Il Terrazzo Carmine is located in historic Pioneer Square - nestled in an urban-renewed alley with entrances through the vintage lobby on First Avenue or through the delightful courtyard in the back. Since 1984, Carmine Smeraldo's classic Italian restaurant has been where the locals have chosen to return over and over again.     il Terrazzo always meets the high bar, every single time. The service is 5-star. Joe has been our server for over 15 years and he is impeccable in every step of service throughout the meal. Food quality is par excellence, atmosphere is a wonderful combo of old world and classy. A Seattle Gem for sure.

    The only issue was dinner took 1 hr 25 min from the time we ordered to placing it on the table. The waiter apologized and so did the manager. They offered desserts on the house.

    We came to celebrate a very special birthday and had reserved an outdoor table in advance. We understand delays happen, but after nearly an hour, we were seated inside with no apology. When we shared how meaningful the night was and why we wanted the outdoor seating reserved, the response felt dismissive and uncaring. As a diverse group, we couldn’t help but feel the service we received lacked the warmth and care we saw extended to others that evening. We had high hopes for the evening but left feeling hurt and unwelcome. If you're planning something special, you may want to confirm your details in advance, beyond the reservation plateform, and be prepared for limited flexibility from staff.

    We expected not to be rushed but our meal took 2.5 hours. We saw other tables get seated and finish their meal before we were served
