Chef Michael... what can we say, we experienced another outstanding meal, so very glad we came yesterday evening.
note, the Chef specials (seafood pasta and salmon) were some of best flavor combinations and tastes we have enjoyed in quite a while.
there were good sized portions and the staff was very accommodating and friendly.
the meal was wonderful on multiple levels, we will definitely be returning soon.
Over the years we enjoyed this restaurant driving 45 minutes each way from home sometimes almost weekly. 1 year ago had a poor experience and just returned to see if it had improved. Compared to past years it has "fallen off a cliff" with tired much reduced menu and food that is OK but no longer exceptional. We will no longer be making the long trip.
We got the specials and they were great. Such a lovely local restaurant. You can taste the care that they put in their food. This was evident in their delightful desserts as well. Will definitely return.
I took my parents to IL Mito for dinner on a Tuesday night and we all loved it! Our waitress was fun & attentive, food was great, and so was the atmosphere! Thank you!
Always yummy food! Love the meatball appetizer. Drinks are tasty and service was fast.
Some food was really good and others just ok, the Tiramisu was old and most likely outdated, the server confirmed it, has a runny watery liquid and tasted sour. Not the experience we hoped for being our first time here and our anniversary. Our server was really good.
So disappointed!!! This used to be our favorite restaurant, and a staple for anniversary and birthday celebrations. We recommended it to everyone we knew and enjoyed sharing the dinning experience with guests traveling from out of town. Unfortunately, it is not the same. We ate here two months ago and we’re disappointed but figured it was an off night. Our experience last night was even worse. I ordered a burbon that was on the shelve behind the bar only to have a server snatch the bottle from the bartender, explaining to me that it was chef Feker’s reserved spirit for him and special guests only. Ok, I can understand. We then waited 45 minutes for a table even with a reservation. Again, ok if the food is worth it. Much to my disappointment, it was not. The menu is becoming tired and some of our favorite dishes lack the depth and flavor that we used to enjoy.
It feels like the expansion with catering and Zesti have done a disservice to the flagship restaurant. We are sorry to see it go. Thanks for the memories!
We are more disappointed for disappointing you. As to the Bourbon, I heard your communication with the bartender and when our Bar manager explained that is my private label Bourbon. I am so sorry that you heard otherwise. Stop by sometimes and we will pour you a glass on me. Have a great 2022.
I’d had a number of great experiences at Il Mito in the past, but the other night gets only a “meh” from me. The pork scallopini was tough & lacking flavor - saved only by the delicious pasta served with it. Service was slow & inattentive. I’ll go again based on the previous great experiences, but this one was a disappointment. Strike one
Food was great, drinks were excellent and bartender was great.
We have eaten here a number of times. It is always great. My wife had the duck this time and wanted to come back the next day to have again. The best she ever had. I had the special Shrimp/pasta/capers dish and boy was it great. Prices are very good especially for Milwaukee area. Will be back again and again.
Overall, the appetizers were the best part of the dinner. Everything was reasonably priced, which made the experience less painful. However, the entrees we ordered were borderline terrible. The shrimp risotto was bland and practically a soup. The shrimp fettuccini thankfully had good flavor but was overpowered by a copious amount of beans, which I found extremely unnecessary. Tiramisu was delicious, which was a good way to end an average dinner. Overall not too impressed and wouldn’t come back.
Another fantastic evening meal. Il Mito remains a monthly favorite for our weekly date nights. Maybe we should go twice a month. Too many great restaurants in the Milwaukee area.
Everything at El Mito was excellent and you could see the gourmet touches in everything from the salads to the Entrees! We were given a gift card over 4 years ago, and finally tried it before attending the Christmas Carol. My only regret is we waited so long to try this neighborhood Tosa gem of a restaurant.
Food and atmosphere top notch. Drinks were very pricey. Calamari app was outstanding. Salmon prepared perfectly.
Food and service great.
Place needs a little attention.
Looks a bit rundown
Food and service were good, but the energy was not the same as it’s been. My one complaint was that I ordered a chocolate martini and got an espresso one, even after the server double checked that I wanted chocolate. The cream also appeared to be curdling. I took a few sips and it just didn’t taste right. I adore this place and will always support it. Just a disappointing end to an otherwise nice meal.
