Seared, caramelized salmon served atop forbidden black rice with sautéed leeks & spinach, finished with a pear ginger beurre blanc
Sherry, crème fraiche
Greek Salmon Salad
Kalamata olives, red onion, tomato, cucumber & feta cheese with greek dressing, haricots verts and salmon filet over mixed greens
Food was excellent - and the waiter was personable and friendly. Loved the elderflower champagne martini.
Excellent food & service. One of my favorite restaurants.
Extremely disappointing. I ordered the salmon. It came promised to be caramelized with a mango salsa topping, broccoli and coconut rice. The broccoli was simply steamed, no flavor or seasoning… come on J Lui chefs…you can do better than that! The salmon was undercooked , no caramelization and little mango salsa. The rice looked like a cafeteria lady scooped it on the plate. It was overall a pretty bland dish and hardly worth the $29 they charge for it.
My husband got the pasta Diablo and it barely had any sausage or shrimp in it. Restaurants have got yo understand that if you are going to charge more for your meal, you can’t continue to cut back on the food quantity or quality or people will not return.
The service was beyond slow and the restaurant was 1/2 empty. It took them 45 minutes to bring our entrees.
We were extremely disappointed. Don’t know if I will go back
Is the food here his fantastic! Beautiful presentation too
Love the tuna poke bowl. Service was awesome! Only negative is the street noise when sitting on the lovely covered patio.
Had a great birthday dinner for my mom there! A little pricey but the service was excellent and we were even greeted at the end by who I believe to be the owner. He even took the time to get to know us and what we were celebrating and chat with my family for a bit!
Great service lovely outdoor seating
Every time I’ve eaten here it has been decidedly, “ok”. Neither good nor bad, it’s very much a place that’s consistently whelming.
I have never been disappointed dining at J Liu and am looking forward to my next visit.
Best restaurant in Dublin! Andre is the best server.
Had one of our best dining experiences at J.Liu today. First time immunosuppressed mamma and family intended on sitting on the patio but with the wind and little bit of rain that picked up, our server didn’t think twice about offering to set a table for us in the private dinning room. We were so very appreciative of this kind gesture to make us feel safe and the food was outstanding!
First time diner. Overall good place to eat - American and asain choices which we enjoyed the various choices. The grilled avacado is really tasty appetizer. Great service and nice family atmosphere. 10 seat or so bar area with a few high top tables.
Great avocado app!!! Enjoyable dinner, sat outside and enjoyed the retail wine prices
Great seat on the patio
Great food. Excellent service. Very enjoyable evening out.
Probably one of the worst meals we've ever had in a restaurant! We had the sesame chicken and it was hard, dried out, and you felt like a cow chewing its cud. We had to ask for menus since they were not given to us upon being seated, the place reeked of Lestoil when you walk through the front door, not to mention the awful looking carpet in the entrance. We wound up being waited on by 2 different waiters since the initial one was completely inattentive. Food wasn't hot, and for a special occasion, and they were not even busy with PLENTY of open tables, this just was a huge failure. Waited 20 minutes before the check was brought to us and we about walked out. With all the new restaurants going in in Dublin, you would think they would be on top of their game to make sure they provide good competition to those new restaurants. Not so - this is an extremely apathetic restaurants towards its customers. We won't be back.
Great service and good food. For some reason it smelled musty. I am hoping this is a 'one off' as I have eaten here in the past and not had that experience.
Walked in was seated by the hostess. Noticed lots of empty tables . Seemed odd for Saturday night at 6pm. Paper table clothes on the tables. Waiter came over and we ordered some wine. Wine was good. Next we ordered a chopped salad. This was disappointing in appearance and taste. The entrees were Salmon and a ribeye. The fish and meat were ok. But the broccoli was raw. Rice was so so. French frites with the steak was greasy and tasteless.. presentation was lacking on both meals. Bottom line way too much money for the caliber of food we received. Wait staff was excellent. That being said that will be our last trip to J Liu...Not worth it in anyway. J Liu needs to step up their game big time.....
Great service from Andre, a wonderful meal. Good wine selection.
Always great food and plenty of it. Service on the patio was great again. Being close to a road it can be a little noisy but not so much as to ruin conversation. This place is consistently great.
Good was wonderful. Service was very good. They refilled water glasses which is important to me. Great experience.
We are there often and each time never disappointed! Delicious food, attentive service and great vibe.
Our server was great and the food was delicious! Will definitely be returning in the future.
First time. Would definitely return, especially when the weather opens up! The patio looks nice!
J. Liu is one of favorite go to restaurants because it has a wide variety of offerings in all categories and the employees are best of class. You will not go wrong by patronizing this establishment.
Had Jason's spicy chicken, blackened tuna, chicken parm, lettuce wraps, spring rolls, and crab Rangoon, and it was all amazing. We were celebrating 3 birthdays and the service was fantastic, and we received 3 excellent deserts for free.
We sat at our outside table for 18 minutes before anyone even came over to greet us. Finally when we did get a server I asked her why no one came to greet us and she said *I just got on “. So, no one could come over and bring us waters , get drinks started , or let us know someone wound be with us before she started was unacceptable!
The hubs had the fried rice with chicken and shrimp, and I had a salad , unfortunately I thought it was in poor restaurant taste to put iceberg lettuce only with a few measly pieces of chicken and charge $14 is a disgrace. I could have done better at home. Only good note was the appetizer was good. ( pot stickers )the drinks were ok. The server was decent. In all it was on the low end side of average for me . They could have done better.
Atmosphere here is very nice. Servers & staff very courteous. Sat right down at a booth. The sushi and fried rice were great but watch out for the burger as it comes with some weird terrible tasting cheese on it, all at the table tasted it and agreed it must be an acquired taste to like it. Loved the shrimp appetizer also. Definitely would go back!
Great service, awesome experience. We sat outside so didn’t like the noise of the muscle cars or the occasional ambulance driving by, but all in all a great experience. Will definitely return for more great food and service.
The Filet Mignon was excellent. The service was just right. The place was full, but it was Mother's Day.
Place looks like it’s going down hill. Not very busy on Mother’s Day. Limited menu options and then $10 for one draft beer. Pretty steep for a place like this. Did not bother to stay for food. Lucky enough to find an opening at Tucci’s next door, which was awesome.
Food was only average. Sauces heavy handed and dull; presentation common; nothing screamed “fine cuisine” except the pricing. Looks more like a diner inside. Disappointing overall.
Nice restaurant, good food selection and preparation, reasonable prices and the wait staff were very knowledgeable and accommodating. It was years since my last visit, I won't let it go that long before my next visit.
Overpriced for bland, cold food.
Two of our meals were returned for being nasty and cold. Our bill was almost $100 and the waiter did not adjust for the two meals that were sent back. The lights kept flickering the entire duration of our time there. And I had a reservation, and we still had to wait 15 min to be seated. I will NEVER and I mean NEVER go back to this place again!!!!!!!!
Mother’s Day and 4 birthdays
Fabulous! Make your reservation NOW! You won’t regret it!
One of the first times we’ve been put to eat since the pandemic.
Do not like the fact that happy hour prices and specials are only available in the bar! Why is that? The bar was packed, definitely not six feet apart! No COVID restrictions there so would not have chosen to sit in there.
Attentive service, many options on the menu, hard to pick just one.
Louder than expected, server very task oriented not overly "friendly" but got the job done with no mistakes.
