Dans le passé, Josef Sheekey faisait les marchés avec son stand de fruits de mer avant d'ouvrir un bar à huîtres sur St Martin's Court en 1896. Le restaurant a été rénové en 1998 pour renouer avec son glorieux passé, ses quatre chambres communicantes décorées avec des portraits originaux d'acteurs du 20ème siècle qui reflètent son rôle central dans le monde du théâtre. Acteurs comme spectateurs affluent ici pour les fruits de mer d'une fraîcheur immaculée et parfaitement préparés.

Regular visitor have been coming for a considerable number of years, always have the grilled Dover sole off the bone, my wife a half lobster. This is the best fish restaurant, never disappointed, also enjoyed a nice table. Always good, thoroughly recommend a visit.

Although the food was lovely, we had 6 oysters, 2 mains, 2 sides , 1 carafe of wine and 1 bottle of water The bill came to £245 which is heavy The service was very good, I was with my old mother and when shown to the loo ( which are down stairs ) a waiter told us to stay upstairs and was pointed to a loo near the bar And as said the food was very good

Service was exceptional in all respects. Reception and wait staff were quite attuned to our time constraints due to our forthcoming theatre attendance. Only disappointment was the quality of the prawns in the J. Sheekey.

I've enjoyed dining at J Sheekey for years but recently something's changed - food is still good but the service has lost its lustre.

The Service was the wirst that I have ever known at Sheekeys. I was left waiting & having to ask for everything. No one was refilling the wine or water. I had to get attention from the waiters every time. Side orders didn’t come with mains. The girls were working hard but the men were trying to avoid doing much

Excellent meal Risotto with artichokes and asparagus was delicious. Prices are high but a nice treat. Service was good with an attentive waitress. In and out within an hour