Reliably excellent food and atmosphere! Highly recommend!
The food and waitstaff were very good. The hostess was hostile and rude and inattentive. She did not want to sear us when she noticed that we had a small child with us. This child was very well behaved. She did not give us our reserved table but rather put us at a very small bistro table which did not accomodate 4 diners. The waitstaff did their best to accomplish adequate service.
Fantastic from start to finish!! I will be back for sure!
We had an excellent dining experience the food was terrific the wine I would recommend the Chianti Ruffino Aziono great ambience. Our waiter Hector made the experience even better!
Overall a very good experience. Bolognese was outstanding as always and priced fairly. However, the bottle of Chianti we ordered was seriously overpriced.
Delicious and quiet Sunday eve dinner with friends. Our waitress was only on her third day on the job but was very accommodating and served us well.
Delicious Chicken Parmigiana and very good cocktails. Also great creme brulee for desert
Delicious food! Met up with friends and had a great time.
Great food and friendly service. Highly recommend.
Last visit to this restaurant was about 7-8 years ago. Returned last night. Service was good, food mediocre. My husband liked his better than I did. He had chicken parm. I had chicken carbanara and Caesar salad. Disappointed, was looking forward to it.
For a few precious moments, we were transported to Tuscany. We were in a quiet little village eating the local delicacies. We ordered several appetizers as our meal, each one came out at the perfect time, we paired our meal with a fantastic housemade old-fashioned and some smooth red wines. We were able to leave the world behind and enjoy each other's company for a pleasant evening. The Chef came out to answer questions and joke with his quests, such a wonderful experience. Bravo Chef Feker!
Great food informative service and clean atmosphere
Il Mito used to be our favorite restaurant (especially the old location down on Virginia Street). This was the first first to the Tosa location in about a year. We sat at the bar for a martini before dinner. We asked for our Martinis to be extra dry, but there was still too much Vermouth in them, and they were served barely chilled (not shaken enough, glass not chilled, etc)
Dinner was decent, but the linguini special I order was not special, only just ok. We also did not receive the drink straws we asked for, for our water.
Probably most annoying was that the food came out too quickly...our entrees arrived while we were still eating our salads. I expect that from a chain restaurant, not Il Mito.
Small complaints, but I expected more and we will think twice before returning.
Food was great! Would highly recommend. Need to be prepared to pay a little more, but overall it was definitely worth it. The chef came and said hi to us himself as well!
We eat at Il Mito quite often. Food is good and the restaraunt has covid19 precautions in place.
We were disappointed with the food - it’s just want up to previous dinning experiences
First time here and we were impressed. Great atmosphere and outstanding food. Started with the meatball and a caprese salad as an appetizer. They were nice enough to split the salad in two plates. Both items were excellent. My wife had the spaghetti Bologna’s and I did the mushroom tortellini. Both were great and the tortellini was amazing. Everything was fresh and hot. Minimal wine list but the house wines by the glass were excellent. Server was really friendly and attentive, but seemed to know very little about the menu or dishes. Considering staff shortages, I will take friendly and attentive anytime. She was very gracious about getting answers to our question. Prices were very reasonable considering the food and experience. Highly recommend.
Food is delicious. Have been there several times and never had a bad meal. A little pricey for the size of the meal but everything is these days. Beautiful setting for dates birthdays or just a get together.
Started out with a delicious cucumber martini. Wonderful Caesar salad presented on a chilled plate which makes a world of difference. The pumpkin ravioli and lasagne was delicious. Salmon special was perfectly prepared. Overall, a wonderful dinner and experience.
The outdoor dining area was not an option. Surprising given Covid. Large dining space but 3 sets of guests were seated within 4 feet of each other. Also surprising with Covid. We should have beef seared apart from each other. Plenty of room available. Service was ok. Food was good but not great.
Great gluten-free options! We love the food, service and the back patio!
Always love to come here! Friendly staff and delicious food priced well!
