My favorite restaurant in Del Mar. The view is fantastic and the food and service are always great. We started with calamari and the ribs as appetizers. Both excellent, calamari was tender and the orange sauce with it was tasty. Th ribs were tender. The meat fell off the bone. I had the sesame crusted salmon with a delicious sauce, definitely recommend. My husband does not eat fish so he had the burger and said it was very good. Our friends had the seared ahi also great. The only disappointment was the special, I am trying to remember what exactly it was, some white fish with sesame seeds. He did not enjoy it, it was dry and not tasty. For desert we shared the peanut butter cake, I did not care for the saltiness of it. My husband had strawberry sherbet (supposedly from Gelato 101) that was fantastic. Our cappuccino definitely needed improvement, they were watery. This is still one of my fave restaurants whether for lunch or dinner. Highly recommend! 💕💕💕ssami

Oh, that hula pie!!!! But, prior to that, we really enjoyed the Caribbean Halibut. It had the perfect seasoning and flavor and was healthfully prepared. The cocktails were yummy, too.

Food and ambience was wonderful. We had a great ocean view table. Our group enjoyed the experience and will definitely be back.

Great birthday dinner with spectacular sunset view over the pacific. Food and wine excellent. Todd, our Server, was charismatic and attentive. We enjoyed chatting with him and his fine service. The complimentary birthday dessert was a surprise and appreciated!

always great food and service. Valet parking is very convenient. Propping open windows makes it very uncomfortable.

First time with our daughter, son-in-law, and 11-month old grandson (we’ve been several times). Loved the calamari appetizer. Shared the strawberry/goat cheese salad, and it was awesome. Three of us had the halibut special, which rocked. Our son-in-law enjoyed his ahi entree. Don’t miss the Brussels sprouts with shishito peppers — they’re great. And our 11-month old grandson enjoyed the fish and chips (sans coating and his parents and grand parents ate the fries, which were great!). Our server, Shase, was attentive and did all he could to ensure a good experience for the five of us. Can’t wait to go back!

Celebrated our brother's wedding anniversary: lived here their whole lives and had never been to Jakes. They will be coming back: wine list was great, mai tai the best, calamari perfect, everyone's order was exactly as they expected and terrific. Then there is the ocean view, on site -parking and staff who smile and care. Our always go to place.
