Valet parking is much more economical. We ordered the prosciutto wrapped prawns for an appetizer, my husband had seafood pot, & I ordered the scallops. We loved everything! Of course we shared Hula Pie (ask for a shot of Bailey's over it) & it is always decadent!! Great evening & a spectacular sunset!

The waiter messed up our order twice! There also were pieces of meat in my scallops dish. There was a lipstick print on the glass of water. The portions of food are very small. I guess only a stunning view of the ocean outweighs the drawbacks of everything else
