Jake's Del Mar Ratings and Reviews
It was lovely to have a reserved table by the ocean waiting for us when we arrived. The servers were very attentive. The food was very good, but not ultra memorable, but we have high standards. The complimentary dessert for our anniversary was a nice touch.
Great place for a birthday celebration; we had a beautiful ocean view, server Ashley was very attentatve & my swordfish lunch was delicious. It was prepared perfectly & was so good! You must order the decadent Hula pie, macadamia nut ice cream with fudge sauce & more Mac nuts. I was very impressed with the food & cant wait to return.
We had dinner last weekend? And had a reservation for 6 people. It was about 35 minutes later that we were seated. It took forever to get the drinks and, even though our waiter was awesome & friendly, the food just wasn’t up too par. We have eaten at Jakes many times before, whenever in the Delane Mar area. The beach setting is beautiful, but not in a hurry to return there any time soon.
We eat there often this was our first time for lunch. Service was just not good. We waited for everything even had to ask some one other than our server for water. Also got part of our order wrong so had to wait for that part again. They did comp us the dessert which was nice.
Jake's does not disappoint!
The sunset was so spectacular my social media followers did not believe there were no filters used. Service was friendly and efficient, and all of our dinner options were cooked to perfection. I highly recommend the seafood pot and the steak, as well as the Mahi Mahi (which was a nightly feature) based on our table's feedback.
Absolutely love this place, been going here for decades since discovering it on the first New Year’s Day/Sunday brunch with my now husband of 30 years. Took family here as they grew, celebrated special occasions and brought out-of-town visitors here. Jake’s never disappoints.
Brought our New England relatives because we have had amazing experiences in the past. Sadly, my husband's and my food was very, very overcooked. Received a replacement 'to go' because our guests had finished their meals.
Restaurant was not very busy but the staff were actually running around to do 'what'?
Server was exceptionally nice but the overall event was not at all what I wanted my family to experience.
I met some friends that I had not seen in years. We enjoyed the ocean view and the great food. I had the chowder and pear salad, which was outstanding. Would suggest you order dressi g to the side. We we t on Halloween and the wait staff dressed up, which was hilarious. Our wait person was attentive and informative. Overall definitely a positive experience.
