Little Italy was built by the fishing industry. Ironside attempts to continue that narrative. It's our contemporary interpretation of the classic fish house and oyster bar. Located in a historic auction house on India St we did a full comprehensive restoration of the building, with three open-air culinary hubs featuring an expansive raw bar, chefs table, and bakery. We tried to be mindful of the past while looking towards the future. Groups of 6 or more will be charged an automatic 20% gratuity. A 4% surcharge will be added to all guest checks. For group reservations of 7 guests or more, please contact the restaurant at 619-269-3033 or via email to info@ironsidefishandoyster.com.

We are now offering Happy Hour MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY FROM 3:00PM - 5:00PM.

Executive chef: Moira Hatfield

From the OpenTable editors: Portholes, anchor hooks, and an enormous octopus sculpture—the nautical energy is strong at this seafood giant.     Food as always was great. Kitchen service was not. Sides came early, we waited for the mains then just ate the sides when we gave up. Dessert that simply needed to be pulled out of the fridge until we asked after a FOREVER wait miraculously appeared in a minute

    A local San Diegan told us that Ironside has the best seafood in the city, so we went there on our visit. He was right! Really fun ambience. It is noisy, so if you are looking for a quiet conversation, go somewhere else. Awesome bar! Seafood could not be more fresh.

    The place and hospitality were great! The food not so much unfortunately. The chef’s choice oysters were beyond salty, needed to pretty much drown them with garnishes. The chowder fries were delicious! The fried fish tacos were unfortunately really bland.

    First time coming here, even though we live in San Diego; just don't get out of our little bubble much. Some items seemed a little expensive, but isn't everything these days. Will definitely be back and especially for happy hour for oysters.! Great place and ambience.

    Service was great. Nice clean vibes. No wait times. The bathroom sinks were a pain. Having to stick your hands in this little window.. just odd, but they were clean. We had the Biggie plate, but only the sweet potatoes and jalapeno granita stood out! The oysters were fresh, but the shucker needs some help. Most of the bellies were popped open from the knife. Share ceviches were small, and bagged tostadas. Meh. A phenomenal birthday dessert, and the hospitality delivered for a celebration is worth of a mention. Even the transition between servers during transition was smooth. Will recommend, but probably won’t return. Although maybe just for the fish and chips. The table next to us ordered that, and it looked delicious. Idk though!

    We came to attend the Happy Hour, there is no separat menu anymore, confusing. No more Banama pudding…. This was not as Happy as last time….
