About Ivan Ramen
Ivan Ramen "More then Just Ramen!"
Ivan Ramen imagines the Classic NY diner as seen through the Japanese lens. The food is incredible, the service outstanding, the menu is uniquely Ivan Orkin. Ivan Ramen celebrates Ivan’s creativity through the lens of his life journey. His effortless blending of: his New York roots, his classic French training, and his deep understanding of Japan, color the menu and the restaurant. Ramen here is clearly a must, but you should not miss out on the amazing array of other dishes, which are perfect for sharing while you enjoy a well selected sake. Casual, comfortable and quirky with splashes of art inspired by pop culture and movies, Ivan Ramen is simply a fun restaurant.

Ivan Ramen Ratings and Reviews
Sitting here paying the bill and couldn’t contain myself from writing a review. Staff is very knowledgeable and maintain great energy, as a server myself I know how repetitive it can get. My server Marvin walked us through the menu and I still couldn’t keep my eyes off of the triple pork triple garlic, while not a soup it was so delicious. Still perfectly coated in a tonkatsu broth. Pork buns were great. And the miso roasted cauliflower had nice heat but a little too rich for me personally. Everything was great despite a server accidentally spilling ramen on my fiancées brand new jacket 😩 but besides that the experience was great. Thank you Ivan ramen I will be back.
I'm a HUGE Ramen fan, and I was SO excited to come here after watching Ivan's episode on Netflix's Chef's Table. I happened to be celebrating a big personal milestone (and Valentine's Day was coming up) so I said to my husband, "let's go to Ivan Ramen to celebrate"... and boy did they deliver the way I hoped they would! I had the Chicken Paitan (Ivan's specialty, our server, Martin, explained) and it was the BEST bowl of Ramen I ever had. I'm not exaggerating. My husband tried it and wished he had ordered it as well. He got the Spicy Red Chili Ramen and thoroughly enjoyed his as well, but admitted it was quite spicy and while it was still delicious, mine was just perfection. We also had the Japanese Chicken and the Pork Buns... also amazing. We actually over-ate, but we couldn't help ourselves! Oh! Also, Martin was not only friendly and attentive, but he was very knowledgeable of the beer menu and suggested a superb bottle of brew that I definitely plan to track down and order to keep in stock at home. The whole experience was just awesome and exceeded my expectations... which were already extremely high.
We visited on a Monday lunchtime just as the restaurant was opening. The staff were really friendly, knowledgeable, polite and attentive. As soon as we sat down the place started filling up - you could really see how popular it was! The food was absolutely delicious, especially the chicken wings and cauliflower starters. The bowls of ramen were great too - really great depth of flavor. Overall a really memorable meal for us, simple, delicious - and good value. We even bought the t-shirt!
Amazing food and phenomenal service. Great beer selections that are authentically Ivan's. A complete mouthgasm. We can't wait to go there again. We had reservations but the wait wouldn't have been long for a Sunday evening but we suggest reservations anyway so you can sit right down and enjoy your meal.
The food was amazing. The chicken ramen is unreal and I can't recommend it enough. They only had a beer list so we had to ask about wine or any other drinks Turns out there were only two wine options in the end, so if you don't like the options and you don't drink beer then you're not having a drink with dinner. Our service was also..strange. We were rushed through ordering and then some of our plates were taken away while we were still eating appetizers. It felt like he was trying to get us out of there quickly.
Never had Ramen before and might just be hooked now! Decor was right up my alley (I'm a nerd) my date loved it as well and it was a great way to start our night. Server was helpful and accommodating to my lack of Ramen knowledge. Would have liked a table instead of the bar for date purposes but that's just luck of the draw. Will 100% be back and recommend to friends.
Our first stop for dinner in NYC after seeing Chefs Table and it did not disappoint! The steamed pork buns are so delicious - we ordered more after the first round was devoured. There were four of us and we all had a different ramen - all excellent. Recommend adding a roasted tomato to the Classic Shio. The service was top notch - really friendly and helpful. Will definitely return!
The staff was very pleasant. Having heard about it from a friend, I went to the website to see what the place was about since the name was not fully Japanese. The ramen definitely maintains authenticity but also has it’s own unique interpretation. Good job on originality to the creator, Ivan.
We went to this restaurant because we had seen it in Netflix's Chef's Table series of documentaries, and were curious to eat at an affordable restaurant that was classified among the Top 50 restaurants in the WORLD. The food was really good, but despite the fact that the restaurant depicts itself as being "accessible", it cruelly lacked decorum. The place is (too) ordinary, the staff, too friendly, and the overall ambiance, surprisingly laid-back and relaxed for that kind of place. If you just go there to eat a great soup, then you won't be disappointed. But if you're looking for an experience, Ivan Ramen is not the place to go...
Ivan Ramen never disappoints. This is our favorite restaurant, hands down. I can't go more than a month without my spicy red chili ramen. We love the brussels sprouts and the Japanese fried chicken as well. We even took our vegan friend here for dinner and he was thrilled to be able to eat ramen! 10 out of 10, would recommend.
Beennon a huge ramen kick last few years and after getting hooked on chefs table and kind of a chef, it’s only natural to visit Ivan Ramen while in NYC. Absolutely amazing place to grab a thoughtful bowl of noodles. Had the pork buns, the spicy ramen and paitan. Highly recommend.
Great job Ivan.
