   Server was excellent, food was good but I would have preferred black beans with the huevos rancheros. It was very noisy and hard to hear my companion at times.

   My son and I decided to spurge on a seaside meal at Jakes having heard about it for many years. But the food was really subpar despite the expensive price tag. I ordered the seafood pot, a chiappino ike dish with lobster and mussels. But the taste was decidedly bland, I almost asked for salt at one point. It was flavorless and the seafood was quite over cooked, rubbery. My son have the filet and lobster tail and seafood chowder. His chowder was not tasty, small seafood and bland, very thick. His meat and seafood also were a bit over cooked. Nothing was remarkable in flavor or service. The view was beautiful right on the ocean at night. But for the price, a better meal followed by a walk on the beach would have been a much better choice

   The appetizers and mains were excellent. The service was friendly, and the view was awesome. Keep in mind this always a noisy restaurant, not good for babies, small children, intimate dates, or hard of hearing elders! We did not budget enough time to find street parking on this visit, so paying for the exorbitant parking across the street was the only downside. We wouldn't mind using the valet, but those cars were already quadruple parked.

   Jakes was terrific. Their food was excellent and prepared perfectly. We started with salads that were the best tasting salads we have had in a while. I had the filet (7 oz) which was tender and cooked medium as requested. I don't know why they put some type of gravy on top of the steak since it didn't need anything extra. Asparagus was really good (I normally don't like it but this was an exception). Desert was the Hula Pie (perhaps a million calories?). It was the perfect was to end the meal. The service was very good and our waiter was very friendly. We had a table facing the ocean and the water is very close. What a terrific view!!

   Excellent service and very fresh fish! My request for a window table was honored. A lively atmosphere but an extremely loud table of 4 adjacent to us made it hard to hear one another. The waiter’s recommendations and attentiveness was much appreciated. We will gladly come again.

   Always a pleasure to eat at one of the Jake’s, Dukes, Hula Grill properties. We had a fabulous Mother’s Day Brunch. Beautiful ocean view with impeccable service and high quality dishes. Loved our table and the lobster quiche was outstanding, had a nice quantity of lobster. No complaints, only accolades. A 10!

   Chase was very attentive and a great server. The guava daiquiri was my favorite, though. Is there any chance I could duplicate the record at home? Thank you!

    Great service and it was great to celebrate my mom’s birthday! They were wonderful there and the view was great!
