If you want to catch the sunset in Kona, there are plenty of places to park your okole, and Island Lava Java is a great option. The three of us enjoyed our meal and the service. Our party ordered the guava-glazed ribs, the calamari, and the beet salad with the fresh catch (ono on this night). All were prepared well and quite good. Those with leftovers opted to take them home - a sure sign for us that it was good. If you are in Kona, this is a solid choice. Separate note: we also stopped in for breakfast and we found that to be ono as well.🤙🏻

Our experience was wonderful! My macadamia crusted ono was delicious, my husband's margarita pizza was wonderful, our server was great, and the view of the sunset on the ocean was stunning.

If I could give them zero stars, I would. We had a reservation for 15 for Saturday night to celebrate our wedding. We arrived about 15 minutes early to check in and were informed they were closed. When we showed them the reservation confirmation email, and I was very obviously in my wedding dress, they changed their story to say the kitchen was too backed up and it was taking over an hour to get tickets out. There was no apology, nothing. Thankfully KAI went out of their way to arrange a table for us and the food/drinks/service was amazing there! Highly recommend them over this restaurant.

We stopped by here for a late lunch after an 11 hr flight from the mainland. So glad we did! This place hit the mark with all of our family- including three teenage boys who each have a variety of tastes for food. Impressed with the low key atmosphere and beautiful views. Def recommend 🤙
