Tucked away on a small quiet pedestrian lane parallel to Charlotte Street, in the lively Fitzrovia, in a rustic still elegant environment where a red Berkel meat slicer and dangling charcuterie give clear hints to the provenance.
Food tasted like it came out of a plastic container. Sorry
I don't write a lot of reviews but for this restaurant I felt like I had to write one, to save at least a few people's money, time, and appetite...
We arrived there and the service was not bad, the waiter explained the menu and told us about the products they're using and how they're the best from Italy...
What we ordered :
Homemade Focaccia & Bread £2.20... Soft slices of bread and dried up this slices of focaccia tasted like cardboard
MEAT & CHEESE Platter £14... not extraordinary Buffalo mozzarella, not the best Parmesan pieces I've ever tried and some nice Parma Ham, and regular Mortadella
Then we ordered some home made Pasta, we were really looking forward to it, sounded great on the menu...but it was just on the menu unfortunately
LASAGNE £9.50... Thick pasta, not enough Ragu, just plain insipid lasagna, the worst I've tried in my life
TORTELLI D'ERBETTA (veg) £10.50... This was not the best Ravioli but not the worst either, I liked the filling but way too much Pasta around and way undercooked
ANOLINI IN BRODO £10.50... This dish sounded great, a soup when you're eating outside with cool temperatures but nope, super thick, uncooked Ravioli with 0 filling, swimming in a stock, which tasted like just boiled water, olive oil and raw pasta
RED & GREEN SALAD £9... I asked for a green salad to go with my lasagna, they brought me a bowl of iceberg lettuce straight from the bag, 4 cherry tomatoes cut in half, a few olives and some parmesan shavings with a tasteless dressing... for 9 pounds...
The Lambrusco was good, the cappuccino too, the bill a bit bitter...
I won't talk about the cup of hot water we ask to keep us warm and the waiter brought a cup of slightly yellow water with coffee residues floating apologising and saying it's because it's coming from the coffee machine...
Overall, very disappointed, service ok, food overpriced for a very bad quality, reviews were surprisingly good, wondering if people's tastebuds were still working from home...
Quite a genuine place. The hand made pasta is good.
Lovely meal, great communication from the staff about our booking. We would not hesitate to return!
Great pastas, meats, and tiramisu. Music was a little off putting for a relaxed Sunday meal- electronic dance music? Overall a nice experience
Meat and cheese platter starters were served on plastic film on top of a wooden chopping board so looked like it had come from supermarket - quite unappetising to look at.
Lovely calm and cozy place for a romantic or intimate diner
While the food was good, we found the service not very professional, talking loudly among themselves in Italian (which we happen to speak as well). I could hear them more than our own conversation.
Great lunch! Delicious! One of the best italian meal in town!
Excellent meat & Cheese platter, pasta and best tiramisu ever!
We loved the food! We have lived in Parma for a year and my fiance is italian, so we had high expectatives and the food and service completely impressed us! The affettati were amazing and all main dishes were really good. Also our waitress was really friendly and nice.
Lovely place where we will surely come back! Grazie!
Amazing little restaurant, very nice staff and super-tasty, wonderfully authentic food. Portions could be slightly more generous.
It’s one of our favourite places for date night - the food is always great.
It was amazing! I am Italian myself and it’s not easy to find an authentic Italian restaurant no matter what they advertise. This was authentic Italian, with prime products and great service. We celebrated my friend’s Birthday there and we couldn’t have picked a better place. Thank you for the lovely evening
Reminded us of our stay in Parma a few years ago!
Good quick service. Delicious
Had a great time with a set menu for 8 of us. The staff were very accommodating and organised.
Excellent authentic food from Emilia Romagna, one of my favourite new finds in london
Tutto ottimo tranne che si era un po' ammassati come le pecore
Before we step foot in the restaurant the service was poor - I dealt with a very rude member of staff whilst attempting to book the restaurant. They claim that OpenTable allows you to book online even thought the restaurant is full, so there was an attempt from them to cancel the booking in the first place. You need to look into that.
Platter was decent as starter but quality of mains and dessert was poor.
Lovely independent restaurant with good service, food and drink. The only negative is that we were seated in the corner next to a large and very noisy party. This is definitely somewhere we'll be returning to.
Simple Italian, but taste and atmosphere was great. Best place with friends
Authentic food, great ingredients and charming service!
Heerlijk gegeten maar erg leeg restaurant
I like In Parma food, service and location are fantastic. I don't want to order always a full bottle, so the glass option is very welcome. However, I found the glass of wine that I ordered a bit too small, given the price. So here there is a margin to improve IMO
Super tasty food and very reasonably priced
Great food. Friendly service.
I booked this for a group for my birthday and we had the tasting menu. The food was very good but the portions were small. Service was graceless. I am sure that this would be very nice for a couple or 4 diners but it did not really work for a group - as the staff kept pointing out it is a very small restaurant.
I only gave this small interesting restaurant a 3 overall because of two reasons: 1. The waiter was young and inexperienced.. hard to communicate with also. 2. I asked for a slight adjustment to my meal. Less pasta but more sauce and they made me feel like a Martian. Wanted to charge more. I said fine. Still didn’t do as I requested. It’s kind of a gimmick place overall. Wine served out of bowl. Etc. Table and chairs very uncomfortable
My favorite Italian restaurant in London ! In Parma has a romantic, intimate, welcoming atmosphere. Their pasta is the best in London, anything on the menu will please you beyond expectations ! Their red wine (Primitivo) is delicious too. And the staff is friendly and kind, something I value very much in restaurants.
I highly recommend this restaurant !!!
Nice food, nice place. Slightly limited menu. Happy to go back there again
I have nothing to fault. The food was fantastic the service was great. Overall fantastic definitely will be back
Lovely family feel restaurant. Great antipasti and home-made pasta. Really good service too! Would recommend!
Food was good, but not excellent. I think the starter with cheese and meat is highly overpriced and the lambrusco makes it rather cheap.
The main and the dessert were very nice.
Menu is a bit tricky for non meat eaters but there’s a lot of interesting traditional and local dishes. The pasta and salads are well done. It’s a bit cramped but once you’re relaxed into the place it’s a good place to sit and enjoy.
Interesting wine list - a genuinely good Lambrusco combining youthful nostalgia with a proper adult style. Would definitely revisit.
Great relaxed restaurant with reasonably priced food!
The quiet, intimate atmosphere was lovely, as was the service. The charcuterie and Lambrusco were delicious and great fun. Unfortunately however their signature dish, a meat-filled pasta in a light chicken broth, was disappointing. The extremely bland filling was over-processed, and the al dente pasta lacked flavour. Our evening was an enjoyable experience, but I would not recommend their pasta.
Authentic and responsibly sourced Tuscan food. Just like being in Italy. The Lambrusco in cups is an eccentricity that I havent met before!
We had a late dinner here on a Tuesday night. I thought the menu was a bit limited and the food average. My husband ordered lasagne which was nice but nothing special and I had a traditional ravioli-type dish that allegedly had a filling that had been cooked for 24 hours - it tasted nice but I'm not sure I would order it again.
Disappointing.. they offered a tasting menu for a group of people 16, whereby they bring out the food in groups, sounded good, but they couldn’t pull it off. They said they could seat our group, but it was very very cramped, they didn’t have enough staff on and ran out of glassware. Food wasn’t that great either, will not be going back.
Prosciutto platters and cheese platters were very nice, we were all disappointed by the lack of salt in the fresh made pasta. Polenta taste was nice but it wasn’t authentic italian polenta. We were 5 Italians at dinner.
