Il Palio was named after the race held each summer in Siena, Italy. Created with a passion, the restaurant has been exquisitely designed and beautifully finished with materials from all over the world. No stone was left unturned and time was not a factor in finding exactly what was required to make the "vision" a reality. The atmosphere created is one of quiet comfort in surroundings reminiscent of an Italian villa. The friendly and courteous staff, the outstanding food, and the efficient service all contribute to the ambiance felt by those who visit the restaurant. Il Palio's fine Tuscan cuisine is a pleasing combination of the highest-quality ingredients and the caring preparation by chefs who take pride in the dishes they present. Like the race in Siena, Il Palio is creating lasting impressions.

First of all it was one of my favorite elegant restaurants for many years. Today was different. Open table lists their safety precautions and they were not true. Wait staff does not wear a mask. Guest do not wear a mask when not eating. Every table was used. Separation of tables were as they have always been. I addressed this at the desk when I left and to my surprise Open table removed those items. Also their menu from open table shows lower prices than they charged me today.
Good was excellent. Wait staff was very good…prompt, courteous, friendly. It was a little noisy. I was surprised and disappointed that an upscale restaurant charged $2.00 extra for ice in a drink. I have never been charged for ice in a drink. When you’re charged $36 for an entree and $15 for a salad I think they can put ice in my drink without charging me for it
We have always LOVED Il Palio and will continue to return. Our food was delicious and our waiter Claudio was superb!
We always love eating at Il Palio...especially now when it is cooler outside they have huge heating lamps which made outside dining a dream...we had the best meal, went inside for after dinner drinks and dessert at the bar, and always love being there
We had great service and the food was excellent! Always a top spot for special occasions.
Fabulous place for a business casual lunch. Exceptional service and we never felt rushed. Phenomenal food with options for smaller portions so that we could sample a variety of offerings. We are looking forward to returning for dinner soon!
The service was excellent as well as the food and ambiance.. always a pleasure to eat there.
The luncheon menu is wonderful and economical. The portions are just the right size and include appetizer, main dish and dessert. The service is always outstanding and we never feel rushed. There is always ample time between dishes.
Attentive staff , beautiful evening outside and our meals were fantastico
Dinner was delicious service was excellent we will definitely be returning
The apps are generous portions! Soup and app and even leftovers. Still room for dessert. Excellent overall. Will be back.
Very good meal choices and well prepared. Try the plum martini and butternut squash soup!
First of all let me commend the owner of the restautant, he took great pics for us. Thank you sir!
Secondly, the reason for coming to this restaurant was for my GF birthday. I called on Monday to confirm and to make sure the table was decorated and that she will have surprise for dessert.
The table was not decorated! And the waiters seem clueless that i was coming there to celebrate.. Very disappointed!!!!!
Also with all that disappointment and the service that sucked the waiter expected a grand tip...(really?????) Like he was discussing with his coworker the amount that was tipped???? This guy need to understand that tipping is cultural and we didn't have to give him a cent if we did not wanted to!!! NO KNOWLEDGE OF HOSPITALITY! he should be working at a McDonald's sighhh!!!
There was also a table next to us, i couldn't even hear what the ppl that was sitting at my table was saying.
The only good thing abt this experience was that they have beautiful grass and outside looked amazing.
Excellent as always!
Excellent food and presentation. My only recommendation is the Martinis should always be stirred by default snd NOT shaken. The bar needs to be as good as the kitchen!!
Excelent service, great atmosphere. Food was delicious. Not as elaborated as I expected but beautifully served. I typically go to restaurants to try things I normally don’t cook at home. This restaurant has delicious food but not beyond anything one can’t cook home without spending too much prep time. Recommend for dates and old friends gatherings. I would recommend for everyday dining if not for prices.
Loved the updating of Italian classics for dinner at Il Palio.
Of course some, more successful than others.
but overall, very good,
Wonderful as always. The best Italian restaurant in CT
Excellent service, friendly staff, delicious food and the chef’s garden vegetables added a perfect touch too our our meals.
Overall good experience, seemed to be stressed on help. Waiter apologized to multiple tables saying kitchen is backed up snd offering free apps, etc. Personal feeling, since people are spending big bucks for a fancy dinner, do not overbook if you are short staffed as that should not be felt by the patrons. Staff was clearly working hard but experience was not what is should be for an upscale restaurant.
Great food ! Alfresco and wine list also very good.
Service was slow but we were in no hurry.
Overall a favorite restaurant that does not disappoint !
Reservation table on time. Good food, a little loud.
I took my sweetheart for a birthday dinner at il Palio. Afterwards she said it was the best meal she had ever had in a restaurant!
Do I need to write more?
Always live the experience!
Dining room is beautiful with thoughtfully spaced tabes. Service was competent and non intrusive. Menu appears to have been updated and offers plenty of creative picks. Drinks were done well. Prices are reasonable. One complaint: I decided to order a swordfish entre. Swordfish appeared to have been cut to appear large on the plate but was quite thin overall and thinner on one side. Chef had no shot to cook the whole portion evenly. Although they made a valiant effort, it was somewhat overcooked, more so on the thin part. I’d rather see a smaller diameter but thicker piece of the same weight to give the chef a fighting chance! It seemed very fresh though. Over all, we think it’s very nice place and will certainly be back.
A great place to catch up with a business associate who enjoys great food in a first class atmosphere. We were both impressed by the range of special dishes offered and menu items. While expensive by local standards, a special occasion makes this restaurant a must.
Pretty restaurant. Food was bland. Carbonara dishes were dry. We went to another restaurant for dessert. Didn’t want to waste the time on a special occasion since we knew the dinner was not great.
Our server was excellent and the building itself and the property were beautiful. The pictures gave off a more elegant vibe to it. Unfortunately those were the best parts of the dinner. The food was a little above average. We probably won’t be going back.
One of my favorite CT restaurant destinations!
The food and service always excellent. Great lunch experience as well.
Celebrated our anniversary at IlPalio. Dinner was very good. Chef accomodated my wife by grilling her calamari. I had a NY strip, whichnwas perfectly done. Best thing I had was a half order of the fettucine special. We will be back this year.
I ordered the special fettuccine and the seafood was cold. Flavor was also bland.
Portion size decreased drastically over the past couple of months. I noticed it from the appetizer, salad and entree.
Everything was perfect! Food outstanding, service excellent. Pay a bit more, but your rewarded with a dining experience! Try it.
Il Palio food and service never disappoint. Such a pleasure to have a meal there with friends. Thank you.
We have eaten there a couple of times but this time was not good the risotto was not good at all. The wait service disappeared after appetizers saw him pass our table several times but never checked to see if we needed anything. Just overall disappointed.
Excellent food and service. They make an excellent yellow watermelon bellini
Great experience! The food and service were wonderful!!
Lovely restaurant. Sat outdoors. Food was good. Had pasta and asparagus and the special artichoke chips. Wish there were more options for appetizers.
The special, muscles over linguini in a pesto sauce was outstanding. Best I ever had. The halibut was excellent as always. The service could not be better
Very friendly staff and
