About Ike's Food & Cocktails - Minneapolis
You’d swear this place has been around since the '40s. A bar commands the narrow room flanked by booths and tables. Servers in coats, bartenders in jackets yet with a casual air that screams welcome. American classics; juicy hand-formed burgers. Lunchtime, a carver chef slices fresh roast beef and roast turkey for sandwiches. Small plates span America’s history; supper club shrimp cocktail up-to-the-minute items as tuna tataki, fresh guacamole prepared table side, fresh spring rolls stuffed with rice noodles, shrimp and holy basil. “Big Plates”; Fillet Oscar, homemade meat loaf, pork prime rib, house smoked ribs, all can include soup, salad, bread and a basket of plastic-wrapped crackers, just like in the old days. Ike's has a serious bar, strong drinks, vintage cocktails and ice cream drinks a good selection of beers and wines by the glass. Ike's is one of downtown's favorite; retro booths, antique wood bar, with a supper-club feel.

Ike's Food & Cocktails - Minneapolis Ratings and Reviews
good overall experience. Although I tried to get a reservation at 5pm through open table and couldn't so we made it for 4:30pm. When we arrived the restaurant was nearly empty and by 5pm still only a few diners...which made we wonder why we couldn't get the 5pm slot?!?!?
First time here for brunch. The place was very busy, so the service was slow, although very pleasant. Brunch was good, but not great. The famous Bloody Mary lived up to expectations. Friend with me ordered off the menu and her sandwich was cold (grilled cheese??!!) and not very good. I think this place is great for burgers and beer but probably not exactly "fine dining." Cute place, though, and I'm glad I had the experience.
This was our first time at Ike's and it was a wonderful experience. Our server was great, and the food was amazing. I had the horseradish crusted salmon and it was some of the best salmon I have ever had. Already thinking about going back so I can have it again! We had the chocolate cake for dessert and it was HUGE! There were four of us and we couldn't even finish it, so plan accordingly.
Biggest complaint is a bartender that didn't know how to make a Sazerac--served it in a glass full of ice with a lemon slice in the drink. He got defensive when I questioned the resulting drink & didn't have the courtesy to at least offer to redo or make an alternative drink. Cocktail scene is very competitive now. You need to upgrade.
They couldn't find my reservation in the system - that is the first time I've seen that happen with Open Table. It wasn't a big deal as we were a little early and there was plenty of seating. As always, the food and service was excellent. Ike's is quickly becoming my go-to spot for casual business meetings and after-hours get-togethers. Highly recommended.
This was our second trip to Ike's and it was great again. The Roadhouse burger is easily one of the five best hamburgers I have ever had. I wanted to try something different from the first time I went but it was too good to pass up and the second time was even better. The whole family liked their burgers. Ike's will become a regular stop on future visits to the Twin Cities.
Perhaps it was due to a Twins game day on a Thursday, but the service was not what I was led to expect. In the middle of my talking to our server he muttered something then walked away. When I voiced concern that a hot pot of coffee was placed on a column above the heads of customers and was worried drips or hits would cause it to fall I was told I should just be glad it wasn't over my head and that this is where they always put pots of hot coffee. Being an attorney and part of a safety council I find this an odd practice. Error likely situation and all...
The food was good -- Chopped salad was fresh and tasty if a bit pricey.
My main concern was the service and inability to voice safety concerns - The service, according to the person treating me to lunch, was their best service ever.
I won't be back.
We've been to Ike's on a number of occasions for both dinner and brunch and have always had great experiences. This evening was the first time we were mildly disappointed. We had a reservation but were not seated until a good 1/2 hour after our reservation time. Will cut them some slack as it was before a major music event at Target field so they were doing their best to manage walk-ins vs. reservations. Will not stop me from returning - they make a killer burger and have a vast selection of cocktails available. All-in-all a great spot.
Disappointed. The sandwich was 5" high so there was no way I could pick up to eat it. It was extremely dry and tasteless. Fries were not fresh and were only slightly warm when they arrived. Soda was flat. Lunch mate enjoyed his hamburger but his fries were the same. I should have remembered that some of the tables are literally 8" from the next table and unfortunately I received 1 of those despite reservations. Very little room, loud, no privacy for a business lunch. Will not try it again.
