il Calabrese Ristorante and Bar
phenomenal vegetarian gluten-free pizza! Seriously the BEST pizza ever and you couldn't tell it was healthy! I added the "beyond-meat" meatballs (vegetarian meatballs) to the pizza and it was over the top amazing! My friends got other dishes and theirs were amazing as well!
We had dinner here for our 20th Wedding Anniversary. The food and wine was great, and the wait staff were excellent. They made a real effort to insure that our celebration was special.
Very good selection of food and drinks. Attention to detail by the owner and chef is a nice touch. Very conveniently located for both business as well as casual dining. The lighter fare is also very good, fresh ingredients. The bread was fresh and hot with delicious condiments.
Excellent Food! I will definitely be coming back. I would recommend to anyone
Renovations are nearly completed. Luciano Salvadore, owner and chef was able to come out and greet us. A kiss on each cheek, the true Italian way! Buona Serata.
Complimentary Focaccia is always a great starter. We shared plates of Risotto with white asparagus, so creamy and delicious, the season doesn’t last long...get it while you can. Followed by Branzino con Spinaci E Granchio and Bistecca. Delightful dinner washed down with a bottle of 2014 Gaja Promis. Finishing the evening by traditional Tiramisu. A very nice way to spend Saturday evening! Buon Appetito!
We miss Luigi but still one of our favorite restaurants
Very special Southlake restaurant. Beautifully decorated and fabulous food and service.
Had the white fish on chard. Fish was under cooked and half raw and the chard tasted bad
Had a meal at il Calabrese on a Saturday Night, with a 7 pm reservation. Arrived and were seated immediately. My wife and I each had a Caesar Salad, then she had the Taglierini Pepati Con Gamberi and I the Rigatoni Con Pollo. All was very good. We will be returning again.
The food was exquisitely flavored, perfect coming from the kitchen. Our waitress was unobtrusive, but timely and attentive. This was a very romantic, finely presented experience. Even better now than the last time we were there.
We love il Calabrese for special occasions and an occasional treat. Food is excellent, terrific bar service and nice environment.
Quality of all meals was very good. Service was also very good.
The food was just outstanding, service was impeccable, perfect ambiance. Owner walks around and greats, got to use my rusty Italian on him, not a whole lot of real Italians in Texas, awesome time, a perfect evening out!!!! Would recommend you try this place, you will not be disappointed
One word EXCELLENT
Delicious food, good atmosphere, a bit noisy but overall was good.
Went there on Valentines day with an an 8:15 dinner reservation. After waiting an hour for our table, we then realized a set menu and set price for dinner after we were seated and ordered drinks. NO one told us it was a set menu/price. Every dish on this set menu (5 entree items) had cheese in it which I am allergic to. Such limited options. Unfortunately, I had to pay high price for a meal that I couldn't even eat. The other side items that I did eat were not very good. Food for wife was served cold and not good. Seemed like cafeteria style food with this set menu idea. Even the dessert that was brought out was lame. Server seemed stressed and over worked which probably contributed to the lack of a smile. I have eaten here before and thought the food and service was good. I highly recommend avoiding it on Valentines day.
Very nice cozy restaurant, great food
Always a great meal and great service.
Not a bad place. Food was good, not great. Ambiance was drab. Service was outstanding. I would go back for a regular meal but definitely not for any holiday or special occasion.
Food was excellent. I'll be back with a bigger party.
One of the best meals I’ve ever had with stellar service and ambience. The recent remodel of this restaurant is gorgeous. Highly recommend anyone that likes great food, atmosphere, and service to pay a visit soon!
Never felt so rushed at any restaurant ever! Prize fix menu was overpriced and appetizer was cold. Bad experience.
I guess I was expecting more traditional Italian food for our valentine's dinner, but that was not so. The management was awesome, the food was hit and miss. The appetizers were awesome, then the main course was not great. The menu had lots of fancy words that meant basic things. Atmosphere was nice but not over done. Each small table has a chair on one side, and a long couch which was kind of awkward to sit at during dinner. Overall it was just alright.
Not on Valentines Day, as the set menu was disappointing and there was no notice on the website or follow up phone call to confirm the reservation that it would be a set menu.
Very positive. Enjoyable dinner. Great atmosphere. Good food. Readable price.
Love the food ! Great service ! For sure we will return it.
Took the family there for our son’s 19th birthday and as always they did not disappoint! Have never had anything bad there! Food is always fresh and delicious, staff is always great and the ambiance is amazing! We will definitely be back once again!
The bar service was unfriendly. Our waiter for the evening was great. The restaurant was so loud as they allowed a large group of young boys to completely run throughout the restaurant while their uncaring parents sat upstairs drinking away. Those parents should be ashamed of themselves. I will probably not return. The restaurant should also be ashamed to allow that to happen.
What great service! They even left a hand written card on our table for our anniversary. Made it extra special.
Always one of our favorite go to restaurants. Really nice wine list and meals that stretch the traditional norms. Service is outstanding. I highly recommend il Calabrese!!
great as usual, best Italian on the DFW Metroplex. The gnocchi to die for. Ciao
We were there to celebrate my Daughter's 29th birthday. The card was nice touch.
Everything was perfect, Thank you so much!.
Enjoyed the service and the food.
Thank you for providing a lovely birthday lunch for my friend. She, nor our other friend in attendance had not been to your restaurant before and were both quite impressed with the service, food and atmosphere.
This has become my favorite Italian restaurant in DFW. My third meal here and it has not let down. Great authentic Italian options with in house made pasta, even with gluten free options! The only recommendation I would have is to improve the wine selection, especially for Italian wine options, both by bottle and glass. I highly recommend il Calabrese Ristorante for anyone who loves or wants to try true authentic Italian food!
Dinner with friends
Awesome food and service... such a beautiful place to dine.
Quiet evening, great food and wine. Will be back again.
Loud overall. I’m Italian and from NY and it seems to get what you could find in any neighborhood establishment at a reasonable price in NY, you have to pay through the nose for in the DFW area.
